    • The next few days fell into a routine: Heavy training with his mother, his father, Nana and Papa, and his friends. His father and Nana taught him swordsmanship and Aura slash techniques, while his mother and Papa focused on overall combat, Aura strengthening techniques, and tactics. A few visitors from the militia or his other relatives dropped in too, and Professor Goodwitch even pitched in. By the time the weekend rolled around, Jaune was, in a word: Exhausted.

    A sentiment shared by pretty much everyone else as they relaxed in the shade of the trees near the farmhouse after the last training session... Except Pyrrha.

    Pyrrha: "Wow... I've never trained this hard before... Being beaten into the ground and defeated! It's... It's been so long!" grins "Your parents never went all out like this in combat class at Beacon, Jaune! Do you think when Summer Break is over they could-?"

    Weiss: "NO! You-You battle junky!"

    Yang: "What's the matter, Weisscream? Afraid his dad will use you like a bludgeon again?"

    Weiss: "YES! And you can't talk! Doctor Arc threw you like a missile!"

    Yang: "Yeah... Thanks for reminding me... Ow..."

    Jaune: sighs "Well... No pain no gain. Nngh. And honestly? I want us all as strong as possible for what comes next."

    Ruby: "Y-Yeah... Just think! Just a few more weeks of this! We're gonna be... So awesome..."

    Blake: groans "... Jaune... Did you hear anything else about Sienna?"

    Jaune: "No. They're keeping me out of the loop on this one. It'll help with selling the story to Cinder."

    Jaune's Brain: I hope. They still haven't told me what the plan is...

    Nora: "Don't worry Jaune. We'll be extra convincing. 'All hail Salem, Queen of Evil! Inventor of the Super Baconator Deluxe!'"

    Jaune: "Good to know what your loyalty is worth, Nora."

    Nora: "Hee!"

    Jaune: "But... Seriously guys. Just stay out of it, okay? As far as Cinder knows, Pyrrha is my broken slave and the rest of you have no idea about me. Don't get involved, don't try to intervene. We have to play this smart."

    Weiss: frowns "... As much as I don't like it, I agree."

    Blake: "Same."

    Ruby: "... Yeah." At Yang's scowl "What? I know the basics of Secop. We can't make this any more complicated."

    Yang: "... You could just say you broke me, too, Jaune."

    Jaune: "Pyrrha's Semblance prevents any electronic surveillance. And me breaking you like her makes things complicated. We need to sell this, Yang. Cinder's already gonna be questioning why Sienna Khan came here."

    Yang: sourly "Assuming she hasn't talked to her boss by now about you."

    Jaune: "Yeah... Yeah..."

    Ren: "We have little choice but to hope for the best. And as for the worst case scenario, we are training to counter her. It is all we can do. Stressing out over it won't help."

    Jaune: "True..."

    Yang: "But you're going to stress anyway, aren't you?"

    Jaune: "It's kind of what I do."

    Ruby: pouts "I can stress too! I'm a team leader as well!"

    Jaune: "Yeah but I've got a lot more experience at it..."

    Nick walks up, grinning happily.

    Nick: "All right, good work everyone! Jaune, you're really coming along!"

    Jaune: flush, smile "Thanks Dad."

    Nick: "Now, you guys get the weekend off! Get a headstart on it, huh? How about you take Yang for a ride, Jaune?"

    Jaune: "Ah?"

    Yang: blush "A-A ride?!"

    Nick: "On your motorcycle. What did you think I meant?" smirk

    Jaune: "Oh... Um... Y-Yeah... Thanks Dad..."

    Jaune takes Yang's hand and leads her away. They get to the garage and get on Jaune's motorcycle. Yang holds him from behind, and Jaune sets out. They ride the dirt roads within Radian proper, and then head to the gate. They go out of the town proper, the bike's Dust engine purring as they zoom down the road.

    Yang: "You sure about going out of Radian like this?!"

