Trampling Sincerity (Nolan si/oc-insert)

Let me Clarify, there's a Flaxan/ Vultrimite hybrid YouTube videos describing the terrifiying potential addition to the Grayson household that hybrid clone Nolan Grayson Omniman SI bought back from the Flaxan dimension.
THERE IS?!?! SO COOL!!! but also wtf still cool tho

The cabinet behind him cracked further and she saw him flinch at the sound, saw fresh horror flood his expression. He was afraid of himself. Afraid of what he might do.

She shoved back the realisation of what Viltrum really was, of what system Nolan had grown up in, that he clearly saw how wrong it was, how hurt he had been by it, and yet she saw how he couldn't bring himself from not believing in it still.
The second paragraph seems out of place. That was already written a few lines prior. Did you copy and paste it by mistake?

Omake/What-if:

Nolan on a walk with Oliver, and [description of Angstrom Levy] shows up and starts monologing. Boom green portal.

Boom Nolan and Oliver are in another world.

Oliver is mostly viltrumite looking now, the faint green tinge only present near his articulations

Nolan is confused, but resolute, he'll find the fucker again or an other way to return to Debbie and Mark.

some things happen

He sees kids gratifying Omni-man hate murals.

He pauses, looks around, looks at a camera.

HE wonders when the GDA will notice them. With the beard it might- no, face-recognition algorithms are not that bad government wise.

Nolan was already noticed, then.

Well, in a different dimension at it were, he might as well see if it is one where Debbie and Mark lived well post his alternate going crazy. This is clearly one close to the canon timeline.

He walks to an alley then flies, Oliver giggles in his hold, "Higher Papa!"

They arrive home, or at least the home he and his family lived in in their dimension.

He lands, hears, Mark, voice a bit deeper than he was used to, hears Debbie, she sounds livid.

Nolan knocks on the door.

"Daddy, why knock?" Oliver asks him.

"Because we're not home Ollie," he answers.

The boy considered this for a moment.

"'Kay," he decided, and tucked his chin back against Nolan's shoulder.

Nolan listened.

There was no such thing, for a Viltrumite, as the polite fiction of not overhearing. No standing outside a door and being spared what was happening on the other side of it. His hearing had never offered him that particular mercy and it did not offer it now.

Five heartbeats inside.

Six if he counted his son's.

Debbie's voice sounded.

He almost stopped breathing.

It was her voice, but it also wasn't. He'd never heard her so angry. Not like this. Never.

"I'm- I'm trying to apologise," came another, one that made him pause, mind snapping to recordings of himself. Oh.

"You think you can apologise? After killing thousands?" She snapped. "After- After what you did to my sons?"

"Mommy's angry," Oliver whimpered, tears gathering in his arms.

Nolan shifted his hold, "shhh, baby I know," he wiped the tears away, "We're in a different dimension Oliver, alright? That's not mommy."

"But she angry," he whined burring his face into the side of Nolan's neck. "Lo-oud," came the shaky whimper.

Nolan tries to rock him.

They really should leave, but-

Nolan hesitated.

They'd need help to get back home.

Nolan knocked.

The arguing stopped.

Minutes passed, Nolan knocked again.

The door opened.

Mark. Invincible.

Taller than his Mark.

One that was 18 or more.

Months older than his son.

"Dad-"

"Not quite," Nolan said.

"Who's this?"

His counterpart appears from behind his own son.

Debbie was not far behind.

Nolan- Nolan knew intellectually what he looked like, saw himself in the mirror everyday. But seeing himself, like this.

He saw what he tried to hide. The stress, the exhaustion, the self-doubt.

He saw it.

The face of a soldier.

He was wearing this awful low-cut/shoeless ensemble.

"You look like shit," Nolan said to his other self.

"Shit," a small voice giggled into his neck.

Nolan's eyes widened. "Oh- crap." His head snaps down to Oliver, "Don't you repeat that in front of your mother when we get back." He says to his son deliberately ignoring his family's counterparts looking at them.

"What is going oon," says a distinctly teenage voice, a purple teenager flies over the group, staring at the both of them owlishly. "Is that a baby? Wait! That guy looks like dad if he forgot to shave for like a year, is it like with the other Invincibles?"

Nolan blinked at him confused, gaze trailing over the others.

Debbie was very very still in his periphery. She also looked livid, and like she was barely holding it back.

"Great now there's two of you!" she snapped.

"Mommy?" Oliver whimpered, voice a wobble, arm stretched out towards his Mother's counterpart. Nolan held Oliver more securely, ready to redirect any possible attack from the two other Viltrumites. "I wAnt MOmmY!" his son shrieked, trying to push himself out of Nolan's hold, making Nolan wince and tighten his hold.

The baby screamed, arms and legs flailing.

The baby that looked so much like Mark had was still screaming, small hand extended towards her, bright teary blue eyes accusing.

She felt her face soften, she felt anger bubble in her chest heavy and burning and much too familiar, "What's his name?"

"His name is Oliver," her ex-husband's bearded doppelganger answered, it felt like a blow.

The silence that settled felt heavy and interspersed with the toddler's tantrum.

"… And who are you?" the man then directed his question above their heads, Debbie spun, it was Oliver, purple/pink skin and gangly teenage limbs floating in the air.

The boy landed on the floor behind them and pushed passed them, standing next to her, feet on the ground and chest puffed out and hands on his hips, looking every bit like a peacock. "My name's also Oliver, nice to meet you Dad's alternate!" his hand shot out, extending for a shake.

The bearded Nolan's jaw twitched, it nearly looked like a smile, then his gaze flickered towards the space nazi-like piece of shit behind her, with something that looked like disproval after a weighty second of blankness.

"Oh yeah? That's a great name isn't it? My wife was the one to choose his," he finished poking the small Oliver's cheek, the toddler's mouth snapping over the index like a crocodile.

