Video Games General

Not sure if there's a better thread to ask this, but here goes. Should I buy Jedi Academy from GOG or Steam? I've heard that it's better to buy Fallout 3 because the Steam version has issues with modern graphics or whatever, so I just want to be sure that isn't the case before I buy it.

One of GOG's original selling points is that they explicitly do their best to make certain older games run on newer rigs. Steam's never really made a point of that, in my experience. Steam's KotOR2 release ran well enough, til I got to the Ebon Hawk and every conversation happened at Ludicrous Speed, for instance. Didn't have that issue with GOG's release.

You should definitely go with GOG for the older games.

I haven't had any issues with steam.

And the last Smash character is...

It has finally happened. The Memes have become reality

Since this is the last one I'll just say that out of all the fighters I'm only disappointed we got Ken instead of Chun-Li. Seriously a Ryu clone?

So I just learned Plumbers don't wear ties is getting a re release. What kind of fucked up timeline have I landed in?

I know the odds were basically nil, but I'm still disappointed that Geno wasn't added to Smash. Still Sora is a welcome sight, given he's had at least two games that originated on Nintendo Handhelds... It could be argued that this is a long time coming.

Maybe Geno will be in the next installment.

Some new indie game got released. It's like paying extra for a forum quest with how much it's described to have lots of text.

So about the post credits scene of Far Cry 6.

Juan is talking to a smuggler that sounds a lot like Vaas indicating he may have survived the events of FC3. Which I think is quite plausible considering that during their 'fight' not only was Jason high as a kite on drugs, we never actually see Vaas' body, so it's possible that Jason never saw Vaas again after their second encounter and Vaas simple got the hell off the Rook Islands after Hoyt was killed.

Holy shit, Metroid Dead is fucking AWESOME.

Fuck, I remember a comment on Youtube about how Nintendo's marketing made it look more like an horror game and goddamn that was on point. I fucking hate (in a good way) those fucking robots. Dammit Nintendo, I finally kicked my newly acquired phobia of SUDDENLY PIANO, I don't need more PTSD.

Well, once my Switch is charge up... I know I'm going to need new pants.

So, I'm dealing with the second E.M.M.I., trying to puzzle out how to get through its territory without being munched...

When my smoke detector beeps and takes ten years off my life. Not an alarm beep, nor is it the battery, just beeps like, every few days, and it picked that exact moment.

Well, at least that bastard is gone now. Also got done with the next boss and got the Spoiler. That's gonna be useful. Bit disappointed by how the QTE was almost required to hurt it enough- or I was before I realized there was a way to get away from the ground poison, after the fight was over.

I will be really disappointed if we don't get that beam permanent by the end of the game, though.

Also: Where is my damn Morph Ball? The tendency seems to be heading for handing you that mid or late-game, which is really frustrating when you're used to having it from the start.

Encountered E.M.M.I. Number 4, Third if you discount the very first one, got the relevant upgrade and I'm heading back to deal with E.M.M.I. Number 3/2 to hopefully deal with it and get it's upgrade.
