Realistically speaking, she's going to a prestigious UM school with a very detail-orientated trainer that the likelihood of her not knowing, before any races, is effectively nada.

On the other hand, Oguri Cap from UM Cinderella Grey, so far the only UM manga that can hold my interest, exist. She's still gonna aced it, considering her previous lives, but the inner thought is definitely gonna be hilarious if it was the case.

They had even made a poster with a picture of her running on the school track. It wasn't even a particularly interesting picture, since it had been for an endurance test so she was pacing herself. She was still somewhat miffed that they hadn't let her finish, though it was probably a fair decision since she had been running for about an hour straight by that point.

Running for an hour straight while "pacing herself", which to her probably means just not making herself outright sprint, is absolutely absurd.

Though the fact that Shiro already has a crazy training style explains why. She's regularly trained in some of the worst running conditions (solid concrete during rain which is the worst to run on for horses) while carrying delicate packages that aren't allowed to shift too much (foods and soups stacked up high) and under constant deadlines for hours at a time (delivery runner for a restaurant).

And she's been doing this kind of training for pretty much her whole life.

For some reason, there were a lot of people crying when she finished, including some adults. Her family, she could understand to some degree, since they were glad to see their offspring do well, but Shirogane couldn't help but be slightly perplexed at how emotional many of her classmates and teachers became, particularly Kobayashi-sensei, who was normally very composed.

I also can't tell if everyone is freaking out since she's apparently become the school idol and only Uma in the school's history who's gotten into Tracen Academy, or if the speech she'd prepared was just THAT GOOD.

Likely both, though a part of me wishes that the speech drew on her practice while in the military, and she ended up giving the most hyper-patriotic and aggressive middle-school graduation speech in history.

I wonder what from what army the Uhlan uniform came from. The approximate time when it was last worn was the around WW1/WW2 though the specifics are a bit blurry considering Umamusume is alt-history considering the Kingdom of Ireland. If we base it of our own history, there are 4 options: the German Imperial Army, the Russian Imperial Army, the Austrian Imperial Army, and the Polish Army. If we base it off the Youjo Senki TL, Pulska is firmly Imperial.

I must say, I always enjoy stories where she connects and loves her family on a deeper level then she really understands.

That being said, even with her "not being interested" I think she will be very committed to racing.

I have always thought that Tanya loved war, not for killing people, not for it's danger, but rather because she was good at it. This is a character that loves being the master of what they do, and I can't see her striving for anything less.

Well it's certainly a catchy name when translated.

Mother unzipped the garment bag, revealing a double breasted jacket that was similar in color to Feldgrau. She pushed it firmly into Shirogane's hands, her own hands trembling slightly.

Shirogane's ears twitched as she stared at the uniform, an Uhlan uniform, part of her mind supplied her. Why would her mother have this?

"This was your grand-aunt's," Mother explained, smiling wanly. "Don't worry, this wasn't actually the uniform she had when she was in the army, it's actually quite a bit older of a design. Still an Uhlan uniform though. Isn't that cool?"