The two Nolan's looked like they were having a staring contest over the two Olivers.

"Oliver, Mark, Adam Eve, could you please take my Oliver upstairs? I think us adults need to have a talk," the bearded man said after a while, an affable smile on his face. He took a step forwards and passed the toddler to Mark, patting her eldest's shoulder then ruffling her Oliver's long dark strands as he returned to where he'd originally stood.

the kids went upstairs.

Debbie stepped in the house, ignoring the tension between the two men, then sat on the couch facing the two men that had followed her.

"What are you doing here?" She asked them both, only one of them, she didn't know.

"I came here to see if I could get some aid to return to my dimension, i had other options, but this was the most expedient. Although I'm starting to doubt that considering what you seem to have done to the planet," he finished last words directed to his bare-cheeked doppelganger. "But considering how little you actually did… i guess you felt your hand was forced."

Both men were standing nearly chest to chest now, both angry and bodies taught.

Her world's Nolan's jaw was clenched, face twisted in anger.

"Like you didn't do that." Her Nolan accused, Index smashing in his alternate's chest in an accusatory manner, "You think I didn't notice? That child isn't half human."

"He isn't, but at least i didn't betray my mate like you."

Her Nolan looked like he had been struck.

"Pathetic."

the next instant the bearded Nolan's face was facing another direction, her Nolan's fist meeting bearded cheek and wrist grasped in the other Nolan's hand.

"Out of you yet?" bearded Nolan asked hold tightening over the limb.

Debbie's crossed arms tightened over her chest.

"You really didn't realise?"

Her Nolan stayed silent.

What the hell were they talking about? She felt herself grow angrier, Great now she was even compared to a damn mutt.

"no." her Nolan spat.

the tension between the two men felt like it could be cut with a knife.

"Oliver, how?"

"Flaxan cloning attempts," the bearded alien said.

"And you're still with your Debbie?"

"I am." Debbie felt the words like a knife to her chest, but the question that followed added turned confusion to the mess of emotions she was feeling. "Do you remember Mother and Father?"

"Who?"

Her wide eyes were on the dimension traveller.

Thanks for the chapter
Ahh tension between the Nolan and TS Nolan Grayson Omniman SI intense as Debbie Grayson is missing a lot of context between the her two NolanGrayson ,which had Debbie Grayson in the dark about mother and Father of Nolan Grayson childhood.
Looking forward to more revelations with Grayson family from TP Nolan Grayson Omniman SI.
My best speculation guesses!

Chapter 5 2/2 - End of Introductory Arc New
Nolan was told of the kaiju breaching the pacific ocean's crust ten minutes ago.

The ocean sprawled thousands of feet under him was calm. It was vast. It was life.

It was innevitable, he thought mind wandering towards the subject of evolution seeing the long ondulations of the wave.

If the prognosis he had been given, and what his own experience creating earthquakes were to say anything, it was that a tsunami would follow in the coming hours, devastating islands and coasts.

Cecil had called him and two other Guardians of the Globe capable of flight.

"I would be going faster if you weren't speaking to me," he grumbled, knowing the comm's integrated mic would pick up on his exact tone, before breaching Mach 5 somewhere over what he believed to be international waters, the coast and islands far over the horizon in any given direction.

All he really wanted was to be asleep in bed with his mate.

The details of the waves on surface blurred together, forming one vast featureless expense.

Maybe he should stop… he considered, lacking information he only now realised he had not been given when he had still been at the house.

Minutes later, he stopped, the comm stuck behind his ear clicking to life, its moving elements recalibrating.

His mind, as always without prompting, returned to his son. To his family. To Mark's laugh during dinner not six hours ago, head thrown back when Nolan had said something particularily derisive. The knowing look Debbie had sent him when he'd hugged her from behind, pulling her away from the sink when she'd started, spinning her around then stealing a kiss from her, grumbling about how she was trying to steal the daily chore Nolan had assigned himself not 4 months ago. Giving her time to read a bedtime story to their baby.

Perhaps he would organise a training excursion in Jupiter's atmosphere-

"Why did you stop moving?" came Cecil's voice through the comm, through his skull.

"Well…" Nolan started, feeling sheepish. The deep blue Atlantic Ocean relfected the sun up at him, diminished but no less blinding, as he stared down at it. "It's not to say I'm lost-"

"You're 50 clicks away, it's east north north from your position."

"East North north, what are? Which- right a human direction thing based on the planetary magnetic field. East is where the sun rises." he muttered to himself, remembering 2nd grade classes from that fading moments of his human life, the memory so distant and so often discarded in favour of using GPS for navigation. The sun rises in the the direction that is walled east. That was the norm on this planet. This backwater planet still so far yet so close to galactic attention.

This planet that he knew would be at the center of the next galactic conflic-

Why could he never be hopefull? he thought tiredly. It had come unbidden, heavy and smashing against his trains of thought with the particular aplomb of an unwelcome guest. He knew why.

'It's not you,' the thought came making his lip quirk up, 'It's me.'

This was, quite honestly, a hilarious thought.

"Wow, I didn't know the great Omni-Man had such a poor sense of direction," Cecils snarked.

"Of shove off," Nolan grumbled, "It's not like this is my 50th language or anything… it's truly a miracle how well I've integrated in this united-Stadian culture already." He continued, not hiding the truth his past self had most likely hidden. The truth that he had traveled all across the empire, or planets that had, after his arrival, been forced to submit to Viltrumite rule.

"50. That's a lot of languages," he heard from the comm as he oriented himself with the sun, gravity folding around his skin at his nudges. "And no one says United-Stadian.3

"Well, I do. And 50 is not that many if you consider the greater galaxy," he mumbled before breaking the sound barrier, quantum gravity folding, streching, bonds pulling him faster towards the wanted direction..

One.

Two.

fifty.

His eyes caught sight of bright mauve and deep purple.

