Coming back from the Realm of the Force was not something one typically did. Doing so in a different galaxy and universe? Unheard off. At least for the no wayward Anakin this new galaxy gives him the opportunity to be a father he had been denied. If only it wasn't in such a hostile galaxy.

(A/N) This was made around the same time as my other 40k story. Yes, my previous Star Wars story influenced this one.

Yellow. That was the color of the crystal that had come out of the special forge and was brought up to the man who was looking at it. The crystal was held up and inspected. Physically, it seemed to be perfectly cut. Small enough to be held within two fingers.

Off to the side was a host of similar ones. Some blue, others green, and one was red. Each one a failure that slowly got better and better. "It's not the color I would have wanted, but I'll take it."

It had been over a year since he had woken up. Finding himself alive again in a strange new world. How it had happened, he did not know. One of his last memories was being dead, becoming a Force Ghost, and after that, some time observing events.

What Anakin did know was that he wasn't in his galaxy anymore. Neither was this the universe that he knew of. The Force still called to him, but around him, it was as if everything was off. A hollow echoing void was what he was feeling. At least he had appeared like how he was when he had fallen. Not that he had any sort of vanity at not being as old as he should be.

"All this just to feel something familiar in my hands," Anakin had a chuckle to himself as he looked over the parts he had. Technology whose architecture was different from what he understood.

Modifications and some workarounds. His talent with machinery helping him with the redesigns that where needed. Placing the crystal within it, Anakin did a double check. It was longer than he would have liked. More like a saber staff, and a bit heavier. An issue he can get over with some training.

Holding it out, he ignited the saber. A blade of contained plasma formed and shot out. Glowing a bright yellow with a slight burning to the edges of it. A smile formed on Anakin's face as he looked at the blade. As he did, his mind moved through the events of his life with it.

The good, the bad, and everything in between. A lifetime of pain and suffering, some of which he inflicted on others. Yet, despite all of it, there was also the joy, love, and camaraderie. Both of which he accepted about himself.

Anakin's POV

Cold night air greeted me as I stood outside the night sky of Taris. How many days had been at that forge creating the crystals for my lightsaber? "Probably going to get an earful for being gone longer than I had said."

I took a moment to think about the last year since I woke up in this strange world. Taris, a world that had been cut off after some kind of galactic cataclysm. Travel was difficult beyond the system at the best of times for them. If only the records weren't so hard for me to read. Comprehend Speech did not grant one the ability to read a written language.

It did explain everything when it came to technology, it seems. There were a lot of it across the world, but understanding it was limited; replication was a painfully long process based on what their ancestors had left for them. Much was breaking down or had broken down.

Honestly, I should have expected that it would lead to me being brought into the patronage of one of the Noble Clans of this world, all because I was good at fixing some of the things. Admittedly, part of it was the Force, but the Force is apart of me.

I wonder what Luke and Leia are doing right now? When I had stopped paying attention to the events of the galaxy, the Galactic Civil War had finally ended, and Luke had gotten married to Mara Jade. Never thought she, of all people, would be Luke's wife!

Sometimes I wished that I had made my presence known to him at that moment. Yet, the same thing had stopped me from doing as Leia and Solo had when they got married. I knew that despite being their father… I had never really been worthy of it.

Father. Sure, Luke would call me that, and in a way, he would mean it, but that was just him. Even then, his feeling was more for the man he thought of me as. Not the man he truly knew. The less said about what Leia thought of me, the better, and I deserve every bit of it.

Still, it would be nice to have another shot at being a father. Taking another look up I think I saw something in the sky. It was a shooting star that seemed to be flying through the sky. Flying rather lower in the sky and down into the distance.

Yeah, that wasn't a meteorite that had landed, and there was something off about it. My instincts, the Force itself, were telling me that much.

When I got to where the object had impacted, I was greeted by a small clearing and a sight that I wasn't expecting. Maybe it was failing debris from a starship, one of the satellites in orbit, or even just a meteorite. No, what was there in the clearing was some kind of capsule with something inside it.

This didn't make sense. I knew that Fusou had space travel of some sort, but this wasn't anything like an escape pod. "Something isn't right about this."

Walking up to the pod, the first thing I could see was some sort of symbol. As I got closer, the pod seemed to open with a strange fluid that seemed to drip out a bit. Inside of it, though, wasn't what I was expecting to see. It was a youngling, a baby that seemed no older than two years old at the most.