    Jaune: "This whole area is mostly depopulated, but the militia still maintains the outer walls from when the city was bigger! So we're pretty safe out here! Worst that will sneak in is a Beowulf or two!"

    Yang: "Then gun it!"

    Jaune does so, and the engine roars. They drive at VERY unsafe speeds for a while on the older roads, zooming around tight corners, jumping over ditches, before they come to a small grove of trees near a shrine. There's a statue of a knight, head bowed in prayer, holding a sword. It is covered in vines. Jaune gets off and begins to clean off the statue, while Yang watches.

    Yang: "Who's this?"

    Jaune: "My ancestor Roland III. He was the last king of Gallia. The last Arc who was a king."

    Yang: "He quit to hang out here?"

    Jaune: "Yeah... After he had to kill his dad."

    Yang: "Um..."

    Jaune: "Oh, he was called the Mad King. He was an asshole, sacrificing kids to Grimm in the hopes of becoming a god."

    Yang: "Ah. That kind of asshole."

    Jaune: "Yeah..." laughs "Sorry. Not exactly a romantic spot, is it?"

    Yang: "No... But I'm fine with getting some air." She hugs him tightly "Felt a little stifled."

    Jaune: "Tell me about it... I love my family. I really do... But-"

    Yang: laughs "Yeah... I-I get it." Brushes some hair behind her ear "So... You doing okay?"

    Jaune: "I mean... I'm still worried about stuff. I do that..." He hugs her "But we have plans... And I trust all of us."

    Yang: "Yeah... Still... We have an immortal evil witch to deal with."

    Jaune: "We do."

    Yang: "... You got a plan for her?"

    Jaune: sighs "... Sort of? Again... One issue at a time."

    Yang: nods "Mm..."

    They sit down on a bench near the statue and just hold eachother. Yang rests her head on his chest. The sounds of nature fill the air, and relax them both.

    Jaune: "Are you worried?"

    Yang: "... Nah. I mean... A little. I know I was a dumbass in the future... In a lot of ways."

    Jaune: "I was the biggest one."

    Yang: "Always gotta one up me for how bad you had it, huh?"

    Jaune: "Wha-No, I-!"

    Yang: "I mean, what, do I have to give up an arm and a leg?" smirk

    Jaune: sighs, snickers, runs his hand through her hair "That's not funny."

    Yang: "Still made you laugh."

    Jaune: "Yeah... Thanks."

    Yang: "I guess what I mean is... I dunno. Before I met you, I just had this vague idea of my future. Become a badass Huntress, go and explore Remnant on my own on my bike. I didn't figure I'd help save the world."

    Jaune: "Heh... Same."

    Yang: "Or wreck it... We didn't do a good job in the future, did we?"

    Jaune: "No... No. We kind of sucked."

    Yang: "So we don't suck this time."

    Jaune: "Just like that?"

    Yang: "We're doing a lot better this time around, aren't we? Aware of the threat, working to fight it... Not screwing over everyone?"

    Jaune: "Yeah..."

    Yang: "So." She pokes in the forehead "Stop worrying so damn much. You've been this serious Captain Vale in edgy comics all week. I want my sexy dork back."

    Jaune: "Ow..." chuckles, kisses her "Mm... You're right."

    Yang: "Damn right I am."

    Jaune: "This is... I guess that's the part I love most about you, Yang. You just light up a room, you cheer me up, you make me happy."

    Yang: bright red "G-Geez... Not even gonna spout poetry at me? I feel like I'm not getting the full knight's experience, ya know? But..." sexy grin "I bet I can keep up with a knight all night long, hmmm? Or a long knigh-"

    Jaune: bright red, kisses her "Mmmmm..."

    • Jaune was sparring with his father just outside the farmhouse, their swords clashing against eachother. Jaune struck furiously, trying to get past his father's defense. Nick for his part was keeping a strong defense, never giving up an opening.

    Nick: "Don't be so straight forward, try the unorthodox!"

    Jaune feinted with his sword, and then thrust his shield forward to bash Nick's sword aside. He charged forward to strike with his sword, but Nick pulled back and deflected it with his gauntlet. Nick went on the offensive, Jaune holding his ground.

