The 1977 model year saw one last set of revisions to Nissan's S30 platform. Externally, the design of the bumpers was changed, while under the skin, a larger fuel tank was fitted (requiring the full-sized spare tire to be replaced with a space-saver, as well as some reduction in usable trunk space,) while a 5-speed manual transmission became available as an optional upgrade to the car.
