Thought the last story post was on the tenth.Nekro is generally considered to be one at around a week, though 2 weeks is also common.
Also, if no one has told you this: Welcome to QQ.
Only on your profile page, the first forum I ever joined was one where my first posts necroed two stories.Eh, KinKrow, with my stuff it can go unupdated for months if something happens; so I don't mind if you pop in at any point. Seriously. People showing up with feedback may even be why the next update occurs.
Needs for felching.Good job; class act. If you take it on the road then you should definitely name it 'The Aristocrats'.
Um no? Yeah one of the primary themes of the story is how much you hate yourself. You also have an interstellar super weapon driven off that self destructive self hate and the for other things and one of the first things you did was drop in break into an asylum, go into a spiral, and play destructo surgery with an inmate. So, to summarize, you thought it was a good idea to come into a story wherein one of the major themes raised in it thus far is precisely how much I hate myself and then offer vapid, useless criticism on the most unimportant story points you could pick out.

Sure it's the joker, but not the greatest testament to stability.
While this is fucking hysterical, and while I very much want to sig it, I think you should calm yourself before the mods forcibly calm you.
Says alot that the entity from which the first instance of Love in the universe was expressed... is ultimately known as 'The Predator'
Mind if I sig this?
Go right ahead.
... Calm yo tits. Or better yet don't and make my argument. Red rings rings going the enemy faction of beserkers and are kept by force of arms. Violet rings same. That is the fucking point, you halfwit. Are the red rings testaments to stability? How about violet? No? Same with this ring.
THE RING IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE SANE YOU MORON.
Didn't you know this has no place on the internet desu~?
Me too, me too
I'd like to also point out that Green Rings do NOT select for Sanity either...
They very much select for the most utterly bull headed bastards in the galaxy. Great 'Will' essentially means you're going to push your way though anything no matter what so long as you believe it 'right'.
It's a SPECIAL kind of insanity.
Well, yeah, this is what I believe is right and I will see it through, regardless of obstacles or oposition.
Yeah, Larekko12 is fun like that.Right. Okay. Let me see if I'm getting this...
Your problem, Larekko12, is that in this story with a space-alien who is superpowered by yellow-coloured sunlight, a magical amazonian princess made of clay, a half-human half-fishman who rules the lost city of Atlantis, confirmed sapient life on Mars, and dozens of examples of pseudo-tech that shouldn't exist...
... my SI getting his ring back is unrealistic. After he cooperated fully with the Justice League, passed all their tests, and was entirely reasonable about the whole thing?
The thing is, you're criticizing the basic story premise here; the very concept that this entire thing is predicated on. Not only that, you're doing so without any actual input into the situation. Literally all you're doing is saying 'this doesn't make sense to me'. Please notice how nobody else as has done that.
You see, this is primarily a work of fiction. Written by a fan. You might call it fanfiction, perhaps. If I were to make your nebulous 'reality' ensue then the majority of the cast would disappear, Batman would be bleeding to death in an alleyway somewhere and I would be dying from cold and explosive decompression in space.
I am perfectly fine and capable of taking useful critique. That's not what you're providing. The term for what you're doing is, generally speaking, 'bitching'. One of the reasons vyor was so angry as a result is quite plain if you have any level of introspection at all. I mean, seriously. I am here, writing a story about my own self-loathing, and you think it's actually a good idea to constantly shit on me for it.
That is literally all you're doing here. There's no premise for debate or discussion, there's no alternatives presented, there is nothing constructive about what you were saying because if there was I would already be rewriting my chapters. All you have is a pile of misanthropy and dissatisfaction that is entirely unhelpful to the story and my mental state.
In short, and in case your obviously juvenile brain cannot parse what I am saying; if you have nothing of worth to add then, please, stay away from my threads. Your kind are not welcome here.
3) I welcome criticism of my works, but if you tell me that something is wrong, I also expect an explanation of what is wrong, and a suggestion of how to fix it. Note that I do not promise to follow any given suggestion.
Yes. The build up to this question dealing with nature of the world and the super powers within it doesn't really on reasonable and realistic when you take their existence as a given. Yes. He was reasonable an passed these tests, but the test themselves wouldn't be reasonable proof for your ability handle a super weapon with out a large amount of training from a support group that doesn't exist for your ring.Right. Okay. Let me see if I'm getting this...

I'm not really critiquing the base premise. The base premise is you get a ring, you get get teleported to a DC variant, everyone's brains are working but natural to character, and then you do things. The thing is, you're criticizing the basic story premise here; the very concept that this entire thing is predicated on. There have been rather few posts to be constantly shitting on you within this thread. And while I will admit my first post didn't have the alternative proposal (drop in stopping a crisis like the invasion you mentioned instead destructo surgereoning the Joker) , and was rather incomplete , the logic you espoused about the faults of the superheroes that are mostly beholden to the nature of genre means that in that specific situation barring the threat of you keeling over they really shouldn't have let you keep the ring, without say visiting and getting cleared by the Guardians.I am perfectly fine and capable of taking useful critique. Yes. A special stable kind of insanity that doesn't rapid spiral out of control and has near millenia of study behind it, a support system, limits, and a proper training program.I'd like to also point out that Green Rings do NOT select for Sanity either...