"Why would someone send you crashing down from space?"

Something was off about this. There was no way this wasn't by random chance. My instincts, the Force itself, were telling me as such. Reaching out for a moment with it, I had a Force vision. Something that I typically got with dreams, but that I wasn't a complete stranger to.

My vision showed a host of giant men clad in armor. Next were pods just like this one. Each scattered across different worlds, each one flashing in my mind. Worlds that I had no idea where they even are, and nothing more than a faintest understanding that almost none of them landed here.

My vision ended as my focus pulled back to reality. I looked down at the youngling before me. My mind raced about the vision that had happened as I tried to piece it all together. "What are you?"

My question had no answer. What I knew was what I could see from the pod, and from the vision. He wasn't born naturally, a clone of some sort, or perhaps something else?

Third POV

Taris was, by some accounts, a harsh world. It was dry for much of its large single continent. Deserts and arid grasslands covered much of the surface, but the continent had temperate forests and large mountain ranges with some holding large snow caps. When it was colonized, and why it was, was lost but the people had known they were not native to the planet.

In their isolation, a culture of clans and tribes had formed. Great cities had formed around the core of their Great Clan forts, turning into something of a fortress city. Anakin, if he was being honest, noticed similarities between them and a few other such cultures from back in his old universe.

Anakin walked into the fortress city, where he was greeted by the usual day-to-day. Some of the warriors about, people going over daily tasks, and a few even giving a slight bow to him. Something that was given for his place within society that he had gained.

The Citadel at the heart of the city was before him. Large and imposing it was designed much like a castle that would be used more so for defense than some of the Great palaces back in his galaxy. "Huh, there is our head Tech-Smith."

As Anakin walked in, he turned over, seeing an older man dressed in a formal military outfit with armor on it. At his hip was both a blade and a gun. "Well, as you can see Majordomo, I am, and that I'm not alone."

Anakin held the toddler in his arms. Something that had caught the Majordomo off guard. "A kid? Wait, you had a kid?"

"Well, not exactly."

Majordomo Narek had been with the Clan Kar for his whole life. Born into it as his father had been Majordomo before him, while his son was being trained to take over his position from him when the time came. Anakin Skywalker sat before him with the young boy he had found.

His opinion on the Tech-Smith, the new head Tech-Smith, as he had proven more gifted at fixing machines than had been expected, was a bit mixed. He hadn't been one to talk about his past, nor was he one who had been with them long enough to dismiss all doubts, but he hadn't shown any signs of being a spy. Some level of trust was to be given.

"So, you found him in the wilds?"

Anakin had explained that after his retreat into the wilds, he had found the child in the area. He was vague enough on the details, but Geralt had to guess that something was to do with the cylinder device around Anakin's waist.

'Some do practice death by exposure, but it's rare,' Most of the Clans area didn't do it, but Geralt didn't put it past some to cling to that practice. "So, what are you going to do with the boy then?"

The Clan did have a school for Orphans. Care can be given to them. Apprenticeship was offered as they grew up, giving them something of a father or mother figure in their lives. "I was thinking of adopting him."

"Adopting?" Narek was cut off from his thoughts at this. Adaption was what he was going to think, but given how young Anakin was, he didn't expect it. "Very, well I can make some arrangements for what you would need."

"Thank you."

Narek had a small smile at this. Though there was something that needed to be done for the child. If he was going to be adopted by Skywalker, he was going to need a name. "So, what is his name?"

A name? Anakin hadn't thought about that on the way here. Immediately, his mind went to the first name that came to him, but he shot it down. Calling the boy Luke didn't feel right. No, he was going to need to think of a different name.

There was a name that seemed to settle in his mind. Who knows, maybe he was watching over him even here in this far-flung reality, despite having retired into the Netherworld of the Force. "Obi-Wan, his name is Obi-Wan."

Anakin's POV

It was nice, you know. To have a second chance at being a father. Even still, I couldn't let this overtake something else. The questions on what had happened to Obi-Wan, why he had landed in the capsule, and where he actually was from.

The feeling I had in the Force was one that made me aware that the boy was more than he had seemed. There was a power within him, and his presence to me felt like it was containing something else.