    Nick: "You're holding your sword too tightly!"

    Jaune loosened up and, after parrying one of Nick's strikes with his blade, immediately thrust forward. Nick caught his sword and yanked it out of Jaune's hand, sending it spinning into the air. Nick caught it and pointed both swords at Jaune.

    Nick: "Now, too loosely." He tossed the sword back to Jaune, who caught it

    Jaune: "Haa... Am I getting better?"

    Nick: proudly "Much. Pyrrha taught you well."

    Jaune: "Yeah... As did my other friends. We did train together a lot... A lot of it was just so I could get better. Ugh, that sounds selfish-"

    Nick: "You decided to solve a problem so you weren't a liability. There's no shame in that." He gripped his shoulder "You did well."

    Jaune: flush "Thanks Dad... Um... I need some advice?"

    Nick: "Hm? About what?"

    Jaune looked over to the other field near the house. Pyrrha was sparring with Arturia, while Yang sparred with Isabel. The rest of RWBY and JNPR were scattered around the field, looking exhausted and resting between bouts.

    Nick: "Hmmm... You know son, if you add Ren to your harem, I'll still love you-"

    Jaune: "DAD!"

    Nick: "Hahaha!" Claps Jaune on the shoulder "Come on son! Loosen up! Too much stress will kill you as easily as a blade or fist or claw."

    Jaune: "I know, I know... It's just... I love Yang. I really do." He gets all dreamy as he watches her fight Isabel "I really do. I want to be together with her forever."

    Yang looked up and smiled happily, waving at him. He waved back. She then charged back into brawling with Isabel.

    Nick: "But?"

    Jaune: "But... I mean... Other women care about me, too."

    Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Pyrrha all look his way. With varying degrees of interest.

    Nick: "And are you thinking of breaking up with Yang for any of them?"

    Jaune: "No! Of course not!"

    Nick: "And you care about them all?"

    Jaune: "Yes, of course I do-!"

    Nick: "But all this unrequited love is difficult to handle and messes with team cohesion, right?"

    Jaune: "Yeah... I don't even know how it happened. Only one or two of these girls ever showed me any interest in the future."

    Nick: nods "Ah. You see son, I had a similar problem as your age. Lots of girls interested in me. I didn't really understand romance at the time, so I just thought everyone wanted to be good friends."

    Jaune: "Uhhh... I see."

    Jaune's Brain: How dense could he have been?

    Nick: "Why, this one lady from Atlas locked us into a room and stripped naked and asked me to warm her up... And I got her a blanket!"

    Jaune's Brain: Okay, that dense...

    Nick: "Hahaha! Boy was I dumb. But through it all, your mother was there for me. She helped me stay out of trouble, become stronger, and defeat bad guys. She helped me learn, become wiser, and grow. She made me better, and I wouldn't trade her for anyone. Does Yang make you feel that way, son?"

    Jaune: "Yeah..."

    Nick: "But?"

    Jaune: sighs "... I've doing all this for them. To prevent that terrible future. So... Yeah."

    Nick: "Well son, you have three options. One? Stick with Yang, and let these feelings go. The girls will find other guys. That's not your concern. Two, you break up with Yang, explore these feelings with the other girls. Go on dates and see how things go. Maybe one of them is better for you, and maybe you're better for them."

    Jaune: "... And the third option?"

    Nick: "Harem. Like your Papa and Nana."

    Jaune: "DAD!"

    Nick: "What? It's an option! Heck if I knew it was an option, I'd still choose your mother! But if we could have worked it all out-"

    Jaune: "No! Nonono! I don't need to know, Dad!"

    Glynda Goodwitch approaches.

    Jaune's Brain: Oh thank God.

    Jaune: "You're here for me?"

    Glynda: "Yes."

    Jaune: "Great!"

    Nick: "Hey Glynda! I was just telling Jaune here about if I'd known harems were an option, I might have asked you to marry me too!"

