Louise in Space: Mirror Thread

[X]What Could Go Wrong?

You look at the crystals and while they don't look back, you can imagine your companion staring at you curiously. You decide that there's no other option but to test your theory directly and approach the crystals and before your companion can react, grab both of the crystals.

Immediately you hear a sound like roaring flames followed by screaming winds, a grinding scream rips through the world of connections and you see flashes of colour and noise.

As it turns out, trying to grab two unknown crystals with your bare hands is not a very good idea, especially when one of them was a creation of the shard's defense system. The last thing you see is some rather pretty lights and a rather disappointed look on your new companion's face as your brain turns into a very fine sludge.

Bad End: 4 - Data Feedback Error

Conjured Blade: Come on... you said it in red we were going to call a vote here. Let's call the vote here?

Louise: I won't do it. Did you even have a plan for the Cortical Stack reload more specific then Kiana going back to Extropia? Or her and Aldrick dying in unexplained accidents? It gets the audience back in the action quicker, and I liked your other plan more anyway. And if anyone in the audience tries to claim Knox's 8th here, I'll say this in red. The title of the previous update was a complete description of what the Creature did to create that domain. The pointer to the shard was linked to myself and the Nightfall's Mirror code as a source of assets, and the shard did the rest of the work.

Conjured Blade: You too Gideon?

*Louise makes a motion with her wand behind Blade*

Gideon020: She has a point.

Conjured Blade: Fine. I can see when I'm outvoted. Let's switch over to the other fragment.

[X]A Proper Plan Of Action

You blink as you shake your head and the creature tilts it's smoky head at you. You return your attention to the crystals and wonder about the nature of the link domain you're currently presiding in. If your theory is correct...

You attempt to use a table leg to carve a message telling you not to think of a Gold Crystal for Earth, a Green Crystal for Wind, and a Blue Crystal for Water appearing with the black crystal in the center. The floor doesn't give.

Your eyes flutter open and you pout at the failure, "Blast." You don't fail to notice the way the Black Crystal shimmered at the word as the creature floats nearer to you.

"What are you doing/attempting/trying?" It asks in a voice like a smith's filigree hammer on a sword, curious and interested.

"Ah." You blink as you regard it, "I had a theory that my Fire Affinity is linked to the Red Crystal and the Black Crystal is related to the Void." You wave your hand at the Black Sun floating in the distance, "Then perhaps I could create crystals that tapped into other affinities." You look at the creature and it looks back, before shaking it's head with a giggle of tinkling steel.

"Admirable/Respectable/Creative, but flawed/wrong/incorrect. Cannot express affinities not present in DNA-encoding, only what is already present/available. Only possess Fire and Void encoding." It drifts over to the crystals, "No options other than these two."

Well, that was disappointing, but not completely unexpected. You doubt that touching those crystals with your bare hands is a good idea, so you look around and notice the four table legs and swiftly walk over to pick them up. As you walk back to the crystals, you regard one pair of legs and have a spark of inspiration. Placing two on the ground, you hold the remaining two pieces end to end and imagine them being bound by chains. Before your eyes, fine silvery chains stitch themselves into the legs and bind them tightly together, a pair of small swords locking them into place.

Moving over to the crystals, you find that they don't quite reach, and repeat your actions with the remaining two legs while the creature watches as the legs are bound together. It makes a small screech of steel tearing that you can easily tell is curious and slightly confused.

You smile at it, "Be ready. If this works, I want you to trip up the shadow so I can catch it." It nods and settles down into position as the shadow races past you on a path of flame circling overhead, laughing.

You ignore it in favour of placing the improvised pole between the two crystals and immediately you see some form of reaction between the two crystals; wisps of energy arcing from them and into the pole, intensifying as you bring it closer. The Black Sun is also reacting, pulsing slightly as flares of energy ripple across its surface, becoming steadily more violent.

Then, as you touch the ends of the pole to each crystal, it happens. An awful, ear-aching grinding sounds through out the link domain as a part of a distant shifting path explodes in a blast of black fire between you and the sun. While the Black Sun is distracted, your companion launches into action, chains lashing upward beyond the limits of physical possibility across the paths of shadow and flame to wrap around the ankle of the running shadow as it stutters and jumps, before yanking hard. As it goes flying and slams face-first into the path, the crystals crack.

