Kill Six Billion Demons

Exactly who forced her to go to Mottom's palace?
A scared girl who didn't want to go.

Going in her place was a heroic act, though the fact is Alison wanted to go there to Talk to Mottom... and found an intolerable evil nestled there instead.

So she acted once again without thinking beyond 'this abomination needs to go'.

No. That is how she made her way there, but her choice to go was made beforehand. The girl was a convenience.

So she acted once again without thinking beyond 'this abomination needs to go'.
And left the abomination unharmed, beyond a broken tool. Such impressive resolution.

Then she should have finished the job. Spear of Royalty + Stunned Mottom = Easy way to end the life of a God.

Assuming she could have.

Alison is very much running off of instinct here and the Key rarely does what she wants it to.

Not even five minutes after she burned down Haset-Om, she wasn't able to teleport. In the free for all between the Pursuers that followed, she was able to briefly lash out with a far lesser form of attack than before and was notably surprised that she even got that much.

That thing in her head has the power. All she needs to do is use it, something she has demonstrated the ability to do.
What she lacked was resolution, and that is all on her.

She has power, certainly.

But she has no idea how to use it.

Remember here?

A tree, a motherfucking people-eating tree.
Allison doesn't quite grasp the difference of willing, wanting, and wishing.
Trees don't tend to dodge or have kung-fu of their own.
You're being a sanctimonious asshole.
The tree is irreverent. It was a tool, nothing on its own. It had a desire, but it would not uproot itself to hunt down victims.
Taking issue with the tree is shortsighted to the point of being blind.
Mottom was the issue.

That is a personality flaw. The key is not a magical wand, nor a fancy spear with obscure conditions for use. It is power that will aid her when she commits to action. If she were holding to her course, she wouldn't be a helpless pincushion.

After the tree was destroyed, Mottom was stunned. Even were one to assume that her clear human weakness was something she could discard in a second should she be under threat, that just makes Allison a shortsighted coward.

Enough so that you took it to that thread, clearly. Over discussion of character traits in a fictional work.
About two replies worth of discussion.
Consider taking up a mirror.

I went to the rant thread to complain about how much of a little bitch you were being since I wouldn't have been discussing KSBD but your pissy attitude, this thread did not feel appropriate.

Kinda did not realize that it ought to have been high noon. That was before I remembered your special snowflake pronouns idiocy. Would have just ignored you, had I remembered that was your deal.

I get the distinct impression that she's gone a bit off her rocker. That she's trying to convince herself more than she's talking to Allison.

"Which do you fear more Noble Fool? Death... or Eternity?"

Thanks for sucking the fun out of KSBD.
If this is enough to strip away your enjoyment of the comic, you never actually enjoyed it.
"Oh no, someone on the internet I don't actually care about dislikes the resolution of an arc!" Should not outweigh enjoying the art, or the characters, or the humour, or the setting, or any combination thereof.
It was either that or die, so...
Dying was one option, yes. So was winning. She mustered enough will to run away, after all.

Allison survived, Mottom is probably dead. I mean, her will is broken, her murder tree of un-aging is on fire, her Key is dark, and her palace is about to crash. If you kill your enemies, how are they going to know that they've lost?

Mottom will probably find some way to survive this reduced... but it's STILL a win for the vastly underpowered, underexperienced, scared young woman who only a few DAYS before was living a completely normal life and was super nervous about something as simple as having intercourse with her boyfriend.
