Actually I think those plans are both compatible, what do you think of this?

[X]Chi-Chi is to make full speed laterally away from the enemy forces on a vector that will keep her in the system.
[X]Subs delay. If a scout becomes separated 2 subs should ambush it before pulling back. Their main target will be to hit the Shoryuu in a hit and run when the escorts are far enough to not be able react.
[X] Remain hidden behind Chi-chi's bulk until the cruisers are fully committed to attacking Big Sis, then fire at them with both broadsides.
-[X] Defend Big Sis from the parasites and any missile salvos with your PD after they know Ciara is there.

The defending Big Sis part would naturally come when the cruisers get close enough for us to ambush them, until which point we would remain hidden. Honestly Plan Redaeth feels incomplete since it has no mention of the subs or scouts, and while Fallenblades643 plan is good it doesn't make any mention of what Ciara does other than take shots from a large distance. Combining them makes it feel more complete to me, let me know if it messes something in your plans up. If not I'll just assume it is good and vote for both like that.
 
wayne82444, BFldyq - won't that plan expose Ciara to the enemies' line-of-sight? I get that most of the stealth involved comes from dimming our energy signature by riding in her wake, but unless I'm badly mistake, vision is still a thing.

Biigoh? Am I badly mistaken?

Combat turn is basically 1 action (you can try to do MORE actions, but you get penalties)... riding in stealth and doing broadsides to enemy ships is fine as a single action.

Also, you have some control over the actions of your fleet sisters, as they're basically following the voted "Battle Plan".

"Vision" in this case is basically the ship sensors... they are your eyes. And So is CHEATING with her binoculars. :3

So line-of-sight is not a thing in the traditional sense, at least not in the context of detection. Yes?

In any case,

I trust the subs to handle their portion of the fight without our input. They've worked together before, they know this enemy, and they know what we're doing.

Well... "line of sight" is kind of meaningless in any space battle, basically, what you've got is "sensor range", you can see everything in that range IF there is nothing acting against you... such as the stealth rolls invoked by the submarines and Ciara being used against the sensors of the enemy.

huh, so far 70+ across the board. At least the battle with Ciara and ChiChi is going well.