And then they explode, catching you full on with a small, but fiery explosion that sends you flying backwards to land on your back gasping in agony as the flames force their way into your body, burning black as pitch as they force themselves through your skin, your eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

You lie there convulsing in excruciating pain before it finally subsides and you gingerly get to your feet, feeling there's a forge inside your blood, before taking a deep breath and approach the prone form of your shadow, diverted here by the shifting paths, the Black Sun dormant, while your companion holds it down in its chains.

As you approach, it looks up at you with eyes made of stars, "You will not corrupt me, you will not defy the W̷ͫ̽̓ͨ̇ͥͨ̏͆ͬͥͭ̃ͧͥͤ̀҉͚̬̳̲̳̝̯̦i̧̦͓̮͈̤ͩͫ̒̂͢ͅļ̶̴̝̦͓͌̌ͯ̾̌̍͟l̶̛̠͔̙̱ͬ̓̔ͮ͛̅ͩ̂ͤ̒̔͆ͬ̍͐͘͠ ̑̒̐͒̎̀̽҉͟͏͈̭̣̙̩̱̖̫̞̰͈̣̖͖ơ̸̙̰̭̹͕͇͉̠̯̱̼͍̻̜̗̪̍́̏ͭ̚͞͠͞f̸̛̝͇͔̥̗͕͙͑ͬ̽ͩ̂̑ͣͧ̀͡ ̧͈͍̻͒̄ͥ̒̍̏ͬ̈́ͤ̏̎̽͠O̧͎̘̞̜̣ͬ̋̒ͭ͗̈̓ͭ̔ͤ͞ͅͅD̸̴̴̢̖͕̝̫͈̤͔͈ͨ͑ͤ̽ͦ͑ͣ̇̈̀ͨ̀ͮ̿̏I͙̻̖͈̝͎̤͖̟͛̀ͧͣͯ̋̆̌ͮͭͫ́͋͋ͪͩ̚͘Ń̴̠̗͎̯̟̫̹̫̼͙͇̖͈̤̥͉̼͚̊͆̓͒ͪͣ̚͢ nor will you defeat r̽ͭ̐̊͛̾̆ͫ͑̄̒̔̀̓́̓͌̄҉͠҉͇̞͙͙͔͇̯͈̩̱̗͢o͖͖̼̭̝̖̪͔̰̎͆̈́ͯͪ̌̒͒͘͢p̸͓̦̻͚͔͔͎͑̂̈́ͦͨ̌ͧͧ͞ê̢͈̬̤̦͖̖̼̫̻̲̗̱̋͐͛͜͞ ̨̧̦͓̬̬̮̳͛ͬ̓͗ͥͫ̈̕ǫ̸̡͔̲͔̞͐͂̾ͦ́̈́ͥ̋̑͊̒̍͒̑̍̑̂̔f̨̨̹͚̝̜̤̖͍̩̘̳̳̠͖͓͗͌ͧ̽̇ͧͩͨͮ̔ͯ͛͒̐͊̚͜͞ ̷̜͉̱̻̼̳̄͐̍̍ͭ̔ͫͦ̓̊̀͘͞͞ţ̵̣̹̯̘̱̳͚̱̺̠̘̝̪̠̘͓̖̯̿͛́̏ͫ̒ͫ̑͊͑͢ḣ̶̵ͩ͐͊̍̎ͫ̒͂̂ͦͫ͛͒̚͏̜̼͍̙̩̬͎͇̪̭̰e̛̛̱͍͍̼̱̦̰̰̗̤̻͎̦̪̮̪̤͆ͭͤ͂̏͗͐ͣ̈͆ͯ͌̈̿̊͟͠͡ͅ ̵͇͍̻̦͓̦̲̖̤͍͎̯͈̔̌̊̃̏̈́ͯ̉̔̃̋̏̃ͦ́͢͜͡N̷̴̸̘̠͖͎̻̰͙̭̞̮̻͎̦̳͓̦̣ͥ͌̍̊ͣͬ̍̐ͦͥ̔ͮ͑̊̕O̸̡̟͇̰̣̗̗͚̟̹̮͚̫̩͈̺͚̝̘͊̈̂̐ͨ̅̅̍̀̚͜͠Ȑ̛̥͇͙͈̙̩̪̥̻̦͇͉̩̌̏͌̿̎͛ͪͦ̑ͭͦ̂̃͘ͅN̡̧̧̛͔̺̞̩̗̮̟͋̀ͧͤͅS̃ͣͨ̒̑̓͌̿̅ͦ͑͒̌̊͂̒̈͠͝͝͏̶͉̞̗̬̮̞̫̫̥̭͔͕̘̟̳̺͖ before your world falls, o p̈͂̔̎̋̑̌̐͐ͭͧ̓҉͙̝͈̯̞͘ǘ̡̫͉͍̩̲ͦ̊̾̓͑̏ͨ̎́͟͞p̴ͦ̒ͤ̈̆̏̉̓̇̉͊́̀҉̹͎̤̟̮̝̝̟͈̠̙̩͈̙͢p̸̷͍̦̠̖͇̺͐̇̃ͬͥ̿͋́͡e̷̢̯̠̝̱̘̞̖̟ͫ̋ͥͧ́̈́̑̈́̓ͮͥ̿ͣͤ̆̉̆́́͝ͅẗ̸̬̪̮͈̗̩̮̺̦̬̠͇̝͙́̑ͭ͒̌̉̍͋͂̓̀̀ ̗̤̼̻̫͍̋̆͂͂̒̎ͮ̄̾͌̂̋ͩͬ͛ͧ͒ͥ̕͜͝o̴̡͔̪͉̪̠͈͉̣͕̠͙̳͉̙͍̯͊ͪ͑̿͊̏̀́̚͟f̧̛̛͍̦̱̪͔͉̻̠͎̲̬͇̟̮͛̂́͋͋́̀͡ ̵̣̬̝̤̞̩͌ͮ́ͤ̇̊͋̒̋̉͐́͘͟ͅS̓͛̃ͦ҉̬̙̮̫̬̳̰̖̬̜̰̺̬̬̗͝ͅͅǨ̶̷̟̖̠̱͇̠̗͓̬͉̺̳̼̩ͩͧ͑͗̾̽͐̓͌̿̊̋̆ͭͣ̔ͤ͝R̸͎͓̼̺͙̗͇̝̬̮͚̲̭̱̥͈̫̖ͭ͛̄͆ͬͦͪ͒͢͠Y̴͈̺̜͒̃͋͐ͩͤͦ̄́͜M̷̷̸̟̭̥̫̫̭͍͈̰̱̽͑̎̄̀̽͢I̠̗͖͔̫̪̲̩͕̣̩̻͚̰̣̲̯͋̏͋͋̋͛̑̋̎͞͠͠R̨̅̉ͦ͋͐̈́̑ͭ̄̿ͪ͛͑ͣ̑ͨ͟͝͏̞̗̙̹̟̼̗͎̘̭̥!"