He stopped.

The air exploded outwards. All around him, molecules flying every which way and mostly towards the direction he had been flying towards, creating a void. The conflagration made his eye twitch when it came, air pulling back towards him.

Nolan hovered there, as if standing on air, gaze scanning the large 50 kilometers in diameter chaotic army—individual animals, monsters, climbing over eachother then slipping and smashing back into the water.

"ETA?" he asked seeing the multitude of monsters swiming through the water others flying through the air.

"20 minutes why?"

"You did say the area seemed to be under some kind of cloaking technology," he mused aloud, starting to count how many there were.

"Fri'dsm-lic!" he cursed aloud in Tri'Vml, doging the-

The word tasted like ash in his mouth.

Not because of the meaning—though it could if literaly translated to english, be considered a rather juvenile insult. Although as he recalled 'core flimsy worm' had been considered the declaration of incipid weakness, a blatent declaration of emnity back before the Scourge… And after now that Nolan though about it.

He blinked, eyes widening, how had he forgotten he was in-

"Fuck. Where did you even come from?" he felt heat blossom on his behind.

You cannot be serious, he thought in disbelief, seeing the thing attempt to jump at him. he let himself free fall, controlling his descent. He stopped at the height of the fish-bird yellow and pink-fushia thing.

But, to return to his previous though, perhaps as justification of cause- or as an excuse… to call oneself fri'dsm-lic, as he recalled, bored lesser connotations of weakness, considering it was usual for a warrior to expect or seek better capabilities and growth. The insult was almost cute, affectionate in the right context. Almost.

His cheeks felt tense-

Oh
. Nolan was smiling.

Nolan backhanded the monster, sending it towards the annoyingly large pink and purple mass, making it cease its tumbler like gurggle, a sound similar to the one Oliver made when he angrily demanded his bottle after a much too short, in both he and Debbie's opinion, nap.

He punched through another that jummed at him like a particularly clumsy sentient flayl. A crunch, bone and black tar-like blood sprayed the air. It twitched like the newly corpses did, even as it fell towards the writhing mass beneath, floating on the ocean's surface.

"You're going to have to decribe what you see, we don't have eyes on the situation." he heard the GDA director's crisp voice in his ear. "And what was that thing you said?"

Nolan felt like he should feel something. He also felt like this though was reccurent. Perhaps he should stop?

The horrors of battle no longer clashed with his human moral compass- well. To call it human in itself was an absurdity, human could be rather cruel. Monstrous.

Perhaps this was the fashion by which his mind had managed to adapt- or he'd simply grown numb months- years ago as he ended lives over and over. Decimating cities.

He'd killed billions. Tens, if not hundreds of billions.

He had no redeeming qual- well he did. But there was no redemption for a Viltrumite. Simply the further non participation to such acts.

He'd grown to used to, had accepted. Had internalised facets of his history most individuals in the universe would be rendered ill by.

Nolan had grown efficient in his monstrosity at least. If that was all the good one like him could do to the world, then he guessed, that it would have to do.

Be he wanted- how he wanted. To show and prove to Debbie, and Mark and Oliver on day, how he fared against their view of him as someone admirable.

He wasn't. but he could dream.

Nolan blinked, Cecil's words playing back in his mind.

"It's Tri'Vml for 'core flimsy worm'," he dodged another fire ball, "what is this Naruto?" he asked no-one, especially not the fire spewing fushia eal that was attempting to launch itself at his face, "It's the equivalent to someone saying 'fuck my battle awareness is shit and the king is going to tear the heard out of my chest'," he continued, not overly aware of the words leaving his mouth, translating in the midst of battle, saying he had never thought to or used since waking up on earth twelve years ago—well, he admited, not that it's been this long from the point of view of people residing on the planet—from his planet-tongue, one of Viltrum's past three most proeminent languages.

"Well that's an odd way to curse," Cecil said.

"Kinda fell out of use after the king's death and the subsequent-" he cut himself off, grabing a pink and yellow fire spitting fish up by the tail, hand clamping onto the meat of its gills, then tearing its skeleton out in one swift movement. "Oh! This didn't taste as great as I thought," he gagged dropping the carcasse, spitting out the black blood and meat that had entered his mouth.

Oh, that's foul.

"Did you just eat a kaiju?"

"No, I didn't," Nolan said before gathering spit in his mouth and sending the discusting blob at a flying hyrdra thing that jumped at him, redirecting it's course back to the water, "Eating implies swallowing. And I regret to inform you but this is not a kaiju."

"If it's not a kaiju, then, what is it?"

"I'd say…" he trailed off, "an army of undead hellbeasts," he continued after two seconds wherein he had flown, punching through five giant snakes slithering over the water's surface.

"I think you should call, uh, Damian Dark… ?" Nolan blinked, wrong multiverse, "Hell'tective? whatver you know who I mean," he continued voice full of confidence in this world's GDA–he remembered from a conversation where Debbie dropped their name while speaking about Nolan saving the world—not Sheildra organisation director's capabilities to know or at least find out who or rather what Nolan was thinking about.

"You want me to call Damien Blood," he head the director of the GDA deadpan.

Nolan hummed in acquiecence, dodging spikes and fire, knowing how they would tear through his new suit courtesy of Art noting his need for a change in wardrobe.

The hood flew off his head and landed on his shoulders as he twisted over a rusted obsiden looking bladed whip.

Nolan caught it, his eyes widened when he felt the teeth dig the slightenest bit into the sink to his palms.

He stilled, head turning. Finding the culprit.

His teeth bared.

The viltrumite pulled.

"On what grounds?"

"On the grounds that these are fire spitting, rot tasting, black blooded monsters each having one of your hell sigils of that fallen Samael guy." Nolan said after making a 'come here' gesture to one that created an energy platform to stand on.

"Samael," cecil stated.

