That train of thought is cut off as you writhe on the cool, marble floor, spilling the contents of your guts all over them polished veneer alongside the thunderous headache pounding at the back of your head. The sour taste of bile pours through your throat, and after a minute, the senselessly pounding drumbeat in your brain has calmed down enough for you to create a coherent thought.

Right… you forgot how much you hated waking up for your shift. Ugh. Gets you every time.

You stand up, legs shuddering in the cool atmosphere, and look at yourself in the glinting mirror hanging from your wall. You filched it some number of cycles ago to help you remember what living in a physical body felt like.

And you're currently naked, like every other time you've woken up from your extended nap. Hmm. That's a bit of an issue. Those uniforms are expensive around here, and you'd rather not lose yours.

As you root around in the small, hollow space under your marble resting-slab, it occurs to you that you don't remember your name. You tap your chin for a moment before finally getting hit in the face with it.

Ahah! That's right. Having solved that problem, you resume searching under your slab for your uniform. It's tucked tightly at the back in a ball, and you give it a good shake to get all the dust out before you put it on.

And your weapon isn't there. Thrice-damn you, Light! It probably got taken from your quarters by one of your comrades during their guard shift.

You'll have to swing by the Armory after reporting to Queen Beryl for your shift. The grey, threadbare T-shirt sticks into your similarly grey pants before being covered by, you guessed it, a heavy grey overcoat.

You get the feeling that you look quite professional, which is then immediately shattered by the fact that you are horribly, horribly bald.

At least Nephrite had to deal with this so many times that he just created a spell for it. You quickly smooth your hands over your head while sending magical pulses through your arms, and a crop of hair that is colored…
