Video Games General

After beating almost my entire previous list, picked up three more from the steam sale.

Blaster Master Zero 2 adds some interesting new features, and is a decent sequel so far.

I do have ideas about Jason 'helping' Eve with her big mutant cock, in spite of her protests and how she can keep it from infecting him but not from changing him.

Thumper, a simple but difficult rhythm game with a really psychedelic art style.

And Unsighted, which received really good reviews. Gameplay is really great so far, but I'm afraid the backstory seems like more of a political statement than actual storytelling- and I'll leave it at that. Also debating whether or not I should turn off the time limit because I really really don't need the stress.

That was a fucken trip. I'm not uninterested I'll say that.
Gameplay still looks pretty low grade, though the setting is interesting. If the former is improved between now and release, then this may be a pickup. And if it is a disaster, then there is always watching playthroughs on youtube.

Soul Nomad got a Steam port! I am hyped! Seems like they didn't really change anything either.

Outside of the stuff you'd need to change make a old console game work on a modern PC (or game console) and look decent on modern displays and resolutions, yeah, it's just the PS2 version... for better or worse.

I'm pretty sure that NIS Classics Volume 1 (for the Switch) is just running a minimal compatibility layer on top of the PC version of Soul Nomad and Phantom Brave PC, with minor tweaks to let the two games terminate themselves and load up the other (although that also could just be the devs changing the text on the "Exit to Windows" option, and setting up the compatibility layer to launch the other game if one quit out). It would explain the timing on the PC release of Soul Nomad...

Incidentally, I beat Kings at Mercenary difficulty this weekend. With the PW-1, of course.

I can't fucking believe there are madmen that manage to do it without that plane. I pretty much managed the win somehow with hit and run strikes with the railgun.

Beat Seed of the Dead 2.

It was, in all ways, superior to its predecessor. The sex scenes are more free and frequent, you've got customization options for the heroines, the combat is more polished and varied.

My only major complaint is the loss scenes going full Ryona instead of plain old monster rape. And the glitches, like the time the ZBBA grabbed me through a wall and the girls' AI was too dumb to run around it and shoot her- and I couldn't because the wall was still in the way.

Also if you remove the mosaics it's clear they didn't expect you to do that because things frequently don't line up at all.

Even the story was pretty damn good... even if three of the four girls being in Reverse Bunnysuits had a negative effect on the drama of the final scene. I thought Kirara looked better in the bikini armor.

Also fuck the process of getting the Reverse Bunny. Three randomly placed switches in the absolute worst of the three RNG-based paths. The garage (Combat Armor) was annoying but not too hard. The cave (Bikini Armor) is sitting almost right in the open. But the lab? Noooo, you have to hunt for three tiny switches randomly placed through the narrow hallways with Zs and mutants randomly and not-so-randomly spawning. To say nothing of trying to fight the damn Tintan in a confined space. Did that shit four times, and I would've absolutely restarted the level if I got lab when trying to do my final run, despite starting from the beginning instead of the checkpoint (so the RNG would have to give me more weapon options.)

Also: Since the game doesn't tell you anything, once you get to level 28 and the two alternate base guns (Base pistol has unlimited ammo but its damage is shit) open up, the Cyber Pistol gets 20 shots per clip and is around twice as strong as the base, l suspect. The Revolver gets six shots per clip, but it reloads faster, and is at least three times as strong- if not better.

Source: Base pistol takes three shots to kill a basic Z. Cyber Pistol takes two, and Revolver kills in one shot. They all have about the same rate of fire, but Cyber Pistol reloads the slowest and Revolver reloads the fastest.

It's a good idea to take one of the two because of the weapon RNG's occasional tendency to give you nothing but sniper rifles and that ridiculous SMG that basically farts at the enemies and then makes you reload after doing subpar damage. Ammo In Socks is also a skill I'd recc so your good guns will definitely have enough bullets to make it to the next ammo crate.

Final Note: Aya is Best Girl, Fite Me.

Poked Dark Cloud back in because it's a game I really love.

I've lost my notes, but I had lewd ideas for this game at one point- basically Toan gets a warning from the Fairy King about Xiao going into heat shortly after she's changed into a catgirl. He tells his girlfriend (while panicking) and she comes to accept that he's a hero and he's probably going to attract women like flies, and she's okay with that as long as he comes back to her at the end. But she jumps him so they can have their first time together. And it's good she's fine with it because she winds up having to make sure he stays hydrated while the horny catgirl is doing her best to drain him dry. Fortunately, the Fairy King also gave him something to keep them from having to worry about kittens... and so he wouldn't actually, you know, die.

Went on to a lewd encounter with that one girl from the second village, then, of course, Ruby. Toan's still a bit awkward about that sort of thing, and made the mistake of telling her he'd need his girlfriend's permission. Ruby takes it as a challenge and wanders off to teach her things about herself, then brings her back for a threesome before they go on their way. I might've had some plan for the ice queen, but I don't remember. Then, of course, one of the two older sisters take him for a ride, only to have Ruby come down from the ceiling beam and explain their arrangement and that no, she hasn't caught him.

Probably finishing up with everyone talking around the campfire about what they're going to do after it's all done and Xiao answering "Get Master to finally give me some kittens!"

I wish I could find my notes...

But I did have another idea.

Basically, a very horny Toan/Other/Questers/Whatever able to modify what they're restoring. Lewdly. Fairies are kinky fuckers, so the King sees nothing wrong with this.

Fuck cannons.

Made the mistake of trying to go to the back floor of the Ruby-only level because I found the fish right next to the spot.

Immediately surrounded by two cannons and a mask. Those cannons are bullshit. I almost took one down and probably could've handed the other and the mask after, but one crossfired through the other two and just barely around the pillar I was using for cover.

Not a joke: Microsoft to buy Activision Blizzard for $70 billion.

As for what this means for infamous CEO/abusemonger Bobby Kotick, there have been reports of him staying on but at the same time word that studios under the ABK umbrella will be reporting to Phil Spencer as the CEO. Either way, the deal now makes Microsoft the third largest game company by financial assets, behind Tencent and Sony.

What does that mean besides securing lots of IPs?

Right now, not much unless you own Activision stock which is seeing a price jump on the acquisition story breaking. The final merge will be several months out, but Phil did confirm that Activision Blizzard titles will be featured on Gamepass much like Bethesda. No word yet if this means major releases like CoD, Diablo 4 and currently on hold Overwatch 2 will be PC/Xbox exclusive from here on out.

My biggest hope, besides Microsoft properly cleaning house and/or shoving Kotick in a shoebox before putting a heavy book on the lid, is they break the whole "billion dollar franchise or GTFO" mindset that Kotick enforced on the dev studios.

Huh, wonder if MS was still upset over a comment someone at Activision made during the 360 days, that MS should be paying Activision for all the Xbox Live subscriptions sold because of CoD.

They must've smelled blood in the water when Activision Blizzard's own dirty secrets were bringing it down it got sold while it's still salavageable.

Something ironic that I saw pointed out was that Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, PlayStation launch titles that helped flagship the platform, are now going to be owned by Microsoft and exclusively playable with the Xbox game pass.

Good job Sony.