"Yeah the ruler of hell in your christian religion."

"You mean Lucifer."

"Now. Call your damn consultant and tell me what the other's ETA is, I don't have much-" he cut himself off using a snake that was reviving itself as a living whip turning monters into mush, and the ones he did not succeed to destroy render incapacitated for the next few minutes at least.

Cecil's voice cam through the comm, measured and calm in a way that made Nolan want to tear at with his teeth. "You seem to know a lot about Earth religiou iconography for someone that called our various religious attachment and heritage, cute and childish. Don't tell me you've started believing in one of them."

"Urg, will," whip, "You," whip, monster roars felt like they were bursing his ear drums, he lost his grasp on gravity for a fraction of a second, "Hftek!" he finished by cursing nearly biting off his lower lip and punching a tooth out with his tongue.

"Well you have to admit," Nolan started after he managed to detatch a small octopus like monter off his face with a grimace. "After 20 years on this planet I learned a thing or two, you know how it is. One can only grow," he grunted batting jumping monsters back to the ocean, punching through a dozen more. "Attached. Especially with how Hollywood seemes attached to your christianity thing and I also started taking a liking to these Bollywood musicals. They're hilarious."

"And the sigil you talked about?"

"Do you really think such symbols didn't exist before your so called 'begining of written history'? I've seen this symbol on another planet once. Lets just say, there wasn't much left alive on that world's…" Nolan paused, searching for the word, nearly cursing aloud when these dead maggots kept throwing themselves at him, annoying him to the point where a polite conversation seemed unlikely. "Can we call that biosphere? I don't suppose so. I guess atmosphere will do then. Whatever, the guy's name was Sheh'vah. Maybe it was a general. I don't care. I just don't want earth to end up like Koor-V5."

"Right."

"War Woman and Green Ghost are 4 minutes out," he heard Donald say, "Contacting Damien Blood now."

In the end the monsters were dealt with and Nolan was dreading having to show up to Art's workshop and ask for a new suit design and nano-fabrics, the shoulder stitches had fused. The materials having been subjected to extreme temperature changes and that acid spewing dragon.

He could still taste the damn thing's breath, he thought not daring to breathe through his nose.

He pulled his phone out of his pocket, and started reading the many messages that had accrued during his 4 hours of battle, keeping the army in place as the GDA gathered the resourses to stop this rampaging immortal reanimated army.

"I think you could use a dip to clean this off," came an amused voice behind him, the helicopter landing on the ocean far enough away that its constantly spining rotors did not drown out her voice.

"You think?" He said a sly smirk on his face an idea coming to him, turning towards War Woman.

Seeing the fish hero and green ghost chatting in the corner of his vision. "Aquarus, Green ghost!" He shouted in the next instant, not giving the superpowered woman time to reply, towards them attracting their attention, "Do you also think I need a bath?" He asked his small grin hidden by his black blood drenched beard—it smelled disgusting, and too much like Reg'Luir's galacticly known delicacy.

"OooH! Hell yeah!" Green ghost shouted, the woman starting to laugh seeing his face. She turned towards Aquarius, "Give him the shower of a lifetime please!" She started to laugh.

A cackle like thing that sounded so agressivly unapologetocally young and happy that it made his chest ache. Sometimes he wondered if he'd ever been so unburdened.

He heard War woman snort next to him.

Nolan felt his eye crinkle.

"Omni-man," the aquatic hero started, "I do belive you need one," the king said in a proper manner before smirking, "But i must acquiess with green ghost."

"Do your worst," Nolan said with a large grin.

Water rose.

It was not a gentle column. It was a stream, one that rose vertically before falling towards him in a way that reminded him of a dam's valves just being opened for the first time.

"Oh my god, this is going to be, like, so good!" He saw green ghost pull a small bar shaped camera out from behind her back, "This is totally going to the group chat, no cap!"

The water came down like a torrent, it pulled at his costume, more sutures giving. Nolan grinned, flying out of the stream catching War woman by the arm then dragging her to join him.

He dropped her feeling the other shoulder's stiches give .

He grinned, feeling dried clumps of blood pull themselves off his beard, he passed a hand through his hair gingerly holding his suit to his chest, the fabric nearly tearing because of the water.

He laughed zooming out of the shower after ruffling as much blood out of his hair and rubbing it out of his beard, he held what was left off the top half of his suit over his belly button laughing all the while, feeling the fabric sag at his waist.

He heard more than saw Aquarus guffaw, the water stoping just a few seconds after it started.

"Oh? directly to the group chat, this is deafenetly a monthly bestoff!" he heard green ghost cheer, "free month of pizza here i cOoommme," she sing sung, the digital click of the camera audible despite thetorrant of water.

He heard spluttering behind him, he half turned towards the dreanched warrior, "A shower too much for your feminine sensitivities?" he teased her knowing full well she had been two second from dunking him into the ocean not a minute ago, "fair's fair. Isn't that the saying?"

War woman was floating in the water belly up and starfished, her hair pieces askew and a glare directed at him. Her hair was splattered to her face, the side of her belt holding her mace noticably diping toawrds the deapth.

Nolan figured she was not sinking because she was actively using her flight to correct her position.

She sat straight up, the display an impressive show of core muscle streagh for anything other than a viltrumite having woken their powers.

"You," she growled, "are a dead man."

"Now I didn't know you to be so binary," Nolan said amused, offering her his hand.

She stared at his outstreached hand like it was a trap.

Nolan waited, hand still extended.

She took it, pulling him in one sharp movement he did not expect and rolled into the water flinging his deep towards the deapths.

Nolan laughed, inhaling water.

He surfaced, hunched over spluttering and caughing out water, heaving laughetr all the while, shoulders shaking, the pain treaing at him from his lungs ignorable.

"Fair's fair," she said, he looked up, she was flying above him, "isn't that the saying?"

