I think we should at least get up to Saber. Obviously we don't want to remember the conclusion of the Grail War, but the bits before that was good.

Additional clarification; this is what each of the options means, specifically;

Fully embracing means you experience everything as Irisviel did directly from her perspective. If you passively observe you will view the events of her life as if you were a ghost floating just above her, following her every step. Rejecting is you shutting out the dreams so that you only view occasional, disjointed scenes.

Nice, thanks.

Also, I like the way you're handling reincarnation in this one, and if I do another reincarnation quest I'm totally stealing your system.

Just, you know, an FYI.

Irisviel manages to persuade the old man into modifying her to have a child with surprising ease. Apparently, it would be more efficient than making another from scratch after Irisviel passes away. Despite his cold reasoning, Irisviel is overjoyed with his acceptance.

She and Kiritsugu have a long talk about their future. They decide to officially get married and to conceive a child together. Before long, their daughter Ilyasviel comes into the world perfectly healthy. It seems to release some final limiter on Irisviel's personality. Seeing her display such a wide range of emotions now as opposed to her in the first dream cycle is like viewing the difference between night and day. These are clearly the most joyful days that she or Kiritsugu will ever experience; and they make sure to take advantage of the calm before the storm, raising their daughter together in blissful harmony.

--

Your father brings someone to visit you one day. It is a man with pointed ears and odd garb who looks at you with a piercing gaze. You look back, head tilted in curiosity, feeling an odd urge to poke his ears.

He glances at your father. "This is the child?"

Your father shifts nervously, speaking with a hesitance you've never seen from him. "Yes.. we've had the most talented mages in the kingdom take a look at her, but none of them could tell us anything. That is why I came to you."

He kneels down and grasps your small hands, speaking gently. "Show him your talents, Charlotte."

"Okay.." You furrow your brow in concentration, and a tiny lattice of wire appears in your palm. You lightly rake it across your palm, flinching from the pain. The wire disappears, and you reverse the wound. You look up at the stranger expectantly. His expression is inscrutable.

An inkling of impatience leaks out into your father's voice. "Well, Bidalsha?"

Bidalsha continues observing you with that intense stare. He does something with his hands gesturing in mid-air that causes a green flash. An odd chill races down your spine, and you shiver involuntarily. He nods to himself and turns toward your father. "..Interesting. She seems to have two souls residing in her body. They are fusing into one; the process is nearly complete. That would be the source of the physical changes, and of her unique skills."

The answer doesn't appear to assuage your father. "Can we do something about it?"

Bidalsha shakes his head negatively. "It is too far along for you to do anything without destroying your daughter. In any case, the effects are not detrimental. I can see no evidence that she is in any danger."

He turns back to you and rests a palm on your forehead, closing his eyes. You squirm under his touch, but he ignores you. "Intriguing. I cannot determine the source. It must be foreign to this world entirely."

"You're sure these.. changes, are not affecting her negatively?"

"At the moment, no. Nor should they. I cannot guarantee anything, however."

Bidalsha casts one last look at you, his eyes showing a spark of interest as he gazes into your eyes. He turns to your father and speaks, "If that's all, I'll be going." He doesn't wait for a response before making his exit.

Your father takes a seat on your bed and massages his temple with his hands, sighing heavily. "..I shouldn't have brought him into this.. but.. we had to know. We had to know if Charlotte would be alright." He sounds like he's trying to convince himself.

He gestures for you to take a seat next to him, and you do. His face is deathly serious, his voice grave. "Charlotte, you must never tell anyone of that man. Do you understand me?"

You're a little frightened at how intense your father is right now. You answer positively, hoping to cheer your father up. "I promise, Da."

--

You exercise your improved speaking skills by chatting with anyone and everyone. Chatting with the maids isn't very fun, as they hardly ever respond except when asked a direct question. They seem afraid of you, and obviously prefer it when you keep mostly silent. You have more luck wandering into the kitchen to find someone to talk to.

The head chef, a wiry fellow with an over-sized hat, doesn't blink an eye when you ask what he's doing. Of course, it's hard for him to blink properly; his left eye is permanently sealed shut, and a scar stretches from his nose to his forehead. He still manages to make delicious food despite this handicap. It also seems to lend him a unique perspective that can look past your otherworldly appearance.

If the other chefs are skittish at your presence in a generally noble-free area, they don't say anything about it. The head chef rules his kitchen with an iron spatula, and his word is law. If he wants to show the princess how food makes it to her plate, then that's exactly what will happen. For all his comments on the cooking process, it hardly tells you anything all that useful; anything done here is mostly beyond you, but it does increase your experience with people besides your family.

You have lots of conversations with your mother about whatever topic strikes your fancy. She takes this as a sign to start making arrangements for tutors to help teach you. You wonder where your father spends most of his time, and your mother tells you that he has a lot of important responsibilities as a high-ranking noble. You inquire next as to what a 'noble' is. She says that a noble is someone who watches over all the other people in the kingdom.

And so it goes, with you asking questions and your mother answering as best she can so that you understand. You learn more about Gallia, your family, and other basic information any child would be expected to know. It barely scratches the surface of the knowledge available to you, but it's a start.

Trait increased: Curious E-

A new king is named this year. Your uncle, Joseph, has ascended to the throne. You probably met him at one of your birthday parties, but you don't remember what he looks like. Your father is still reluctant to let you leave the castle, but your absence from such an important event would obviously be noticed. He seems to have finally resigned himself to the fact that your oddities will be revealed eventually. The coronation is an ideal place for you to appear, as attention will be focused mostly on Joseph and your father.

It is a grand festival, but it is laced with a tension that is felt by all. Even you can tell something is amiss. Despite this, your father makes an impassioned speech supporting his brother and promising a newer and stronger Gallia under his rule. By contrast, Joseph isn't nearly as charismatic. His inaugural address is more statesman-like, telling the crowd what he wishes to say and nothing more. There is no applause when he is finished; nothing but a strained silence as he steps down from the podium. He doesn't even look particularly bothered by the reaction. You don't do more than exchange greetings with him, spending most of the event by your mother's side. You are glad when it is over, and the contentious atmosphere is behind you.

Out of curiosity, does anyone remember if it was the Grail imitating Iri that spoke to Kiritsugu?

Why would we want to be maternal? We're four years old. Besides, as the last post showed, we can get emotions and other stats the normal way, too. It's not just dreams.