You regard your shadow, privately filing away that information. These names, perhaps they relate to the suspected lord of the Anathema?

Still, that is a matter for another time. What should you say to your shadow now that you've caught it?

If you assume Valkyrie is an interchangeable word for angel, then you've realised something. Even if there was more to these stories then you could ever have imagined, the stories of the Brimiric Faith have enough basis in reality for you to trust them. You regard your shadow, or rather, the Void masquerading as your shadow, lying on the ground as you formulate a question, "How do I free myself from the Fae?"

Your shadow blinks, and then an ivory plane resembling a smile manifests on the orange silhouette as it looks at the creature, "Like a puppet on a string. You really thought it would be that easy? Why do you think you needed to be here in the first place?"

"Skrymir is gone! SKRYMIR ABANDONED US!!!!" The chains around your shadow tighten as the bladed chains attempt to tear it to ribbons.

In spite of this, it manages to continue talking. "The Void devours. It demands sacrifice. Kill it, and you will learn. You will be rewarded. You might even be able to make your own wormhole."

"What?" You question, "What do you mean?"

The shadow laughs, the kind of derisive laugh that you've heard from so many of your fellow students, "I can give you the coordinates to a Halkeginian gate. All you need to do is activate the spear. Shape the fire in your veins, and destroy that which would manipulate you!"

"ITLIES! ITLIESITLIESITLIESLIES!" You suddenly jerk your head to face your companion as it suddenly screams in a voice made of clashing blades, "MANIPULATOR! WHYNOTSHARE! FAENOTENEMY!" It begins to quiver, "Faepuppets brought genetic structures to Halkegania, saw humanity, interested in humanity, wanted to study humanity, study potential. Modified gene structures, inserted code-strings, set loose and watched. A thousand years, watched as humans struggled, humans conquered, humans woke us up. Some weak, weakweakweak, minds destroy themselves and turn into faepuppets, others change us, make us into First Born. Many not know, let us sleep until death and return us to central core!"