Nolan laughed full bellied bent over backwards, his body forming an upturned U over the ocean, hair dipping in the water, pulling the drenched scrap of a costume up to his waist when he felt it loosen arouond his hips.

"Well," Nolan said as magnanimously as he coukd, "at least we're clean now."

Nolan straightened himself, one hand still holding the ruined suit, the other pushing his drenched hair backwards. "Don't send this to the GG and Co group," Nolan said already knowing his fate.

He could feel the amusement flow off Green Ghost, could feel her smirk. "No can do Nolan," she saw her shoulders shake.

"Green Ghost… My Wife will see this," Nolan said in defeated amusement.

He felt an arm wrap over his shoulders, "And we all will savour your pain you arrogant bastard." War woman said, with a teeth-bared smile.

"Now that's a low blow, I'm not that bad," Nolan paused, feeling the silent judgement in everyone's gaze. His head snapped sideways, looking away from the three guardians, "Fine I have my moments." he admited after a beat.

"Moment?" Green ghost wheezed out. "You got dunked after offering a hand to Holly. "

"I was trying to be chevalrous." He replied with a small smile, well aware he was the butt of the joke yet enjoying this atmosphere.

"You were being a menace," war woman said with a smirk directed at him.

He made a 'who me' gesture

"You're all terrible people," Nolan said in a light joking tone before beats later, he bid his goodbyes, then flew away.

"You're all terrible people," Omni-man said in a light manner that sounded too much like an insult and not enough like the joking tone he had most likely been aiming for.

Holly sighed after seeing him turn to a dot in the distant sky.

"Something has changed," Aquarus stated, sounding worried.

"Yeah," Holly said, her smirk fading, "he's been different for months."

A beat passed.

"Yeah the entire Earth noticed," Alana said. "The beard? The three week dip in him going out to save people four months ago? Not to add the Flaxan portal he went through… Do we know what happened to him on the other side?"

The silence that followed her green teamate's question, in addition of the larger than life hero that had just left, felt significant, conveyed—in this wordless manner that always seemed to surprise Holly—the worry they had all been shelving for the past half a year.

Aquarius lowered himself in the water until the liquid covered his mouth, in a small attempt to hide the curl of his wide lips. He exhaled through his mouth, bubbles formed.

"He seems more settled." The king stated his characteristic optimism for personal matters shining through. Or perhaps it was an attempt to show his trust in Omni-man. "We should offer help, not force it on a man still fighting his own battles," the water wielder said in a slightly reproachful tone.

Her grip on her mace's pommel tightened, the damp leather of her glove streaching uncomfortably against her palm, sutures digging into the webbing of her fingers.

"How's Mark?" Holly settled on after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, "James is with him right?"

"Yeah," Alana said more subdued then when Nolan had been with them, "He said he was going to put the kid through his paces, teaching him a thing or two about sudblety."

The corner of Holly's lip quirked up, "And what was Omni-man's reaction to this?" she asked her bubbly teammate.

Aquarus barked out a laugh, his smile audible in his voice, "I too am curious what our impetuous friend's reaction was to his son learning from Darkwing."

Alana's shoulders shook with her repressed laughter.

"Oh you know him," she said, her voice dropping to something more theatrical, more intimate—it's just her gossip voice, Holly thought in amusement. "'My son, my son,' he said in his insitent tone like he's making a point he think is obvious but no one knows what he's talking about—kinda odd if you consider how renouned he is as an author." Alana waved her hand, gesturing animatedly with every word seemingly acting like Nolan had, "Anyway. 'Learn from you,' he'd finished. And then James bristled like the angry porcupine he is and replied 'How about some suddlety and patience, kid really needs it considering who raised him.'"

Holly smiled, already knowing what was coming, her eyes met Aquarus' who seemed to have similar thoughts considering the smirk he sported.

Alana's laughter rung out, comming in wheezes, then was cut by small cry when she lost grasp of her flight and plummeted towards the water.

She caught herself, rising back up. "He was-" she laughed, "He looked so offended and then said 'Debbie did a perfectly good job raising Mark' and would not accept any of James' appologies about how Nolan though his wife was being critisised when it was him!" she covered her mouth when her fit of laughter restarted. "And then Abraham and said some shit that ended with him also trying to get Nolan's forgiveness!!!"

Holly couldn't hold her laughter at that, "Abraham?" she mannaged to gasp out between barks of laughter, "why did he even think butting in in a conversation where James of all people is trying to get Nolan's near impossible to get forgiveness when his wife is critisized in any way-"she finished with a weaze.

"I kknnnooww!!" Alana said happily, "The man's such a simp for his wife it's romantic! Take notes Aquarus-" she paused, "although don't carve a ring for your own wife out of irradiated heavy metals. I still can't believe Cecil had Donald explain thier effects on the human body and how deadly heavy metals can be."

"Your doubt is near injurious," the king said in a deadpan.

Holly lost it.

Nolan was sipping coffee, eyes distant and unfocused, when the call came, Debbie nudging his right shoulder, pressing a kiss to the left side of his neck the next instance. "Hmm?" he hummed, having been aware, peripherally of his mate answering a call in his vacinity, much like he was aware of his youngest's deep sleep-slow breathing coming from his room upstairs, his snot filled small nose whisling with ever inhale and exhale.

"He's still feverous?" he asked voice sounding like gravel and smashing stones.

"No," she said, pulling on one of his shoulders making the pivot chair shriek painfully in his ears—he noted how he'd need to oil the mechanisms—as it turned until he faced her. She cupped his cheek, her lovely eyes quieting the hum that had been creeping in on his much too silent thoughts.

A light fuzzy sensation filled his stomach when their lips met, his hands not knowing where to settle.

They parted.

A beat passed.

Nolan noticed, his heart beating the chamade even as his eyes fluttered close.

He opened them.

He stopped thinking.