"Obi-Wan?" Narek spoke the name for a moment. "Strange name."

"Well, you called my name strange when you heard it," I gave him a sly smile.

"Because it is," Narek just gave me an eye roll. The old man didn't really take to my words beyond mild annoyance, though he had seemed to have gotten used to it. "Who even has Skywalker as a last name?"

Oooh. Sounds interesting. Can't wait to see how this goes along and progresses. Also can't wait to see the first meeting with the Imperium or the Mechanicum to be more specific. Bet Anakin is not gonna vibe with their cargo cult mentality.

I mean he isn't a scientist. He's an engineer... and the Admec are basically a cargo cult of engineers. Though to be fair it gets worse in in ten thousand years.

Why do you keep changing points of views just to keep following Anakin?

I found out that given how pov writing works I would have to have Anakin either explain everything (when he has no meta knowledge), have everything explained to him, and I can't do scenes with other characters to push along a plot.

Swapping to third pov and to others opens up a lot of writing short hands that makes it easier for me.

Love the story so far.
Amazed that there hasn't been more Anakin in Warhammer stories given his similarity to a certain Primarch.

Diplomacy Lessons New
(A/N) Thanks everyone for the reaction to the First Chapter. Please, if you have anything at all, let me know.

Head Tech-Smith was a role that held a lot of prestige and a bit of political might behind it within a Clan. So much so that Anakin was to join in the Council meetings when they are called. Anakin, who had been married to a Senator and had been the Supreme Commander of the Empire, had some understanding of politics. Much more than anyone here had figured he would be.

Speaking of which, the council of Clan Kar either stood or sat around a large hologram projector. On it was the planet of Taris with lines across the planet's surface, across its large single continent and the few large island masses surrounding it, showing the dominion of each of the Clans. Alongside these two moons orbited around the world those neither were of realistic scale, each one with points of interest on them.

Around Anakin looked at those seated. Majordomo Narek was seated with his son Vasak, his youngest of three children, standing right next to him. Yasak had been here before as part of his training to replace his father.

To his right was the Clan High Fakra, the representative of the local faith. A faith that Anakin had learned was one part philosophy, one part ancestor worship, and another part worshipping a Grand Cosmic Spirit. What they called the Tengri. Her name Anakin, hadn't quite gotten there as she had only shown up once before on the council.

Next to her was the woman who was the representative of the Union Guilds that did many of the functions of society. From mining to farming, trading, and other such things. She was cordial with him, though it was purely professional.

To his sides were the two commanders of their forces. Both of which had different roles in their military. Brothers-in-law, as Anakin had learned.

Finally, the doors opened, and the core figure in this whole thing slowly made his way into the room. The loud sounds of his feet echoed on the wood and the polished stone. Those sounds down to what he was wearing as he took his place on the throne, a suit of Power Armor.

The man wore a helmet that had the plating of a cat creature on it with slits its for the eyes. At his side, in his hands, was a giant sword. The weapon seemed like a primitive blade at a glance but Anakin had seen the thing and knew it was anything but.

"Knyaz Timur, what is so urgent that you called the council?" Narek questioned as he looked at the Knyaz of the Clan Kar.

Timur turned over his lion helmet, moving towards Narek. Despite the lack of facial features, most could read his emotions simply by how he leaned on the table. "As you know, travel has been far easier beyond the system. The great Astral Storms have come to an end."

Anakin heard the murmurs from the two commanders near him. Astral Storms were the name given to the issue that limited their faster-than-light drives. Anakin had yet to see one of their ships despite his position. Mainly because Clan Kar didn't actually have any. At least directly under them. From what he knew, the major clans like Kar had a close relationship with void Clans who inhabited across the system.

"If that's the case, wouldn't this mean that it's possible to have more constant contact with other systems now?" Anakin cut in as everyone turned over to their Tech-Smith.

One of the commanders, the one on Anakin's left, spoke up with a nod in agreement. "Yes, though there if we can, it also stands to reason so can our future foes and enemies."

Anakin POV

I watched, listened, and commented as the council of Clan Kar was informed on what was to happen. A meeting to hash out how they will go about the future. Not only for Taris but for the whole system and beyond. I knew what was being inferred by it.

