I think the legal name thing is just a refusal to play along with super-villains attempts to sound cool.
It's a way to try to deflate their swollen heads.

He still uses superhero names in the field, he just doesn't bother for villains, because everybody already knows who they are.

The evil entity created had true super strength. He might have been able to pump up if he had super resistant weights, but I doubt that he would have felt the inclination. Nope.

A plot point for the original Dial, that must also apply to the copies since they are less powerful, is that there is a limit on how powerful a Hero transformation can be. Hence why the SPLIT (or was it SPLT?) command was used.

Also all transformations are meant to be temporary, so it was never shown the Heroes getting stronger over time and is not know if they even can.

Of course there might be a loophole like a Hero with a power that does get stronger over time, but that was never explored at all in the comics.
 
One minor issue I have is the Color of the Yellow on the background... makes it hard to read.

If the individual exercised, then the power wouldn't be coming from the dial.

In any case, it isn't going to be a major plot point.

Well I'm glad you are still doing story Mr Zoat and hope QQ treats you well.

I'm really curious if the Hero Dial will be given to someone else to use and become hero, or act as means to empower several normal people to make a hero team.

Mr Zoat If you have to move again I offer to host (Setup, lackadaisical technical support till I hire a grad student to do it and will cover server fees) a board for your fic, provided you tap Mods, or start up a reddit board, again you tap the mods.

For Clarity I'm EmpiricistOrNot (nerv logo on the previous board or something similar on Reddit)

Huh. Interesting that I'm coming here at the same time as the revised editorial policy for Young Justice Series 3 allows them to show graphic violence.

Call the mods flaming cuntwaffles if you like, it's allowed... won't make you any friends, but is still allowed. Long as you're not posting actual child porn, doxing, or violating copyrights, you can get away with just about anything.

You'd think it'd be a nightmare shithole, but it also somehow manages to be the nicest place I've ever been to on the internet. Well, except this one troll who tried to pretend he was some sort of white supremacist, but was always trying too hard to sell the illusion. Eventually he managed to find a way to get himself banned. Something to do with sockpuppets and spam, I believe.

Can't recommend it enough.

I've already offered to run our own site with blackjack and hookers.

Though no phpBB. No. Never. That codebase is a dumpster fire with security vulnerabilities you can drive a truck through. They try to patch them as they're revealed, but it's just a game of whack-a-mole.

In general, they're not. I'm not going to touch on anything related to the politics of said community, but the trans community isn't some big undifferentiated mass any more than the fanfiction community is. There are places that are more agreeable; there are places that are more hostile. We bumped into some of the latter, but my experience has been overall more positive than negative.

Considering the scale of of recent events it feels a little incongruous that that something as small as unwanted genderbending is difficult to resolve. Ah well, I suppose the feeling will pass.
 
There was a tool on SB that allowed to transfer threads from SB. Maybe it can be used for story only thread? Moderator's help may be needed.

Getting help from a SV moderator is... probably not going to happen.

I could write the tool, though. I'd want to get permission from QQ's staff before running the tool to load those posts in here, since it would run a really good chance of looking like an aggressive spambot, but it's not particularly difficult.

Also, Mr Zoat, you're going to need to create the Queen of Fables account.

Best bet is to just start up a Wordpress account and post from there, I can say from experience that running a forum does require actual effort to be put into things, unless you're admin on a large existing forum like SB and can just sit back and relax.