Debbie's beautiful brown eyes were on him, the crow's feet at their corners lightly crinkled

Her weight pressing on his thighs as she climbed onto him rendered him speechless.

Oh.

She took his hand in hers, settling it at her waist.

She continued kissing his lips.

She caressed his chest through his t-shirt, fingers tracing shapes with tickling lines.

A hum resonated from his chest, feeling like a near tickle up his jaw.

Eyes fluttered close and heat pooled in his abdomen.

Debbie's lips left his before as if satiated in a manner he couldn't comprehend, she leaned back.

Nolan found himself straightening, chasing after her, not daring to pull her back, leaving her this control he needed her to have.

A groan left him when, in his blindness, he felt her close in, heard her breath shift sideways—then turned to a whimper when pecks trailed down from his lobe to his shoulder.

Blue eyes widened, when he recognised the voice of Mark's not-boyfriend, "We can'ts Mark's-" Nolan attempted, barely catching the whimper that wanted to escape when he felt her tug at the hair at his nape.

The sound of the front door opening reached them.

"Yes Mark's here with William," their son said, took a step, a second, "Oh god!" he spun on his feet palms covering his eyes, facing the door he had just closed, "I can't unsee this. You can't do this here! This is a communal space!" their son whined in an offended tone.

"Oh…" Nolan heard William's surprised voice, "uh- hi Miss and Mister Grayson." the highschooler finished awkwardly waving his hadn towards them.

Nolan felt his bracelet vibrate against his wrist.

His lips tightened and the heat at his navel turned to a boiling heavy stone.

He gently nudged Debbie, bringing her close, kissing her cheekbone, nuzzling the space under her ear, murmurring only for her to hear, "The GDA's calling."

He kissed her then gently urged her to slide off his lap capturing her lips once more.

"Ewww!" Mark continued, "My eyes, it buUrNnns."

He heard a hit, "Come on, they're kind of cute you have to admit," he heard William whisper, low and amused.

Debbie pushed herself off Nolan, only for him to hold her in place a panicked, fluttering thing in his chest. A pathetic plea his wonderful, saint of a wife understood wordlessy.

She sent him a cheeky smile, pressing on his hips ever so slightly, the sensation more noticable than if he hadn't been aroused like a teenager ready for a tumble in the sheets.

Jaw tense, he sent her a mock glare, shaking his head slightly. And cursed the fact perfectly normal and understandable bodily reactions were considered shameful in this United Stadian culture.

Nolan heaved a sigh, expelling all the tortuous pain of having what could have been a magnificent relaxing and enjoyable session of lovemaking with his wife—interupted by the son he gladly bestowed with the title of brat in this very moment.

And annouced to the room, his tone appologetic. "I have to go to, anyways. You kids enjoy the afternoon, I don't know when I'll get back. I'll still take you to this Snooper Dog? signing tomorrow, uh. Yeah." He sent the boys a grin.

"It's Seance Dog, Dad," his eldest deadpanned

"Heard that Mark? You'll finally be able to get that latest comic you bought signed," William teased his best friend, elbowing Nolan's son in the side, receiving a side eye from Mark. "How many is it now? Oh, uh. Right…" The boy rubbed the back of his neck, "Bye Mister Grayson?"

"Bye dad."

He pecked Debbie's lips, not daring to go futher knowing he could bask in her presence for eternity without noticing the passage of time.

"What is it," Nolan asked Cecil in a flat tone already suited and up in the stratosphere.

"I gather you weren't watching the news," he heard the man say in an exasperated sigh.

"No."

"Just tell me where to go and what to expect," Nolan said in a clipped tone, he was done with this. Tired and exasperated, why were there so many cataclism class emergencies he needed to resolve.

"An asteroid's heading directly towards earth, it's big enough to be visible without a telescope."

"I don't see anything," Nolan said, "tell me what region of the planet i need to go to so i can deviate the space rock's course. Tell me what you managed to gather about its structure and composition. And wheither your analysts if it's worth attempting to put somewhere in orbit for later excavation."

"It'll be over europe within the next two hours, if you fly faster then mach 5 you'll have plenty of time to figure out whatever i feel your planning."

The air exploded around him, gravity heeded his will.

"We're getting spectral analysis now," Donald's voice sounded in his ear. "we estimate a primarily Nickel and iron core approximately 60% of its mass. Silicate mantle. Porosity estimated at 16-30%. Surface temperature rising, currently at-"

Silicate mentle- but with the porosity… -be careful.

"Skip temps. i need an idea of its structure to figure out how to get it out of the atmospher before it breaks of into chuncks or worse if i push at a fracture point," Nolan cut the GDA's second off.

Can't have the asteroid break appart.

Dense core-

A pause, the air wailed in his ears, Nolan was unsure if they heard his words.

If I- no too many variables. he discarded the half made plan, didn't give me all the data can't make a plan if i don't know how big- at least 100 kilometers across. Only asteroid… Dinkinesh? no- can't Vesta perhaps-

"Approximately 500 kilometers of diameter-" donald had started only for his words to be drownd out by the boom of Nolan's sudden acceleration, "-NASA, it will enter the atmosphere in 52 minutes and 43 seconds."

"Noted," he said to the human.

Like a spoon-

Just like it was taught in the academy-

The sensation of being punched in the side of his face for a wrong answer, "There will be no more indulgence for such weakness-" "Yes teacher." the class had chorused, Nolan with them as he stood back up, not daring to whipe the blood from his lip to the cascade birthed from a tear on his face, on his cheekbone-

Fly faster, he thought.

The multitude of plans birthed themselves in his mind's eye.

Nolan smiled.

"And Omni-man saves the world once more~" said Jennifer O'neiryl PFN's Omni-man analyst on call.

William was watching the TV with attention.