Expansion. The seat of an empire of its own. Taris was in a position to do so. The other inhabited planets in the system didn't have nearly the means to contest it, and the few systems they had sporadic contact with would either fold to a united Taris, or would be conquered under them.

I wanted to eye roll about a bunch of nobles thinking about power. However, it would be hypocritical of me to roll my eyes at such a thing. When I married Padme, I did technically become nobility as far as Naboo was concerned.

Walking back into my quarters. There was a bit of a mess of designs, some half-finished scraps, and the like. "You're back from the meeting?"

I turned over to see Obi-Wan, who was putting down the toys I had made for him. One was a Star Destroyer and the other was an X-Wing. Something I made late one night in the first month that I had my new adopted son. "Yeah, it's was talk about uniting Taris."

"So, like when Grand Knyaz Kresnik tried to unite the world?"

Grand Knyaz? I didn't know everything about the history of this world, but I had heard of Vakhtang. Timur's family was said to have both been his opposition, but they are also claiming descent from him. Political marriage, maybe, Taris didn't have such things.

"If you mean they would do some conquering, it doesn't look like that," I took a seat on one of the chairs near my desk. My eyes were on the host of failed Lightsaber crystals that I had used as decoration. "They might try something more along the lines of diplomacy."

Obi-Wan looked at me with an expression that I recalled some younglings at the temple having. The kind of inquisitive look that some kids had. "Wait, do you think that would work?"

Did I think they could pull it off? If I were honest, not really. At least not fully, as the Great Clans had a history of conflict with each other. Most likely, some will agree with their own factions. "It doesn't hurt to try diplomacy when you can."

"But you don't think it would work?"

"... No I don't," I was truthful with him. No point in telling him a lie that couldn't come to pass. "Though there is no shame in trying diplomacy if you can."

Diplomacy was something that Padme would have tried. Negotiating was something that Old Obi-Wan was famous for. I was never really good at either. Intimidation though, was something that I had a lot of practice in. One could argue that it was a form of diplomacy.

I looked at the table nearby at a book that rested half open. Seeing the cover was unnecessary as I knew exactly what it was about. Obi-Wan had a thing for history, for the past of the Taris, and the galaxy in general, which reminded me of something.

Where the Clans are to meet, it was the oldest standing Fortress that was more of a temple now. "You know, if you want, you can come with us to Kyivogorod."

The look in his eyes at this. Yeah, I had to fight back the fatherly knowing smile. "Really? The First Fortress, the place where Grand Knyaz Kresnik was crowned, and which had been the seat of his throne?"

Huh, that's why the meeting was taking place there? Makes sense that the call to unite the world will take place at the seat where someone had nearly succeeded. Somehow a bit ironic if diplomacy can succeed where conquest failed.

Third POV

The dry heat of the air around Kyivogorod and the beating sun. These were the first things Anakin noticed as he stepped off the transport alongside the rest of Knyaz Timur's delegation. Kyivogorod was in a mountainous area, on the side closer to one of the great deserts.

The fortress itself was partly carved into the mountain. It had clearly seen better days, but it still seemed viable as a place of defense. Slowly around the transport, the half machines worked. Anakin had seen them on occasion.

He was always unsettled by them. Instead of droids, they choose to use either corpses of the greatest criminals or dead brain clones and mix them with machinery. "This really is Kyivogorod."

Obi-Wan looked on with amazement in his eyes as he walked down with the delegation. As they came down, he looked at the half-standing statues and the pillars with worn images on them. Most would have a hard time seeing some of the images, but Obi-Wan could see them after a few moments of looking for the outlines.

A hand was placed on his shoulder. Turning upwards, he saw Anakin."Hey, let's focus on the meeting afterwards, we'll do some sightseeing."

Obi-Wan gave a nod in understanding. At the front of the group, Timur had a chuckle with was muffled by his helmet. "Your boy love of history is something to be admired Anakin."

Timur stopped as he saw who it was who came out to greet them. It was a man in his late thirties. A man whose right eye was replaced by a glowing red object, and whose left hand was visibly metallic. His dress was in flak armor, but over it were the robes of the nobility of a Clan one whom Timur recognized immediately. Clan Serbs, and old rival Clan to Clan Kar.

"Knyaz Stefan, I see that you came to greet us," Timur's words were professional, hiding any sort of bad blood that would exist between them.