It's a SPECIAL kind of insanity.
Kyle Rayner, Thaal Sinestro, Hal Jordan, the Guardians themselves planned this shit because they're so willful, shall I elaborate or do you get why this isn't the best-supported comment you could make?Yes. A special stable kind of insanity that doesn't rapid spiral out of control and has near millenia of study behind it, a support system, limits, and a proper training program.
Right; firstly, you have no knowledge of what lengths they've gone to behind the scenes and I deliberately didn't go into detail on the psychiatric evaluation because I wouldn't know how to portray that accurately. Needless to say, however, they're satisfied with this outcome. The main things you seem to be missing are that even when in the throes of a severely bad reaction to the situation I was still able to recognize that and remove it. Outside of that incident, which was caused by a bad phlebtonium interaction, I was actually able to ramp myself down from a state of heightened Contempt and have shown that I recognize the potential negative effects.Yes. The build up to this question dealing with nature of the world and the super powers within it doesn't really on reasonable and realistic when you take their existence as a given. Yes. He was reasonable an passed these tests, but the test themselves wouldn't be reasonable proof for your ability handle a super weapon with out a large amount of training from a support group that doesn't exist for your ring.
The only other rings of that designation are only kept through force of arms and in story the reigning specialists who invented the tech don't want you to have it.
It is thus unreasonable for you to keep it meeting the League in this was instead of say after having a bit to work with your ring and dropping in the middle of a crisis and performing well and with restraint.
That was an alternative I noted. If I forgot I would like to apologize.
I'm not really critiquing the base premise. The base premise is you get a ring, you get get teleported to a DC variant, everyone's brains are working but natural to character, and then you do things.
I'm critiquing that the things you did should lose you the ring, or force conflict because basic premise of your light and the spookiness shown should have them trying to decommission the ring. They shelf things like Nabu afterall. Your bonafides are not yet proven while instability has been shown.
If that's not criticizing the base premise then I don't know what is. As for my instability; it's only really been in a single situation. In case you haven't noticed, I'm harder on myself than is necessarily accurate.Eh. This is well written but some of the facts and positions are kind of.... Silly? They strike me as a combo of stupid and arrogant and ways to justify some random dude on the street being allowed to have an Interstellar weapon of mass destruction with strong mind altering effects.
I characterize your posts as such because they're unhelpful; a suggestion that boils down to "You should have written this differently" that misses the point of why I've written what I did. Thing is; if I followed your suggestion my situation would be much worse because I absolutely wouldn't hold back lethal force against a hostile alien invasion. In spite of how I, in-character, choose to phrase it I did nothing but good with my first action. The Joker is 'dead', more or less, but Jack Napier (or whatever his name may be) has his life back. He's entirely sane, and doesn't look like the Joker. A serial mass murderer is no more and an innocent man has his life back. There have been rather few posts to be constantly shitting on you within this thread. And while I will admit my first post didn't have the alternative proposal (drop in stopping a crisis like the invasion you mentioned instead destructo surgereoning the Joker) , and was rather incomplete , the logic you espoused about the faults of the superheroes that are mostly beholden to the nature of genre means that in that specific situation barring the threat of you keeling over they really shouldn't have let you keep the ring, without say visiting and getting cleared by the Guardians.
I also honestly find it a massive stretch to characterize my posts as misanthropic and filled with dissatisfaction. Is it the comment about the Guardians and their likely legal positioning?
Someone else has done a good job of rebutting this for me.Yes. A special stable kind of insanity that doesn't rapid spiral out of control and has near millenia of study behind it, a support system, limits, and a proper training program.
Hell, Blackest Night happened because of their unacknowledged fuckups, and the Red Lantern Corps was created because of another. Arguably Agent Orange is a third and the Indigo Tribe exist because of one man's severe dislike of their arrogant stubbornness. As for the Guardians? No, they have no rights over Earth whatsoever. Saying they have jurisdiction because they were there first is the height of arrogance; maybe if they'd colonized those worlds before intelligent life evolved you'd have a point. The Green Lanterns are literally a xenotechnology armed paramilitary force. They preach noninterference now, but the Guardians have fucked up a lot in the past. Like, holy shit.
Zamorans split with the Guardians over policy disagreements.Actually, now I think of it, the Star Sapphires are the only Corps you can honestly say weren't formed because of something the Guardians screwed up.
Yeah, I guess I gave them too much credit.