"Oh! Thank's Ms. Grayson," he said with a smile turning his attention from the new station that had been showing Omni-man deal with the the asteroid twitter had been going crazy about for the past hour, memes and gifs starting to flood social media and the #Pasteroïd tag.

His smile turned to a wide grin when he saw the special milk tea she made every time he came.

"I love this tea," he started, "Are you sure you don't want to give me the name of the blend your using, please pleasepleasepleasepleeaasseeee, Miss Grayson this is so goooodd~"

Mark laughed.

Miss Grayson laughed lightly, "You already know my answer Will."

William lost his upright position on the sofa at that, upper pody curling around the mug of homemade iced tea, grumbling under his breath.

He turned back to the TV.

"-clearly analysed the situation," Jennifer O'neiryl finished, the feed shifting back to the camera pointed at the presentator.

"-Elcome our GDA~" the white haired male presentator.

"Omni-man's really hot you gotta admit," he said to mark, "Especially with the beard he's been rocking ligh-"

"Please, William, shut up," Mark whined.

"Mark!" Miss Grayson exclaimed, glaring at her son.

She turned to William, "So you find Omni-man handsome?" she asked in an amused tone.

William's hand, the one that was not holding the mug shot out, "Of course!" he exclaimed, "He's handsome, and tall, and those muscles-"

"PleeEaaaAse. Stop," his best friend whined.

"-And that beard…" William froze.

His eyes widened.

"FUCK!"

"What?" "William?" Mark shouted and Miss Grayson excalimed in a worried tone.

"I TOLD MR. GRAYSON I OMNI-MAN HOT AND THAT HE WAS MY TOP PICK-"

"PLEASE DON'T FINISH THAT!" Mark cut him off. "LALALALAlalalala-"

"No wonder he'd looked so uncomfotable!" William cried out. "No wonder he's been unable to look me in the eyes since!"

"I didn't know I raised you to be so dramatic, Mark," Miss Grayson said to her son.

"OH MY GOD! YOU'RE INVINCIBLE??? AND YOU DIDN'T TELL MEE?????!?!"

"WILLIAM!"

"Boys…" Miss grayson said in a tone that made the hair on the back of his neck rise. "You woke Oliver."

William could hear baby screaming.

He gulped.

"No wonder he looked uncomfortable when I freaking told him to his face that I'd gladly sleep with Omni-man," William whined, burrying his head in his hands. "I thought he was lowkey a homophobe-" he groaned. "I feel so grose now. You guys are basicly family- ewewewew I NEED a shower."

Apparently my crushes on Mr. Grayson and omni-man… please God kill me. Kill me now. he thought with underlying dread. How is this my life?

He hid his face into his hands, feling his blush of embarassement. How was he supposed to look Mr. Grayson in the eyes now?

Allen stared up at the Viltrumite and gulped, his voicebox pressing uncomforably with the palm of his five fingered hand, his other hand no doubt ready to stab into him like in those recoding Thaedus made him watch a little over a year ago.

Okay. Okay. Think. you can talk your way out of this. You always talk yourself out of stupid shit- maybe not shit as bad as this though-

He felt the hand clamp harder around his throat.

'Ek! Um, I mean, ehem,' he mimed the coughing, 'Look, I'm not here to fight you. I'm not here to fight anyone!'

'Could have fooled me Unopan,'
came the Viltrumite's dark tone.

'So~this is NOoooot Urath…'

'No,' the tone felt darker somehow.

'Wow. This is intimidating,' Allen said, 'Like genuenly, I'm actually quaking here. You're very intimidating.' He was being honest, although it was more of a mental quaking than a physical one.

The Viltrumite's fingers dug into his skin, nail started pressing harder in his abdomen, 'Whoa whoa whoa, can't we talk about this?' he said in a kind of shrill manner.

'Start talking,' said the bearded Viltrumite.

'So… you said your planet,' he started no knowing which eye he should look at, wow were biclopes weird, he thought, they got offended at the smallest thing.

Wow that staring is powerfull, he thought, not at all panicking.

'So I know it's kindo of a reach but,' he gulped. 'I'm guessing you don't really follow your Grand Regent-'

The Viltrumite pressed closer, tilted his head.

'Please don't kiss me!' Allen yelped. 'Ouch!'

The viltrumite had head butted him faster than Allen could track.

'That hurts! Why did you headbut me! I didn't do anything! I was being reasona- ack!' Fingers moved, pressing on his arteries, barely a second in and Allen was already feeling lightheaded.

Whatever the Viltrumite was thinking, the look on his face? Yeah that look, wow was it intimidating. Was that anger? This felt like anger. Why were bi-clope expressions and cues so hard to understand, he whined internaly.

Whatever the blue eyed Viltrumite found in his eye, he'd seemed to come to a conclusion.

The hand that had been pressed against his abdomen, the one that was a clear telegraphed Viltrum style stab turned into a grip, scraping the skin under his suit before his five fingers clamped around the previously skintight fabric.

Oh no-

Allen felt the centrifugal force as the brown haired Viltrumite spun him around himself like he was the disc of that disc throwing game somehow common to nearly all planets. 'AAaaaa-'

Allen was thrown, he stoped his momentum as quickly as he could.

'HEY! WHAT WAS THAT?'

The Viltrumite stared at him for a few seconds, his everything not moving before turning to the planet he had claimed.

'Don't come back to this sector Unopan,' the Viltrumite said after the silence turned uncomfortable, his back turned at Allen, staring down at the overly covered with water planet that he had claimed.

'Um, uh- ok? Not that I'm not confused- Although I amm-'

'Go back to your Coalition,'
the Viltrumite had said, looking at him over his shoulder from the corner of his eye.

Maybe I should… go. Totaly my choice. Not at all because this guy is scarier than Thaedus when he's angry.

'Unopan,'
the bi-clopse said as Allen was starting to turn away, 'Don't come back to this quadrant of space. Further mistakes won't be tolerated.'

