Great first chapter! I'm a bit confused though... what exactly is the Codex?
Oooh mysterious, I like it, I felt the dragged out part you were saying there, that brawl with the 5 guys was very long but not bad, It was a little boring after a while because it was just 5 normal guys hitting each other... but it wasn't bad overall, you had my attention with that mysterious book, don't know how I feel about learning magic with the ancient one (kinda didn't like the dr strange movie), I liked that shield didn't mysteriously find out MC because of "high energy readings" or something, not much to say beyond that but it's definitely in my watched list. Good luck bro
It does? Another person said they had similar traits. Haven't watches Black Clover yet, but from what I can see, I see it now. I mean, you yourself have to make a spell in order to have a hotkey spell ready, then you can have it. Sorry, shouldve done some reseach on spell books, this chap is made a few months ago, so there might get anothet look at it.
True, and im a bit sad the MCU couldn't have them right off the bat. I'm sure you're concerned how mixing them together now causes a few dilemmas in the history. Don't worry, i plan on touching on those fields so its adjusted for the story. Besides, with proper care, it can be the fine additon when picturing a "What if" for the X-Men and F4 collide with MCU, and i do intend to put a lot of effort to properly mixing them together.Huh the thing that always bugs me about this universe DC and marvel is how the different types for lack of a better word don't mix you don't see iron man around mutant and magic is off doing its on thing most of the time. Only In fanfiction do you see them meting let alone mixing.
That was cool, like always the fights were great
I enjoyed how you portrayed it
And he does make good plans
Just need to be a bit more careful with the saving people thing
Save people but don't be stupid about it, it's better to have a plan and be patient
I like the magic stuff
And good work with stealing vibranium
Wouldn't Klau leave at least one person to guard his most priced possession?
It's okay in this case as he's not expecting a magician
And underestimated our boi
I like that's he's got some skills now, he can handle the low level threats easily. Even medium threats can be taken out with some creativity
He's going against Osborn and sheild(Hydra) has him their radar
Things are gonna get complicated very fast
Thanks! But I feel like your catching on why his "saving people plan" was a bit less though out. He's learning as he goes, something i found very interesting to do for this paticular MC. It was more acting on instinct than anything, but he'll have to plan quicker and more carefuly on these situations. As for Klau, I mean he did have some guards, but as the layout of the ship allowed multiple holes for our Magician to abuse them, so he didn't really expect that.
Oh yeah, Osborn and Hydra will be a fun and difficult bunch to handle. But he does have a plan and counter measures for SHIELD (as the data inside is all going to Hydra), so he will kill two birds with one stone with careful planing. Osborn is a bit down the road, as i need more plot ideas to make him an even bigger threat. Been thinking about including a bit older Peter Parker into the story as (in my opinion) the MCU version didn't do him full justice. That's all in the air, and have lots go over before then.
Nice chapter. The only problem I have is with the fight against the extremis soldier. It feel artificial. He could just have made a portal closer to him restrain him and inject him with the cure. Maybe a shorter fight. I don' t know, it just feels too long considering all the advantages the MC has. With portals, teleportation and astral form he should act more like a stealth rogue than an artillery mage.
I don't know a whole lot about Marvel comics, but didn't they make hatred of mutans an alien (Skrull?) virus? Or was that fanon? I hope that's not a thing, here. I suspect it wouldn't be, since this is MCU-verse.
Good luck dealing with Hydra.

No sleeping spells? SEP fields? Invisibility? You're a mage not a brawler.
If he put everyone to sleep he wouldn't have been in danger or let the enemy know what he's capable of.Been thinking about that, and didn't fit that kind of style I wanted to go for, at the time of writing this. I'll be honest, I wanted to go with a Mage-Brawler type than the same old backline mage. I'd find id boring otherwise. Its his steeping stones to become a better magic user in the long run.