    Glynda: bright red "I... I see."

    Jaune: "DAD!"

    Nick: "Though you know, given Jaune here has a lot of attention, you could always give him a try! He's single, after all!"

    Jaune: "DAD!"

    Glynda: "I'll... Keep that in mind."

    Nick: "Hahaha!" pats Jaune on the shoulder "Again son: You gotta loosen up!"

    Jaune: "I... Yeah. I'll try, Dad. Thanks."

    They walk away. Jaune looks at Glynda, who is flushing a bit.

    Jaune: "... Um... Professor, I want to assure you that uh... I-I mean you are very attractive but um-"

    Glynda: "Mister Arc. Kindly don't bring this subject up. Ever again."

    Jaune: "Yes ma'am. Totally fine with that, ma'am."

    Glynda: "We won't have a conversation of this nature unless you break up with your girlfriend and suddenly gain twenty years in age."

    Jaune: "Yes ma'am."

    Jaune's Brain: Okay, so... Good to know I'm not the full on Harem Protag. Geez... Yeah she's hot and amazing but... Wait why am I trying to talk myself into this?! Or am I talking myself out? This was so much easier when I didn't have teenaged hormones, ugh...

    Jaune: "Soo-"

    Glynda: "We will discuss this inside."

    Jaune: "Yes ma'am."

    They made it to Arc-En-Ciel castle, and went to a private meeting room.

    Glynda: "Your mother had some help from General Ironwood to ensure this room is isolated and safe electronically. And we installed a direct link to Beacon."

    She activates the holographic imager system, and Ozpin appears.

    Ozpin: "Hello Jaune. How is summer vacation going?"

    Jaune: "Busy, I'm afraid."

    Ozpin: small smirk "Indeed. Well, you'll be pleased to know we've created a good cover story for Sienna. She did work with your parents in the past before she left the Atlasian military. So she came here to surrender after being overthrown. It wasn't like she could go to Atlas."

    Jaune: "I suppose that's true." Okay, glad it was simple. "Hopefully Cinder will buy it. Do we know what she's up to?"

    Ozpin: "As a matter of fact, we do. We have an inside source now."

    Jaune: "What? Who?"

    Ozpin stepped aside... And Neo popped into view of the holoviewer. She smirked and waved.

    Jaune: "Neo?!"

    Jaune's Brain: Crap that's seriously not good. Salem only had a small team, how many more does she have in this reality? Crap, I can't even remember the OCs I made.

    Ozpin: "Yes. We're seeing what we can find out about them. But, Miss Neapolitan guessed you were a double agent and handed over her intel on them to gain an audience."

    Jaune: "Ah... I see."

    Neo looked smug.

    Jaune's Brain: Unless this is a double or triple bluff to infiltrate us back-Gah! Don't overthink it! It's possible to be too paranoid...

    Jaune: "Neo... Listen. I'm glad you joined us but-"

    Neo: signs "Just make sure Roman and I can retire to a nice beach somewhere and we'll help you out, stud. Maybe give me a baby, hm?"

    Jaune: bright red "Uhhhh..."

    Neo: giggles silently "You're such an easy mark. It's a wonder you fooled Cinder."

    Jaune: flush "Better hope we both keep fooling her."

    Neo: "Sure thing, studly. I'm going now."

    She walked out. Ozpin and Glynda watched her go. Glynda scowled.

    Glynda: "No manners, that one."

    Ozpin: "Unsurprising, really." sips

    Jaune: "Just make sure she's really gone before you talk about anything sensitive. And watch your food and drink."

    Jaune didn't know if his headcanon that Cinder had poisoned Ozpin to make the fight against him so easy was true here, but better safe than sorry.

    Ozpin: "Indeed. Well, until you return, please: Enjoy your vacation. You too, Glynda."

    Glynda: "I'll do my best."

    The holo-call ended. Jaune sighed.

    Jaune: "Hey. Sorry you had to resolve a hostage situation while on vacation, Professor."