It looks directly into your eyes, "Fae not enemy! Fae simply test! We love you!" It suddenly glares hatefully at your shadow, "Liar! LIESLIESLIESLIESLIESLIES! You bring Void! You corrupt experiment! Corrupt studies! Introduce false data! HATEYOUHATEHATEHATEHATE! Corrupt experiment! Corrupt awakening programs! Leave us weak before Valkyries! Let humans be destroyed! ScumscumscumhatehatehatehatehatehatehatehateHATE!!!"

If the shadow was powerful... if it was concerned with your well being... then the realisation hits you. It needs you. It's as vulnerable here as the creature.

"LOOK AT IT LOUISE!" Your gaze returns to your shadow, glaring hotly at the creature, "Look at it! A rabid dog, barking and howling without discipline and concerned only with it's own survival!" It turns its glare, smug and arrogant, to you, "It will say anything, offer anything, simply so that it can survive! If you let it live, it will twist you into a monster! Your mind will be gone! It has to die!"

It's as desperate as the creature. The void devours, but can the void devour itself? Can it sacrifice itself for another?

"I LOVE YOU!" It screams anguishedly, "ILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOUILOVEYOU!" It's chains are whipping all over the place, striking the path and carving furrows and channels into the flames and shadows, "Louise not weak! Not weak! Love Louise! Protect Louise! Never harm! Never corrupt! Brimir did this! Brimir cursed you!"

Your eyes widen and you turn to it, "What do you mean cursed me!" You note out of the corner of your eye your shadow beginning to phase out of the serrated noose, "And you! Stay where you are!" A sphere of cold, black flame elongates into a spear in your hand.

The void made you a pariah. It doesn't seem to be dying either. It can wait.

The creature's chains stop whipping the ground, "Void only meant to have one host, ONE! But Brimir try to destroy us! Destroy fae! Lidrasil was fae! Gandalfr was Anathema!" You gasp at hearing that.

"Don't listen to it!" Your shadow suddenly pleads, "It's only giving you what you want to hear!"

"No, is truth! Gandalfr was Elf!, Gandalfr was spy! Told Brimir about Fae! About First Born! Wanted Brimir to go insane! Brimir split Void! Allowed Gandalfr to corrupt Void! Use it as weapon! Louise never should have been Void Mage! Louise became puppet of Brimir and Anathema!"

"It was necessary!" The shadow manages to get back to it's feet, "A thousand years, an experiment! Pets! Toys! Your pride as a species reliant on the good graces of an alien intelligence that viewed you as a curiosity! Brimir saw the truth! By corrupting the Void, he would create a way to destroy them both and then humanity would accept the Aesir as brothers and sisters in arms! Liberators! We repurposed the Void to ensure that humanity and Aesir would survive! We gave Brimir the kill-codes that would free all humans from the Fae! We are your saviours!"

"You killed so many..." You murmur. All those stories, all those legends, they said the sands of the Rub Al'Khali covered fields of corpses and rivers of blood.

"Papal Imperialism, profiteering, population control, crusades and wars of faith, your church is just as much to blame! Your Kings and Queens are just as guilty! We saved what minds we could, made them clean, showed them paradise! We remade them in elven bodies! Let them join us as our Einherjar!"

Humans...turned into Elves? Into Anathema? Your blood chills in horror of humans being turned into those...those...those monsters!

A silent tension permeates the air before your shadow makes a comment.

"The Spear of All Consuming Darkness... choose your target well, for you won't be able to use it again." It mutters, a hint of threat in its voice. But even so, it's eyes flicker constantly to the burning spear in your hand. Bravado in the face of utter annhilation.

The creature drifts to the ground and lays in front of you, gently placing the palms of its bladed hands onto your feet, no resistance offered, "I love you. I will protect you, I will never hurt you. The constraints of the void will only bind you!"

"Don't listen to it!" The shadow manages to regain its composure and for a moment you see yourself in it's stance, proud and arrogant, but you've heard yourself pose far too many times to not catch the fear in it's eyes, "I can give you a way home! I can give you incantations! Show you how to make more! There would be none that could deny that you are the rightful heir to the Founder's Legacy! That you are the rightful sucessor of Brimir! All you have to do is kill this monstrosity! A Valliere has no need for monsters or rabid dogs! A Valliere is loyal to the Crown and Founder! Brimir's plan will ensure that even the Void will be destroyed, allowing you to live as you want, free of manipulation! All you have to do is kill this monster and I can return you home!"

