What would you do if you were thrown into the last world you read about?

Steven Universe, question, if 'access' to a major power system requires me to be a different species, do I become that species or are those powers just arbitrarily grafted onto my meat?

Star Wars, Empire Era

As a Force Sensitive? But with zero training? I'm definitely screwed.

RWBY, in "Save the world? Fuck that, I want to make money" by @Pastah-Farian.

Okay, so...

1) Local Power: Aura. Easy enough to understand, but good to have, otherwise looking soulless to others would potentially be a really bad thing. Figure a ton of training needed to make a proper use of it. It would be amazing if this could also grant Magic, but that seems to be a very limited Local Power following the age of the Brother Gods walking the Remnant's surface prior to Salem's temper-tantrum worthy of a 5 year old.

2) Timeline appears to be prior to the events of the actual canonical RWBY, with Winter not yet a Specialist but in training, preparing to graduate, so got some time to see how things will go. The Weyland family presence would also make for interesting shift, so following whether or not the protagonist of the tale has returned to start changing the company for the new shift would be interesting.

3) Minor Ability from Out of Setting: Inexhaustible Mining (Graveyard Keeper) - Being able to mine stuff without actually removing the material from the source would make for some interesting changes. Locate a big "source block" of iron? Chip away at it and get more than the source-block should realistically even be able to contain, without reducing it at all. Meaning slow but unending source of materials, from an ore-vein that isn't depleted by the mining. This could help with mining dust without running out too, but that seems secondary priority with the Weylands. Signing up to join them with a "mining semblance" as excuse, helping excavate materials that might otherwise be difficult to find in sufficient amounts, even just locating 1 rich enough node despite a potentially small size could mean having some of the more difficult to acquire materials flowing to the Weylands at a steady rate.

Given the situation, I'd likely end up in Atlas and with Aura unlocked, it would be best to get some training with that, but with the changes coming, might seek to get hired by the Weylands even at a lower wage if necessary as inexperienced newcomer because the family looks to be going places and being in the Atlas Academy seems a good way to be nudged towards joining Atlas Military sooner or later. Getting trained by the mercenary forces, learning how to fight, getting hands on some reliable guns that don't need fancy transformation sequences that could be jammed or break, while helping gather materials to keep mining at it.

Probably in trouble if/when Salem decides to throw another hissy-fit and start acting instead of sulking, but in the meanwhile providing a service that ought to have a bit of value to the company and thus paid fairly for it, while having protection and learning to protect myself, improving on things and learning, and working for a simple enough goal: Making some money by utilizing the skills given and learning how to fight to keep that money too, and working for a Gun-Manufacturer? You better believe I'd be looking to gear up and if there is employee discounts, then getting some good guns and plenty of ammo would be there on the list.

I had a ton of other ideas for the Minor Ability section that would help but I found most of those might be a tad too powerful, so went with one of the least-powerful minor abilities to satisfy the 'minor' part there. Because having a full Minecraftian digging and crafting system & health system on top with immortality totems would no longer count as 'minor', even if something like Fortnite or 7 Days to Die style building, scavenging, and Fortifying a position in the end-days style power could be amusing in setting up Weyland facilities swiftly to become easily defensible outposts for one purpose or another.

Idle thoughts having fun.

Considering I've been doing nothing but reading marvel and DC fanfics for the past couple of days when I'm not doing DND stuff, uh.

Probably find that one crazy cat guy in Gotham and ask to be made a test subject.

If I'm lucky, become catgirl, proceed directly to shenanigans.

If I'm really lucky I convince him to splice me with fox DNA instead after helping him steal shit.

Getting my teeth busted in by batman is a small price to pay for having a fluffy tail.

Although I'd probably end up a twisted half human monster instead of adorable and fluffy, because Gotham.

Except I'd be fine with that too and probably try to make a low budget horror movie :V
You get it. The desire FOR FLOOF

Was re-reading Archangel's Amazing Adventures when I saw this.

1. Everyone has magic, swords, and guns in it along with Gundams.

2. The main characters don't even know really where or when they are so that won't matter much.

3. Minor power from another series? Fanon Uzumaki Luck. I'll take getting into bad situations as long as I can get some stupidly good luck at gambling.

Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo, was the last manga I just read(because reasons). I probably would try to pull the same as the protagonist.
Steven Universe, question, if 'access' to a major power system requires me to be a different species, do I become that species or are those powers just arbitrarily grafted onto my meat?
And the funny thing, my last fanfic was this series just now, if it weren't it would have been Worm and I dead. Interesting. If I were to choose, I would go like hybrid, (mommy gem) best of both worlds in terms of potential for power. Although if I were a gem I would plan my escape to Earth till Steven Jesus pulls Homeworld into Era 3... just like that same fanfic lol.

I am rereading Bill the Galactic Hero now, meh!

Does this cover doujins as well?

Because I wouldn't mind getting to bang the hot housewife hooker from Hitozuma Club.

Worm. Enough said.

1. Guess I'll be a parahuman. Hope I don't have to trigger too.

2. Start of canon would be preferable. Earlier and I'd feel obliged to help Taylor. At the same time, changing things could be really bad for everyone involved.

3. Always liked being smart, so tony stark. When your power is being a general 'tinker' you don't really loose out in other categories.
Also since I won't have Stark's resources, it should be classified as a minor power. Not for long though...

I was reading a crossover fic recently... do I just get yeeted into one, the other, or the crossover?

Well, actually... I don't precisely remember which I read recently.
Either a FullMetal Alchemist + SpyxFamily crossover...
or a Megamind + Worm crossover.

I'm only chilling okay in one setting.

Chilling less okay if it's either crossover.

The last world was Danmachi. I think it could be worse, but still uncomfortable. What about three things?

1 - I am not sure, if it means I gain access to Falna. And if I do, would it make me part of any familia? Or just familia of myself? Or would I get something else, like access to magic? Can turn into political nightmare.
2 - Pretty useful, I guess. Not a big fun of this setting, but it would definitely help to exploit some things and evade danger for some time, before timeline is completely screwed. But even after this, I still would be able to know what time it is at any moment - convenient.
3 - Not sure what to take for this one. Something to survive for longer or side step limitations of the setting. Could take some Minor Stranger effect, because if people cannot know/perceive where enemy comes from, they cannot defend or attack reliably. There are so many things to consider, I am not sure what to take.

I could probably become an adventurer, but I am a bit afraid of this. Not just of dungeon, but of politics and big city, which definitely has some problems with law. Although, I could help some people, which I know are in a tough spot. I could try to just go away and live somewhere else, maybe even take Minor Boon specifically for this route. I think, my plan of action would rely heavily on what I get from First and Third Boons.

Skyrim-Brosef's Tamrielic Dreaming

1: So I get Mana and nothing else? Feck.

2:I'm about 17 years from canon, so I'll likely just find a Khajiit caravan/settlers, try and befriend them, maybe seduce one or two if I'm lucky.

3: minor, eh? Hmm.....would a bootleg Essence Of The Warlord count as minor?
I mean I'm still getting ripped apart by Alduin with some struggle on his end, but then again I'm also likely to unwittingly end up as a third faction in the civil war leading the downtrodden part of the population, and probably winning it....hmmm.
