The Happiness ring sounds kind of... frightening. Thinking about it, it means you would have to be happy any time you fought, any time you tried to do something with the ring. You'd have to be happy all the time. Even if you had to do something you hated, you would have to force yourself to feel happy about it.

How is Mercy an emotion? I thought it was an action, or social construct, not something you felt.

Can't even imagine how a Lantern powered by Mercy would work.
Surprisingly well, in a terrible sort of way. As a noun it means, 'compassion or forgiveness shown towards someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm'. Within that reality it was more or less analagous to Hope rings.

It was hard to use to fight people, so it frequently wasn't. Though there were a few giggling psychopaths who found glee in the suffering of others, yes.

I could see people who found joy in the rush of combat being Happy Corpsmen. Following the leader of their Corp, Captain Kenpachi.

Napier would have been a prime candidate, then. Well, not any more, at least.

Incorporating Tamaranean physiology into the Genomorphs could be troublesome.

Would make them more likely to rebel. Anger gets lasers, righteousness gets strength, happiness for flight.

Would need some damn good mental conditioning and brainwashing for them not to rebel in those conditions.

"You'll need to apologise to Kid Flash." I nod. Yeah. That's fair. "But so will he. To you. And M'gann already said she's fine. They're all going out for pizza. Team bonding, like I said. You still in, or…?" He trails off, and I wonder if there's a deeper meaning to his query. Probably not. Maybe so. Hard to say.

"... yeah. I'm in."

I like your Cyborg.

not really. you would just need to deal with "righteousness", and let me tell you that is hard to feel untill you deside not to feel gult, and you would turn them all into glass cannons.

Ok, great.

So, how are they going to induce these emotions? Kinda hard to feel happiness as a mindless drone. Anger they could do, but laser blasts aren't exactly the best weapon ever. Even starfire, an above average example of her species, has issues taking things down with them. So, in order to get any use out of them, you need for them to be not mindless, have the full range of emotions, and be strictly controlled.

Good luck with that. Unless they have some form of emotion altering collars, which they don't, they can't really use them.

Aren't they strictly mind control and telepathy though?
Probably not a far cry from those to emotion induction. Alternatively, put in specialised organs for inducing the correct emotions. Or, perhaps, do research into why those abilities are triggered by emotions and just cut out the middleman.

Fair enough, still a lot of work when there are other, better, options to go with for the same powers.

Seriously! Vyor, what's so special about you? QQ keeps alerting me whenever you post in this thread, and no one else, other than Guile a single time

Did you check it after getting those alerts every time? In my experience the alert system alerts you to the first post made in the thread since you last viewed it, and nothing else (aside from OP alerts which are separate) until you view the thread again. That means it could just be a case of luck, and Vyor posted next after every time you checked the thread.

I checked it after the first time Vyor posted, but didn't check it until he posted a third time.

Those are also options.

Seems like we have one massive case of rejection of reality, followed by substitution of your own :p

How about: I find this to be an interesting twist on the 'Young Justice Lantern SI' formula. Fusing Teen Titans and Young Justice is a pretty major shakeup I look forward to seeing where it goes. The mental contamination/positive feedback loop of contempt has initial elements of being different, but it's too soon to really stand apart IMO. TotalAbsolutism, you've done a good job making a character powered by what's basically hate into someone not completely flat. Huria puts good explanations to why he disagrees with people, and makes an effort to be, if not nice, fair to people. When he's an asshole, he suffers the consequences and recognizes his mistakes. He feels like just a normal Joe given crazy power, and has a genuine desire to do good.
