So, I've got to wonder. Given how Taylor came back early from summer camp, has already had her breakup with Emma, etc... and things seem largely the same, could she still have enough time to switch from Winslow to Arcadia?

I mean, given that Emma was probably still her only reason for going to Winslow and that isn't valid anymore, this Taylor is much more pragmatically-minded, added onto the fact that she knows that her power interacts with otherparahumans in some way, and that 'everyone' knows the Wards go to Arcadia. Plus the New Wave kids.

There are probably any number of reasons why Winslow is still an option. Anything from Taylor appreciating the lackluster school staff, the lack of attention paid by authorities, and generally getting a 'pass' on her behaviors, but... the same can be said of Arcadia. In addition to the Wards and second-gen New Wave going there, there's also the fact that being an 'Arcadia Kid' gives her better cover, more opportunities in her civilian life, and probably more free time to go caping about.

Just curious, since it would be an interesting point of divergence to see Taylor just 'nope out' of Winslow shenanigans without any real effort.

Plus, given the fact that she could easily 'befriend' Amy and Vicky, she has an easy way to still come into conflict with Emma whenever she gets to tagalong to upper-crust parties.

I'm not sure Taylor has realized that the whole 'Emma breakup' thing is permanent. She seems to be under the impression that Emma will just get over it and they'll be back to being best friends again in a week or two.

She hasn't.

She's not emotional about their friendship, so it won't break her like it did canon Taylor. But it will add another data point to the graph of 'people are dicks'.

Circus is decent, but Lisa should also be in the running.

The Tattlesuit would be easy enough to convert into a proper Harley outfit and she can do the mindbreak-through-talking technique just fine on her own.

All it would take is a little blue-field convincing and maybe an unadulterated peek into the mind of 'Miss J' to break her convert her into the proper mindset.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want to see joker Taylor. Feels like it'd be stealing the story away from the 'Jack's daughter' concept to turn her into an expy.

Especially after she fought off her dad's attempts to tame her.

If you're going to emphasise a name, make sure you've got it right. TDK Joker was played by Heath Ledger.

Personally, I like the idea of her playing into the "mad jester" image, but I dont think she should, or will, go particularly far with it.
 
She's going more pure terror than killing in "funny" ways. Not quite the Joker, hell probably a bit more like Scarecrow.

1) Why can't she be both?
2) She's not going to be a carbon copy of any version of the Joker.
3) The most I'm going to be doing is borrowing from certain aspects, and giving the occasional shout-out.

That's probably the best way to go about it. A key thing to keep in mind, though, is that this story is doing a damn good job of being it's own thing. Too many aspects and references to any one specific crossover character could ruin that.

Loving the story so far, just keep in mind there should be a delicate balance.

Oh, I'm not going to try to copy outright anything from any specific Joker incarnation, unless it fits exactly (or, in this case, is a cool quote).

Taylor!Joker is her own person, thank you very much :p

BTW, fun fact, that bit with the "malfunctioning" trigger? Wasn't scripted, was actually a pyrotechnics malfunction, but Heath Ledger played it off so well that they didn't need to do another shot (plus that was an expensive scene to shoot).

It would be hilarious if she could have Bakuda set the explosives (because Bakuda would dump Lung in a hot Brockton Bay second to work with Joker!Taylor) and then give her the "wtf?" look when they failed to go off just right.

Unfortunately, Bakuda is years in the future. :(
 
No worries Taylor just needs to take a trip to Cornell ... Even better if it was the same time as Daddy and Co go there.