"And so, yeah… that's my report," Allen finished alkwardly.

"I see," Thaedus said in reply. "And he just let you go after that?"

"Yup." he poped out.

"No iss-"

"Nope," Allen verbalised.

"Interesting…" Thaedus said voice going low, "Perhaps we have a potential ally on our hands."

"That's what I said."

Anissa turned towards the Grand Regent, gaze meeting his.

She nodded.

"For Viltrum," she said, she vowed.

Mind already mapping an inter-galactic route to pick up Conquest and Lucan. Why the Regent told her to contact Conquest, she didn't know.

All she knew was that it was the throne's wish, the Empire's orders.

They had a worm in their ranks.

One Anissa would gradly bring to the Regent.

He was reclined on the sofa staring up at the white ceiling, breaths deep and slow, counting the minutes it took for his diafragm to complete each controled movement.

His mate turned on the TV before she sat next to him, hand caressing the meat of his thigh in a soothing motion before retreating.

"Do you think I'm a bad father?" The words escaped him.

He heard her blink, her lips part, the bones and muscles tense and relax as she turned to face him.

He felt his beard shift when he bit his lower lip, catching what words could have escaped before the formed.

"Not at all," she said, too quickly for his taste. But perhaps that was simply because Viltrumite perception was innately faster than human neuronal fireing. "Where did that come from?"

"I'm failing them-"

"you aren't, Nolan."

"I'm failing you," he admited in a whisper, neck straightening, shifting until his gaze easily met hers.

He felt the cold hard weight of-

It caught in his throat-

he was so weak-

he soould have left- he shouldhaveleftshouldleftshouldhave-

His mouth felt dry.

"Nolan," his attention returned to his star, warmth on his cheek, "I love you," her thumb traced the arch of his cheekbone, "you put so much on your shoulders," she leaned in, her other hand cupping his jaw.

He felt so lax in her grip.

weak.

he felt like puddy.

He blinked sluggishly, gaze nearly unfocused, Debbie his entire world.

"When i look at you," she whispered, drowing out the cooes and giggles of Oliver as he entertained himself, throwing wooden toys at furniture. "I see a man I love. I see you, Yeobo. Nae sarang. A man taking more and more responsibilities." her voice broke, "I see you hurting," tears. "You don't share your burdens. And i realise how i've been more than patient. How me not pushing helped… in the begining."

His jaw went slack.

Heat gathered in his eyes.

A stone dropped in his abdomen.

"A burden shared is a burden halved," she continued, tears in her voice, tears trailing down her beautiful visage. "You don't share, and it hurts, it hurts so much. But what feels like agony, Nolan, what hurst more, is having let you burry this pain you feel without saying a thing."

He'd felt himself freeze with every word she'd said.

His mouth moved wordlessly.

Viltrum had taught him to fight.

Viltrum had taught him to conquer.

Viltrum had taught him to destroy…

Earth taught him humanity.

Humanity he still failed to grasp.

"Kash…" he finally choked out, the single sillabled Tri'Vml endearement, the suffix he had scrounged the archive for as a child nearly two millenia ago escaping him.

"Yeobo speak to me," she said tearfully, months of accumulated stress finaly escaping the consinement she had suppressed her feelings with.

Seconds passed, minutes, perhaps hours…

"… I don't- how?" he admitted in a weak too small voice. One more reminicent of a child than the fully realized Viltrumite he was.

"With your own words," her thumb whimped something under his tearduct.

He was so weak.

He could barely feel his body but for the parts under her touch, that felt like brands, like a guide, a promice…

He couldn't do this.

He pulled away.

His gaze meeting hers.

He couldn't look away.

His heartbeat was all he could hear.

Pressure rone into his eardrums.

Hot and burning like lava.

The admission left without his prompting, the words having been practiced, thought over, agonised over for the past month on earth. For however long it had been since he arrived with this human's memories.

However long he had spent turning a civilisation to dust in the Flaxan dimension.

"I don't remember anything of my life on Earth, Debbie…"

His vision blurred at the admition finaly voiced in the presence of-

His nose burned.

He looked down. Away from her.

His face went slack. Then tensed in the way it always had when he stood in front of the Grand Regent. the way it had gone when he had still been a pupil in the L'muniksh Academic training center.

The way it had gone the days, the weeks, the decades following Jord's death. The centuries that had gone after the Scourge.

"Don't." His voice didn't feel like his.

Her hand lowered, not daring to touch him.

"I don't remember raising Mark," he admited, a block forming in his voicebox. "I love- I-"

His voice failed him, lips moving, face numb.

Silent.

Mute.

Seconds passed.

Her breaths turned to gasps. Tears like rivers on her face.

His body tingled, feeling unmovable, awkwards.

Gangly.

He brought her in an embrace, silent and supporting.

'I love you,' was all he could think. All he could muster.

Sometime later, he didn't know how long, he felt her weight leave his chest. Her body no longer laying on his.

He heard her shush his wordless questions, heard her promice to be back in a few moments.

Heard the thund of her bare feet on the floor, on the ground as she assended.

Heard the shift of cloths.

The happy gurgle of his son.

Heard her walk down the stairs.

His gaze unfocused.

White filing his vision, tunneling. Making him blind to the colours and textures in its periphery.

Felt the warmth of a small, infant body gently dropping on his chest, felt a kiss land on his crown.

Felt her nudges to raise his head so she could sit where it had been. So he could use her lap as a pillow and feel her fingers dance through his hair.

"I love you," he heard her distant perfect voice, "I'm glad you finally admitted this," her nails dug into his beard, scratching that part that constantly itched. "We'll build new memories, just like we have been~"

Her words, music to his ears lulled him to a deep rest.

She is so strong.

She was the perfect mate.

He couldn't lose her. He would die, waste away if she ever disapeared.

What a lie he told the world. He'd live- just to turn into a calamity…