    Glynda: "That is not your fault, Mister Arc. Though honestly, I'm struggling a bit with not having anything to do."

    Jaune: "I get it. I've been running at full steam since I got my memories of the future. And I don't think I had a break as the Rusted Knight."

    Glynda: paused "... Yes, I suppose you didn't."

    Jaune: "If it helps it is as weird for me as you that I end up as the Rusted Knight." He sighed and rubbed his face.

    Glynda: "I take it your friends didn't take that revelation well?"

    Jaune stared at her, surprised. Glynda smirked slightly.

    Glynda: "I am very observant, Mister Arc. I knew you were a fraud from the moment you stepped into this Academy, after all. Ozpin insisted you remain, so you did."

    Jaune: "Fair... And no. They didn't."

    Glynda: "... If it comes down to it, you still will sacrifice yourself to your fate?"

    Jaune: "If I have to? If it saves lives? ... Yeah. I will."

    Glynda: "I see why they were unhappy."

    Jaune: "I'm not thrilled about it myself, either."

    Glynda: nods "I know. But it is admirable you are willing to go through with it if necessary."

    Jaune: "I... Thank you, Professor. I appreciate it."

    Glynda: smiles "Good. Now, let's get back to your home, shall we? I believe the training will be done for the day. You can go and have some fun."

    Jaune: "Thanks... And so can you, you know. I mean, there's gotta be something you like to do outside of work, right?"

    Glynda: hums "... I did enjoy dancing. A long time ago."

    Jaune: "Well... I'm taking Yang to a barn dance tonight. You're free to show up. I don't think you'll have any shortage of potential partners."

    Glynda: flush "Yes, well... Thank you. I will consider it."

    Jaune: "Sweet!"

    Jaune's Mind: Man though... Glad she's not the type to sleep with her student. Yeah it's hot in porn but definitely problematic in reality...

    Jaune: "Humina humina..."

    Blake: "I thought you'd be angry about that, Yang." She's in a purple sundress with a strap hanging down seductively on her shoulder.

    Yang: glare "I am when it's you."

    Blake: smug

    Jaune's Brain: Oh boy... Please, nobody else-

    Pyrrha: "Hello Jaune~!" In a loose white top, long red skirt, and her hair up with a warm smile.

    Jaune: "Ah, hey Pyr..."

    Pyrrha: "I do hope I can get a dance in?"

    Jaune: "Uhhhh..."

    Yang: Takes Jaune's arm very firmly "Maybe one... If you behave."

    Weiss: "That's hardly fair, Yang." Of course she was in a slim blue dress that showed off her legs. Why wouldn't she be?

    Yang: "He's my boyfriend! And I don't share!"

    Ruby: pops up in daisey dukes and a red bikini top, and latches onto Jaune's back like a monkey "But good girls share! Sister Lucy told us that!"

    Yang: "That's for toys, not boyfriends!"

    Nora: In a tank top and short-shorts, dragging Ren along "Hey Jaune-Jaune! Did we miss the catfight?"

    Jaune: "No, and you're not gonna see one."

    Ren: "That will be a first."

    Well, look at it this way: My favorite Gospel in the Bible is Mark's. It doesn't tell the story of Jesus being born and his childhood and all that-It just gets on with the story and focuses on the important stuff.

    That's pretty close to his mindset. And how it's going. Maybe it's because he's a lot more mature than anyone else and this is very attractive to these girls. Maybe it's because Remnant has a cultural mindset that says that polygamy is all right given they're on a Deathworld and all (which wasn't gotten into by CRWBY because they have the writing imagination of a bunch of turnips). Or maybe it's just the Jaune Arc Harem Lead curse.

    Plus he finally revealed that he is Remnant #1 Fairytale Hero that time travelled to save them specifically and loves and cherishes all of them, warts and all. After being in a timeline were they made the worse choices and he endured an eldritch reality for up to 100+ years [he keeps saying it was 20 but that's not better] were he knew he would be poisoned to help a child and did it anyway, just to again wait for them
