I don't remember the charm off the top of my head but it erases all evidence. I figure Bii can't point to his char sheet and say "See I totally have a Ship" and have weeping return it to him. ;)
oh, because part of why I don't get it is because I can't find a charm with that name. :V

you know, you can get occult, that way you can cast spells in a fight and do other things as well. There are some VERY useful spells in Sorcery that you can use as a conman.

If you take Silent Words of Dreams and Nightmares as your control spell, you can remotely convinve people to do whatever you want them to by invading their dreams.

Alternatively you can use Corrupted Words to silence people in addition to your anima power.

Demon/Elemental minions as usual make for great body guards as you don't have any combat ability. It also allows you to fake being what you are not. I mean you walk in flanked on either side, claiming to be a powerful Sorcerer, which mortal will challenge that? And you ARE a Sorceror, just not a powerful one.

Mists of Eventide allows you to mind control people that fall asleep when posioned by it if it is your control spell. It's why I picked it to help me in combat till I get some MA charms.

Gonna have to veto the sheet. Get at least one combat ability you're proficient at.

??? Why would you need Lore to fool people? That is what Larceny is for. Lore is stuff like academic disciplines of history, mathematics, geography, literature, science, philosophy, and similar scholarly pursuits. having 3-5 dots in Larceny is usually more than enough to disguise yourself. Tricking people is generally Presence, Performance and Socialize + Manipulation.

Lore does not come any way near what you want. Lore is largely for mental stuff. Read the Lore charms, they will give you an idea on what Lore actually does.

Having dots in lore is more like a University Degree more than anything. For general knowldge you can easily get away with Lore 0. Just use Manipulation to lie your ass off. That is what you are normally going to do anyway.

That's... kinda the point of his character. If he got into a fight, then something's wrong.

Umm....you DO realize that weeping wanted you to have some proficiency in a fight right? Problem with your char is that a stiff breeze will kill him, well not really but your char can die to the milita grade enemies and their stats are low. Also Creation is a Dangerous place. So Why wouldn't he learn to defend himself?

To clarify on my previous post, as Throw is unfavored for you, you can't use an excellency in that ability until you buy at least one charm. So you will be using a Dice pool of 5 or 7 with a stunt with no hope of using an Excellency to actually hit the guy. The average defense for most combatants is 3-4. But the actual stats are usually 4 - 2 parry/evasion range. So you will most lightly not be hitting the opponent. At all.

Just favor Throw. That way even if you have only one dot in it, you can use an excellency. So assuming Throw 1 Dex 3. Your pool is 6 with stunt. With Excellency you boost it to 10 and regain the motes with battle respiration. This way you hit things and are doing the bare minimum to get by. Assuming 50% sux and a good weapon (which my char can make).

So just favor Throw and if you absolutely have to drop it down to one dot. Though I wouldn't recommend it. This way he has the potential to get competent quickly once he realizes how dangerous creation is and can pull his weight in a fight. Especially if he arms himself with bombs my char makes.

About sail...

If sail does not fit your char just drop it, others have sail and are probably going to pick up some charms there, so feel free to drop it. See what fits your char more and pick that. I recommend athletics or Awareness. Personally? Pick awareness as it would fit your char.

Generally you can just stunt knowing stuff. Lore is not necessary for it. Lore rolls are not asked for when you are trying to trick people. Just having a single dot in lore is enough of an excuse to stunt about your char using his knowledge to trick people. You don't even need lore charms to do this. Alternatively, you are going to spend time with people who have lore 5 so that is another excuse to stunt knowledge without any dots in lore.
 
Your character is basically a pinata except when they hit you initiative comes out instead of candy and that Screws over every one else. The enemy can raise up a massive amount of Initiative from you and one shot every one else.

Look at your defenses.

Your Evasion (dex+Dodge/2) is 2 and parry (Dex+Melee-MA/2) is 2. Most common enemies throw around 6 dice and assuming 50% sux, they will hit you unless Kinglugia's char defends other you all the time.

You can take Performance for Awareness if you want. Having 2 Dots in awareness with 4 wits is more than enough to get a decent join battle pool.

Also I would recommend Reed in the Wind over Drifting Leaf Elusion as a better dodge charm. It has the perilous keyword but it only uses 2i per 1 Evasion you raise it by. Combined with an Excellency, they will not be able to hit you and with battle regen and your higher throw pool you will be able to regain the initiative back too.

Alternatively, you can completely dump dodge. you would have low defences but you now have a decent enough attack pool to gain it back. Kinglugia has a defend other build so you can get away with it so long as you get enough Initiative back each turn and using 5m on an Excellency will get it back easily.

No specific details as I'm still poking around the ability and Intimacies, but the gist of it is:
Son of a maritime noble family set for captaining his own ship as a Rite of Passage. His family fell into a rough time before that due to his family's fleet started vanishing, which is blamed on weathers and environmental hazards, although there are suspicions of people meddling due to their rivals' encroaching on their business. This lead to the family being shunned and massively in debt. The family also have to figure out alternative means of gathering money as their reputation was in tatters and they effectively cannot work on a ship.

He first worked as an Official (or Book Keeper, whatever) before finding that it's too slow to pay the enormous debt on its own he started to resort to corruption and bribery before started his scam and con career. He faked permits, got people to sponsor bogus caravans, and divert a portion of the gold to himself. He got discovered, bounced away and started again elsewhere.

Kinda a repeat of an argument but why didn't he try to contact the local spirits to bargain with them or hire a Sorceror.Your trouble seems supernatural and hiring a sorceror to help you seems the most logical thing to do. I mean they are rare but doable and Sorcerors, even mortal ones make money hand over fist as their services are that valuable. Sure you would have to shell out a crap ton of money to get that guy to agree to help you. Alternatively, you could have flattered the local spirits and have help you in return for worship and other concessions.
 
Combination between actual supernatural and intrigue works actually. Sure, some of them was because of supernatural, but majority of it were mortal handiwork. They just can't get enough evidence proving so.
 
We planned for a sea campaign. Ironic, because now I am living it. My whole city is flooded, one month's worth of rainfall in one day and the worst flooding in 100 years. This is after a cyclone that partially flooded the city just a week ago. Forecast is heavy rain for the next week and I am not sure if I will get continued Electricity let alone Internet access, so please excuse any long absences if it happens.

Things will probably stabilize in 2 or so weeks, I hope.
