  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

What are your most hated fanfic tropes

some people to say that a particle exists in multiple places at once or some nonsense, but the response to that from Einstein and Schrodinger was no, God does not play dice, it has to be one place or the other, we just can't know which one it is.
Wrong.

Einstein said: "the Old One doesn't play dice" not God. He was implying here that the universe is deterministic and not probabilistic. Proven wrong by the phone in your hand, which works via quantum tunneling.

Schrodinger postulated via his cat experiment that superposition exists, and will collapse upon observation. Which was also proven true.

But that doesn't make sense, isn't the cat its own observer?

I had to look this up today, thanks to being called out on my science ignorance.

The way I interpret superposition is that if you had two chambers and two cats and two geiger counters, both cats would be dead long before you open either chamber up. That is to say, the particle is alternating rapidly between locations, teleporting back and forth (that's what quantum tunneling seems to mean: the particle can get past a barrier that would have prevented movement, because the particle doesn't move, it teleports). So it would trip both geiger counters and kill both cats, but when you make an observation (as in you collide another particle against it) it stops teleporting and stays in one spot after that.

And that's kind of creepy that Einstein was into Cthulhu mythos.