"Yes, I am the first, it seems, though not the last," Stefan shared a cordial response to his fellow Knyaz. Despite the unspoken tension between them, Stefan gave Timur a smile. "Though for what it is worth, perhaps we might find common ground in this meeting."

One after another, more of the Clans showed up. Alongside those that were already here. Sixteen Clans that ruled Taris, each one with the Knyaz and their delegations. Anakin felt like there was something amiss going on.

It started with the appearance of Clan Vlad. The one Clan that was known for being pushed off Taris twice, only to return from its Moons. They had come with two others, Clan Peris, and Clan Kurds, their two close allies.

All three were keeping to themselves, and each seemed to have something wrong with them. Anakin could feel the subtle warning from the Force once he met them. With that, he noticed how they spoke; it seemed normal at first, but there was a bit of lifelessness to it.

"Dad?" Obi-Wan's voice caught Anakin from staring at the three Clans. Only now did he realize that his hand was on his lightsaber. "Is something the matter?"

Anakin looked down at his adopted son. Worry was in Obi-Wan's eyes as he could see how his father was looking at them. "It's nothing," Anakin said, giving him a comforting smile. "Come on, let's go check out the building, just you and me."

They both cut off and started to wander around the Fortress. The large chambers and corridors. On the walls were various images showing many worlds, starships, and a few others. One of the less faded showed beings that looked human but with slender frames and pointed ears. Another showed large hulking beings with tusks growing out of their mouths.

"I read about these two, our ancestors used to encounter them before the storms had hit," Obi-Wan commented, talking about the rather turbulent relationship with two species called the Aeldari and the Orks. "Grand Knyaz Kresnik even fought a host of more primitive Orks on one of the worlds that could have been reached."

Obi-Wan went on about the battle and about what was recovered from it. As he did, Anakin, who was seemingly listening to it, nodded along. However, his attention wasn't fully on it. No, he knew that someone had been following them.

Whomever they are, they were good at hiding themselves. Most probably wouldn't have picked up on them shadowing their target. Unfortunately for the would-be assassins, Anakin had the Force with him and had some experience with shadowy assassins.

Two figures walked behind with their hands on their weapons. Waiting for the signal to take out the child who was with the Tech-Smith. Their leader of the group gripped the laspistol at the ready.

The sounds of several explosions echoed through the Fortress.

Anakin POV

No sooner had I heard the explosions than I felt the Force warning me. I gripped my lightsaber and turned around. A pistol aimed not at me but at Obi-Wan!

My blade was ignited as he fired a ray of red, coming out as my blade blocked it, deflecting the rays to the side. "What the…"

My other hand went out as I unleashed a Force Push, knocking them both off their feet and into the wall. I pulled my hand back as the weapons were pulled to me as I marched up to them both. Grabbing them both with the Force, I pinned them against the wall as my blade was placed over the neck of the one who fired.

"Talk," My tone was calm, but I gave him a glare. My emotions raged, but after a lifetime of being slaved to them, I had gained the kind of control that I had never been able to. "What is going on!"

He looked at me and spoke. "I am not telling you anything…"

I believed him as I heard his words. At the very subtle signs in his tone, like those from the three Clans I had been worried about. A sigh escaped my lips. I knew what had to be done in order to get what I wanted. Raising my hands, I reached for the familiar sensation at the edge of myself.

The Dark Side never leaves you after all. For me, it was a constant companion in my life. Even as a Force Ghost, it was still there. The only difference is that it was more tame. Still, dangerous, still demanding and consuming, but tame under the mastery of oneself that I had achieved.

I reached into his mind. Reaching into the thoughts and the plans. To kill my son, to kill or capture the various Clan leaders. I felt something retaliate at me. My mental barriers were raised by the Force as it slammed against it. A large bat-like creature stared back into my mind's eye. The moment I saw it was the moment I stopped the Mind Probe.

A name echoed in my mind. Not a name of the creature personally but what it was.

Khrave.

When I see Anakin tinkering with machines, I'm immediately reminded of Mechu Deru, the Force power that involves technology, which I think he used as a child to create C-3PO (and which he used as Darth Vader to secure his fortress on the lava planet).

He tinkered with Star Wars ships so he should have some knowledge on how hyperdrives (game changer given warp over reliance) work, trying to combine that with Warhammer space mechanics is unknown process though.