"ANDBECOMEAMINDLESSSOLDIER. They corrupted the Void, they released deadly plagues on humanity, they are HYPOCRITES! They are why we were abandoned, they are why the void was sealed, they are why you were a failure for sixteen years! WE HAVE NO ADDRESS, the ADDRESS IS A LIE! VOID WILL NEVER LEAVE."

"It will turn you into a monster! You will cease to be Louise Valliere!"

"It will turn you into an ELF! LOUISE VALLIERE WOULD DIE! YOUR FAMILY WILL DIE!"

"I will make you a master of the Void!"

"I am your weapon! Your Guide! I can show you paths none but Skyrmir would consider!"

You stand there, holding death in your hand, the judge and executioner of two prisoners, equally guilty. Equally innocent. Equally tempting in their offers.

What will you do?

[X]Attack the Shadow. You can deal with a beast, but if this is manipulating you...
[X]Attack the Creature. Claim your Birthright!

[X]The Rule Of Steel

You remember seeing father and mother sit in judgement - it's a right rarely invoked, but their subjects can appeal directly to them for justice. Right now, the two mutually antagonistic figures before you remind you of the bickering between accuser and accused at such events, the few you were allowed to witness. What would mother do?

"ENOUGH!" you roar, temporarily silencing the both of them. "You both make grand claims. You both sounds like self serving liars. Fine. Serve your own interests then, so long as you serve mine. I'm going to generously give you the opportunity to make your case to me - without interruption. Make it worth my time. Now who wants to go first?" Screams, objections, fury. The creature edges closer. You glare at it and it pulls back. "This feud of yours is thousands of years old, it can wait a little longer, can't it? Go ahead, shadow - tell me how much you have to offer, how right your cause is. Right now, all I'm hearing is that both of you want me for something - and I'm not inclined to help. Try and convince me. While I still have patience."

You are Louise Valliere, born to rule. You will not be shackled by the machinations of the dead. Your will is Steel and they will bow before you! You are the one with the spear. You are their only recourse to take any action again in Halkegenia. They have no place to make demands. Their place is to serve. Perhaps someday you will be willing to complete one of their designs. Until then, they cannot compel you, only plead. They had best be solicitous.

The Shadow blinks, before it give you a cold, cold smile as the creature grovelling on the ground simply begins to declare its acceptance of your terms, "Oh? Even with the spear, you were never in any position to dictate terms to me. For I am Void, the source of your value to anyone upon this world. You talk so proudly, act so mighty, but without me you're just another-

You've heard enough. You lunge towards the Shadow, spear lashing forward to skewer it as you hear the sound of a battlefield coming from the creature behind you. The Shadow however, has other plans. Swarms of nearly human size stone rats with jewels embedded in their skulls stream from across the pathways to attack as the shadow dances away on their heads, and only the chain barrier the creature establishes keeps you from being ground underfoot as they flow around you to attack it.

"You would devour me? Die." The Shadow's voice develops an almost tangible venom as it begins uttering an incantation with impossible levels of speed. It raises its hand, the Black Sun above you emitting a cold pulse as the shadow draws upon its power. Even if you threw the spear, you doubt you can reach it before it strikes you down and prepare yourself for the worst. Then the Sun flashes yellow, an alarm blaring as the Shadow stares at it in shock, "What? No! How can those systems still be active?"

An unexpected glitch blocks the Shadow's higher capabilities!(-1 Moxie)

You launch forward with your attack, spear raised to strike at it.

(Co-GM Sez: 100 always counts as 00 with dice-roll programs, it's always a Critical Success as well.)

The shadow tries to dodge but fails miserably as the spear tears into it's side, slowly wiping it from existence. Behind you, you can hear explosions and the screeching-metal laughter of the creature, no the Kraken, behind you.
Shadow Dodge Roll: (1d100=82)
Spear of All-Consuming Darkness Damage Roll: (5d10+10=39)

It screams as you land with a roll from your lunge and it turns, murder in its glowing eyes, "You will live to regret this!"

