• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

I've not been receiving Alerts or Email Notifications on some stories for a while now. I only noticed the problem when I remembered a story and wondered why it hasn't updated. When checking the stories respective page sure enough there'll be multiple 'new' chapters, but I've not received alerts or notices for any of them.

A while back I did the tedious task of unwatching and rewatching all the Stories in my Watched Threads section yet the issue still persists.

I would advise anyone reading this to check their Watched Threads to see if their stories have updated without them knowing. There is no downside to this. Either you'll confirm that you have no notification issues and remove a worry you didn't know you had, or you'll find yourself with a backlog of 'new' chapters to read.

This is an ongoing problem. I checked my Watched Threads again today an I still see stories I'm not receiving notifications for.

This feels like it might be a settings interaction thing. I don't remember if we have the relevant settings here, but I'm pretty sure that on SV there are combinations of settings that will only notify you if a new chapter if you read the previous chapter it notified you of.

This is an issue with your email blacklisting QQ, they don't even send it to your spam folder. I know Hotmail does this (to FF aswell), I'm not sure about other providers though.

Perhaps, but I'm not certain this is the cause. That said, how would I go about whitelisting an email in Gmail to see if it helps?

I think I'm getting ~94-96% of all the notifications. The issue seems to have the most problems with the frequency of updates for some stories, but that explanation doesn't cover all the missed notifications either.

I am no longer receiving emails from QQ period.
It was working for a glorious while, then it stopped :(
I run my own mail server so it's not gmail/outlook/etc being shite. Last time this happened, it was because something on QQ's end got blacklisted, so it probably happened again.

Oh, thank god! I thought I was the only one that was struggling with this bs!
