• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

This forum was created to be a place of creativity, not screaming arguments. A place of lewdz, not politics.

From this point on, politics is banned from this forum. If you want to scream and rage at each other because of opinions on politics, take it to SB or SV. It's not permitted here. People that continue to debate politics are going to get hit with very rapidly increasing vacations. If someone says something that pushes your political button, ignore it or walk away.

Please, folks, I'm begging you. I want this forum to be a place of fun and porn, like it was meant to be, not a raging circus of shit flinging.

I'm aware that there's going to be some confusion over what counts as politics, and what doesn't. We're not unreasonable people, so we're not going to interpret things in a way just to punish people. As always, if you feel a moderator has ruled incorrectly, start a conversation with me and present your case.

I'm going to have to say for the record that I think this recent set of actions was rather excessive and unnecessary. The political stuff in Rants was well-contained and didn't really affect the rest of the board; the veteran Ranters were well capable of compartmentalising. I'm not really seeing where chopping off half of Rants actually benefits anybody.

Speaking of which, I assume TanaNari was banned for snarking in his status. For how long?

I'm quite saddened by this. This was the one place on the internet that I actually enjoyed discussing politics, specifically because there was a large variety of political viewpoints represented. Places like SV and SB do NOT have that variety and balance of viewpoints, and instead swing much more strongly to one side than the other.

Sorry. I think we've had more reports in the last two months that we had in the previous 2+ years. Guess what the subject of those recent reports was about.

Just for the sake of clarification, where does the oh-so-frequent SJW/Anti-SJW ranting that some members do fall on the Politics/Not-Politics divide?

Please say it's politics.

For the most part, yes, it is. Which is why the SJW thread is currently locked. After a week or so, when people have gotten used to the idea of no more politics, the staff will talk about reopening it.

Free to do as you wish, great and powerful admin, but this humble servant user thinks it's a bad idea, separating the SJW question from politics is difficult, especially for people who got politics banned here in the first place(myself included too probably:().
Extremely unlikely. I imagine the subject of politics will be getting even more divisive than it already is as time goes by, not less.
The times they are a-changin'~

Politics, too kinky for QQ.

Still, it wasn't much of a loss. When I come to QQ my first thought is lewds, not politics.

... you will still allow political lewds, right? Because I found a few mangas about Trump and Hilary that are utterly hilarious.

Or the staff could just let in languish in the locked thread ghetto. Social justice culture is tied pretty heavily to politics, and it would be incredibly difficult to talk about one without invoking the specter of the other.

Leave it under the banner of politics and save yourselves future mod actions.

That's my current thought, yes. Too difficult to separate, it might as well be a bait thread.

Well, American elections are the kind of thing that people really lose their shit about, and this election season has been by far the most inflammatory in recent memory, so I can't say that I don't understand why that's the case.

It really did seem like it was the same people getting warnings over and over again there though, with most users staying peaceful.

It's natural for forums to evolve as time passes, and it's natural for people in those forums to start talking about things outside the express purview of those forums, but the basic premise of QQ, the foundation of it, is a safe and relaxed place for lewds and more generally, fiction in general.

The vitriol that has been spewed during this past election cycle and that has continued into the current administration has done absolutely nothing to foster a sense of community on this forum and has done just about everything to ruin it.

Personally, I've lost a lot of respect for different posters because of what I've found out about their political leanings. I'm not going to name names, because this isn't the forum for it. Maybe other people have the ability to compartmentalize content from the content creators, but I can't, and knowledge that I could have done without has certainly negatively impacted my enjoyment.

In short, and I say this firmly with tongue in cheek, I'm glad that the steps are being taken to Make QQ Great Again.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time imagining a definition of 'SJWs' that doesn't boil down to essentially political, given Social Justice is essentially a political thing from the very start.

Of course, it also depends on how broadly one defines 'Politics', I suppose.

Joking! But not really. I do think that banning politics really is a good thing for QQ.

Oh, I agree. And so does the mod team. We've had a front row seat as the political shitstorm that is the most recent election divided the fucking internet, and started to divide this forum too. We tried to stop it, failed, and took this draconian step as a last resort.

We're committed to keeping this place as an oasis of porn and stories.

See, I'm the kind of person that doesn't let a person's political views affect my opinion of them as a person. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The notion that certain opinions are 'wrong' is what annoys me more than anything else.

All the politics stuff always seemed extremely isolated into the politics thread to me, with the only spillover ever being into other Rants threads (such as the SV thread).

These past few months have been a political shitstorm globally. Despite being a shitstom here, it seemed like much less of a shitstorm than it was elsewhere, which was the exact reason why enjoyable discussion was even possible at all.