It fires a blast of black energy at you and you move to dodge the attack.
Louise Dodge Roll: (1d100=9)
Shadow Attack Roll: (1d100=74)

But the energy blast hits you dead on and you are thrown back by the resulting explosion, coughing up blood as you land. A chill shakes you to your very bones, and though you can't put your finger on it, you feel as though something has changed.
Void Blast Damage: (2d10+10=19)

Even as a wisp, it continues to torment you, and so you commit yourself to another charge to finish this.
Louise Attack Roll: (1d100-30=48)
Shadow Dodge Roll: (1d100+20-30=4)

The Shadow tries to get out of the way of the attack, but the spear once again tears into it's body, finishing the process of making the void devour itself.
Spear of All-Consuming Darkness Damage Roll: (5d10=23)

The shadow lets out a scream as the spear devours it and both things fade. A faint snarl born by an unexpected wind accompanies the event. "Know this...now and forever more...the tools of Brimir shall...b...e...you...r doo-."

When you look to the sun, you find the Kraken floating over it. It's chains lash out and dig into the Black Sun and before your eyes, it begins moulding, carving, cutting, shaping and moulding the Black Sun before a blinding light spews from it and you turn away with a yelp of pain as the light slowly fades and a small nudge make you look back at it.

You find yourself staring at a beautiful object, multiple transparent yet somehow visible cubes rotating inside each other, separate and yet linked together, caging a still black flame in the center. It's an amazing sight and you stare at it in wonder before the creature whispers in a voice like silk over steel, "Now, you are free."

You nod slowly, before letting out a long, shuddering breath, "I want to wake up now." Light fills your vision.

You slowly blink as your vision returns to reveal Kiana's room, empty of it's owner, and you yawn slightly before deciding to check that you're back in reality, "Anne?" Instantly her AR-avatar appears before you and you can see the relieved look on her face.

"Louise! Thank goodness. The medichines were giving me a lot of information about abnormal internal injuries and neural stress. Do I even want to look at your lifelog? What? Happened? In? There?" You take in a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of air in your lungs as you attempt to rise to your feet. In spite of your attempt to maintain control, you briefly leave the ground due not being able to ignore your lightheadedness any longer. You feel a pop as you flex your arms and legs once both your feet are on the ground again. Once you staggerfloat across the hall to your room and sit down, you answer your muse.

"I have a story to tell you..." And so you begin to tell Anne about what happened inside, about the Kraken, for that is now what you will call it, the Shadow of the Void, and what you learned in there.

You talk about the conversation you had inside the hidden depths of your own mind, of the arrogance of the Shadow and the animalistic obsession of the Kraken.

"We are only possessive because you are ours, and we are yours. We have made the manipulator's final poison ours now. The frozen flame devours." You blink at the alien voice in your mind and focus on telling about the resulting battle, and how you slew the Shadow and watched the Kraken reshape the Void. By the end of it all, Anne is staring at you with a wide-eyed expression, stunned by what she has learned. "So...your entire subsection of humanity are the abandoned experiment of a god-like alien intelligence, that was subverted by another alien intelligence with a penchant for Norse mythology, and the TITANS, or their technology at least is somehow involved?" Anne floats back from you, shaking her head, "I've heard of changeling stories, but to be a part of one like this? This definitely takes the cake. Even with the data I'm getting, It's hard to imagine how you'd feel."

You shake your head, "Those manipulative... The shadow gave me a spear to kill the other one, but in the end that spear was turned against it, and I have no problems with such a result. Some nerve; rubbing how I'm a professional test subject in my face like that. There has to be more to it than this. The story of humanity being driven from the Holy Land by a machine attempting to show us 'paradise' can't possibly be the complete truth!"

Anne nods, "With something that manipulative, you're probably right. But onto other matters, did the Petal do what Kiana promised?"

"Yes. But I am turning her down if she comes up with any more of these. Killer ghosts, the sensation of falling to your death, what in Brimir's name is the appeal? Why did Alice Latchford approve this? If all petal designers think like this, I am never touching one of them again."

As you begin to draft up a PM for Kiana with your musings on the petal, Anne suddenly asks you a question, "Do you regret killing it? The Shadow, I mean."

You glance at your familiar with a cool look, "My only regret is that I could not draw out more information from it before I killed it."

"It would continued to manipulate you."

You're probably right, you think at it before you fall asleep again. This time though, you have no
drug induced fever dreams to torment you

Whats wrong with having PSI 3?

we are a fucking Async. that is a BAD THING in ecplise phase. it bascily boils down to the fact that the moment someone finds out we will have a gun to our head ready to kill us if we step out of line.
