Neither Heaven, Nor Hell (ASOIAF/MGS)

Ned could take one assasin alive - why he failed to do so? and who is blinding red demon?
But - squire revolution seems legit to me ! especially if squirrels would help !
They did threaten his sister so he wasn't gonna want to spare them after that. What do you mean by blinding red demon and squirrels?

Take Me Out. I. New
It had come as somewhat of a surprise for the Tyrell's to discover that the Stark's had sent over a diplomat of their own as they were mostly isolationist and were typically not caring of the affairs of the rest of the Kingdoms. Still, with the Tyrell's forming an alliance with the Lannisters and the Starks doing the same with the Baratheons and the Arryns; it had to be expected that the latter alliance would send over an envoy of their own to negotiate their dealings with the Reach. A letter sent by a raven had informed them of the envoy to which they had written back agreeing to it though they did not expect the middle child of Lord Stark to be sent as the envoy; but Eddard Stark now sat at the dining halls within Highgarden, with two of his men-at-arms standing at guard and the rest of his retinue standing just outside the halls.

But what was done was done, and Olenna watched the boy with critical eyes. She was not foolish enough nor short-sighted enough to simply give traits to the boy just because of the known stereotypes given to the Northerners. But that did not mean that she was unwilling to not use those same stereotypes to insult him.

The Lord Paramount, Mace Tyrell proclaimed with a great deal of enthusiasm and introduced Eddard to their Keep. "Welcome, Ser Eddard, To Highgarden! Please, let us enter into the tradition of Guest Rights and eat this salted bread." A servant hurried over to extend a basket of bread.

"Thanks, Lord Tyrell. Condolences for the late Luthor Tyrell." Eddard said with quite a substantial amount of lackadaisal attitude with him despite his mission as a diplomat. Which Olenna had scoffed at; what did Lord Arryn and Lord Stark teach this boy to have him be so lazy despite his mission of great importance?

Eddard took and ate the bread quickly and without care, as if wanting to have the ceremony done with as soon as possible. But despite what his appearance had shown, Olenna had a very slight intuition that his carefree attitude was only masking a disguise. Mace having sensed his mothers incoming barrage of barely-hidden insults had quickly continued. "Thank you, Ser Eddard. You will find Highgardens accomadations to be more than enough for your station."

"Right." Eddard tapped the refectory table twice then he took out a letter and held it aloft for Mace to see. "Lets get down to business. The North is willing to send in Ironwood and Marble at a discounted price to the South in exchange for a discount on grains. This letter is going to show the finer details." He held it and extended it to the side for a servant to grab it and hand the letter for the Lord to see.

Mace hummed as he read the letter. "Wonderful. I shall discuss this, come tomorrow. In the meanwhile, let my sister, Mina show you around our maze and then our gardens. After that, you may retire. I would send along Janna as well but she is currently in New Barrel." He gestured kindly to his sister who nodded then stood to show Eddard off to the Garden.

After Ser Eddard had went away along with his men-at-arms; Mace stared back at his mother, ready for her 'advise'. He sighed as he anticipated a near hour long discussion about politics and trade.

Mina and Ned along with one of his men-at-arms walked towards the thorny Maze; with Ned and his man-at-arms relying on Mina to lead their way around the labyrinth. His man-at-arms had a fabric get caught at the thorns of the maze and he had to tear it to free himself only to pull back and get further entangled from the briars; Mina slightly laughed at the meanwhile as Ned had to help the man to his feet and safe from any further entanglements.

Ned grumbled and tugged at the collar of his drab but ornate clothings. "Why Mazes?"

"Ser Eddard?" Mina asked.

Ned rolled his eyes. "Let's . . . dispense with the formality. Call me Ned; I hate being called Sir. Hate honorifics, really." He then tugged at the sleeves.

She supposed that he was friendly enough to warrant a change in formality but they were still strangers so as a compromise. "If you wish, Sir Ned." He grumbled. "The mazes were grown so that any attempts to besiege Highgarden can be resisted by this maze; if the besiegers were to attempt to burn it out then they have to wait for the fire to be doused before they can march further." She tried to ask a question to him. "If I may ask, were the rumors true in regards to your rescue-"

Ned interrupted and continued for her, "-of the women of the Vale? Robert did most of the heavy-lifting."

"By Robert, would you mean Lord Baratheon?" Mina inquired of him.

"Yup." He paused. "So that was the infamous Queen of Thorns, huh."

"That would be my mother, Olenna Tyrell née Redwyne." Ned hummed at that. She confessed slightly. "With your rather unprofessional conduct; I had nearly expected my mother to insult you and correct your manners."

He smirked at that. "But she didn't . . ."

She showed a slight bit of teeth when she smirked as well, "But she did not."

They turned around a corner, and turned yet again. "You're betrothed to Jaime, aren't you?"

"Yes. Though, I have not yet been given the chance to meet him." She paused slightly. "The times are getting much too tense. The alliances. The rebellion-"

"Rebellion?" Ned asked her.

"Have you not yet heard? Close to thirty scores of squires, pages, and even the fostered have revolted against the very men that have trained them and have resorted to Banditry. Be it Hedge Knights or Lord, none are safe against it. I do not know much about it, but I have heard that they are sequestered within a keep near Lannisport. There are some whispers that a mage have enthralled them. But the Knights are not quite willing to fight against them as they have grown close to their squires. So no one is willing to stop them." She then said softly. "I have even heard of a house in the Stormlands that had their heir join with the rebellion."

"Lannisport, huh. I'll try and get to the bottom of it once I've gone to the Westerlands."

She giggled slightly. "I am sure that you will." They were finally led out of the maze. Ned breathed in the air whilst his man-at-arms almost gasped for it. "Now, let us go to the gardens."
