Video Games General

Apparently The First Berserker: Khazan did well enough that they're releasing free Genderbent MC DLC as a thank-you gift, so that's neat.

  • However, in-game cinematics will not be played and some conversations or monologues may be muted.
So decent for a second playthrough or if you don't actually care about the story then.

Better than having it stay dead, I suppose.

Played a few Next Fest demos. The one's I liked best were House of Necrosis and Mina the Hollower.

House of Necrosis is a very Resident Evil inspired mystery dungeon game. Really well done and it's got that PS1 survival horror vibe down.

Mina the Hollower. Bit of an odd mishmash of a 2d Zelda like game with a Soulslike death and healing thing. No idea what a Hollower is other than a vaguely trying not to infringe on someone else's copyrighted name term for an adventurer. I feel like Burrower would've made more sense since that's one of Mina's main abilities. I liked the look of it and it was pretty fun.

There's a new Terminator 2 retro game coming out in September. Terminator 2D: No Fate. Looks pretty cool. Has everything from future stages to stealth action in the Asylum, plus all the movie scenes. Including the naked Ahnold bar fight.

Anybody playing dofus ? I've been thinking to get back into the game and playing f2P but I don't know if it's worth getting into if I'm not planning to subscribe

Hey! I just started playing The Slormancer, and I have to say it's been a blast so far. I'm running the Huntress, and I'll probably update my thoughts once I reach the end-game. I've just unlocked the Blacksmith, which finally lets me set up loot filters and the game is really shaping up! Anyone else playing it?

On a side note, I'm 82 hours into Expedition 33 and still haven't beaten Simon…

Set in the year 2089, Full Metal Schoolgirl throws players into a dystopian Japan where the nation's economy is dominated by Meternal Jobz, a corrupt corporate superpower whose zombified cyborg labor force, the "Working Dead," are capable of working nonstop. As a fully armed cyborg schoolgirl heroine, players must ascend Meternal Jobz's ever-shifting 100-story skyscraper, dismantling waves of undead salarymen, the dastardly CEO, and twisted security systems on a mission of personal revenge before their evil plans come to fruition.

Meet the Machine Girls, characters, and see them in action in this Full Metal Schoolgirl announcement trailer for the upcoming action shooter from the developers behind Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. Full Metal Schoolgirl will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on October 23, 2025.

I am trying to remember a video game magazine that had a comic about a Christmas elf giving gifts. I don't know what the title of the magazine was.

Would anyone be able to help me with finding it? It may have been made in the 2000s or 2010s. I apologize if this doesn't narrow things down as much.

Wu Tang is back.

Wu Tang is back.
Oh yeah, I saw that during one of the summer presentations. It was fucking surreal. Lot of us were wondering if we'd traveled back in time to the 360 days. :V

heh, should've could've would've, minor regret now with Halo 2 appearing on sale, though I was never a Halo player.
Well, as a wiser than me game once said:
If you see something you really like or need, buy it then and there at the best price you can get.

I cannot tell you how many times I passed up a rare and interesting relic, assuming that I could find it elsewhere in the region, perhaps at a larger town at a better price. Too late, I discovered I was wrong, and when I returned to the shop weeks later, the item I wanted was gone.

Better to get a great purchase at a decent price and discover it again at a worse price than to miss out on your opportunities for ownership.

Occasionally impulsiveness is the best buying strategy.

I've tried to get into this game about four times now. I adore Star Sector, so I figured this would be right up my ally, but I cant seem to get into it. Any tips or like, absolute recommendations to get started?
My suggestion? Ignore all of the things you could be doing in X4 and instead focus on a getting familiar with the universe you find yourself in. X4 is a very large game with a lot of depth and it's very easy to bounce off of it trying to take all of that in. Instead, fly around, do small time missions for random NPCs. Things like cargo or item recovery, sector patrols and escort jobs. At some point you might feel that you need a better weapon or a different engines. Maybe you feel that having another fighter at your side might make those jobs easier. Slowly ramping up to owning trade ships to generate passive income and eventually escort forces for them.

Also, while I would not say it's necessary, some of the DLCs come with their own narrative starts that help you get started by pointing you in a direction to go do things as an incentive to learn various parts of the game. Might not help but it's something.
