Has anyone played the new VTM deck builder? I've considered playing it despite one of the artists having a style with clashes with all the others to the point of being Garish (the one who makes everything in a super "paint" style with extreme colors and horrific proportions) due to being one of the guys who made art for V5 since it came out

The Chicago books really had a lot of plot threads that never got followed up on for VTM

Such as Yaryan a Native American brujah that started his own bloodline (though he might have become a caitiff) and developing a new discipline related to the umbra

V5 is kind of egregious in that as they made multiple new Native American vampires including a caitiff that might be a methuselah and another that was a werewolf kinfolk

Lodin's kid Lorraine seems to have been cut out along with most caitiff that weren't Maldavis (who I never really cared about)

As a concept Yaryan has a lot of possible stories to go with as it is the development of a "modern" bloodline and the likelihood of him still having a hateboner on Helena for genociding the Native Americans along with wherever his sire is in torpor on top of the menele plotline (though he also lowkey hates him as well for involving the americas in that blood feud)

Helena and Melene are one of the points where I tend to retcon things because of the mess of Greek mythology involved and WoD drastically changing their relationship or have it be that Those Aren't Their Names

I ran a VTM game where I went "yeah I am ignoring the books, this is just Meneleus and Helen of Sparta. She gets pissed off if you call
her Trojan and can and will break your spine over her knee. They disagreed on the destruction of Carthage."

Welp looks like they are down with WOD after Bloodlines 2

Typical IGN reporting can't even keep 2 and 3 separate or in a sensible way.

It is somewhat old news but I feel like the key problem is that the entire development cycle seems to have been a shit show with everything going on with the writers (having people there in name but kept out of doing stuff) and later making an entirely different game with a new studio that Doesn't Do RPGS either

Paradox also has well, a track record when it comes to games

It is incredibly strange that the people who make Crusader Kings didn't use the Dark Ages Crusades storyline for a game. Modders outright made a VTM game out of CK3

Part of the problem is that Paradox tried to spread out of the niche content, to try and do more then what they were known for.

It failed badly, for a variety of reasons. This has lead them to a retrenchment in terms of what they are focusing on.

I assume their "analyst" said that it's not worth it, as in not enough people would buy a game like that to make it worth having the team work on something like that, as in their time would be better spend making next DLC for CK3. Which makes sense form business standpoint.

What do you mean by spread out niche content?

Had too many releases of niche content

Thaumathurge, Atryia (Or How You Spell it) and Psychic Vampire.

I mean, they tried to grow their brand beyond the EU4/CK3/HoI4/Stellaris 4x style games. They wanted to get into things like RPGs and other forms of games, outside what their core competency is. It was a failure though, so they have done a retrenchment back into said core parts of their business.

I vaguely remember either Giovanni Chronicles or Transylvania chronicles having one of the chapters include a hundred year old loli ghoul that liked bondage, mainly because that stuck out to me and i was wondering why it was there other than because author fetish.

I don't know which one it was but when trying to remember NPCs i remembered that and i think the giovanni one having a different NPC that was a prostitute a giovanni vampire liked to claw up. Mostly because I think she had the name rose and they reused said name for a different NPC

Given what the Giovanni get up to. A machcostic loli ghoul makes sense for them.

The weird fetish stuff in WOD makes it perfect for someone's magical realm porn story.

As I have done VTMB and other modern/2000s vampire stories on qq before I've considered doing a dark ages one

Which is funnier

A Scandinavian descendant of Michael (toreador) having to explain for the hundredth time that no he isn't a Gangrel or Tremere while using runes to throw hellfire around (Runewise) or a Lasombra who has to tell people that no he isn't intentionally transubstantiating the Eucharist

Either way the vampire is a knight that genuinely believes in chivalry even if they aren't fully on board with the god part

The storyline may loosely follow the Transylvania chronicles and other dark ages storylines (Constantinople fuck up, courts of love and such)

I would vote for the Scandinavian - that also has great potential when he runs across the right or wrong Lupines, Mages or maybe some Dreamers (Huldas etc.)

Being suspected to be a Gangrel or Tremere could be very deadly, especially in the "old country",

Also It maybe because it's to early for my brain to work, but I don't get the Lasombra "joke" as to why they would suspect them.

This is one of the most un-Lasombra things out there.

there is a merit which is basically "I don't know why this happens or how but miracles happen around me" including the Eucharist turning to flesh and blood, crying statues, etc
Is there any good Vampire story where the protagonist is a Gangrel.
I made a finished VTMB AU story with a Gangrel as the protagonist

Because no one said "don't eat other vampires in the first night fighting the Sabbat" he ate multiple and never thought to ask anyone about that until much later

Gave it a read. Now at chapter 11, I think? It's a little weird but due to some demonic entity Jubal and co got trapped in some mental hell, he gets to see Jack's past.

He saved some vampire Gangrel, the one in-game that went on a killing spree out of some vengeance-fuelled rage?

Stats, wise, how good Jubal is at Protean, Animalism and Fortitude?

Oh boy, I just reached dthe chapter where he took a bite out of a Sabbat vampire. The writing gets confusing for me from time to time but I like it

Who are your favourite Vampire clans and why?

Mine is Gangrel on account of their unique shapeshifting ability from transforming into a myriad of animals and if you get good enough, can even turn into something like a bunch of bats or mist.

Their Antediluvian parents know this best, that bare-feet goddess whose name I coincidentally forgot.

Yes, they're filthy animals that are just...barbaric but hey, which Clan hasn't fallen from grace?

Malkavian, I don't really understand why I just think there interesting and complex and can have a lot of fun with them.
Oh yes, of course. They are ethe ones that see through all the bullshit and political nonsense. They have their heads on. Why Therese Voermann is a stunning example of discipline.

Her sister is just as sane. These twins are masters of the LA streets.

For VTM: (Koldun) Tzimisce, even if I think they are mostly misused since people tend to go for "muhahaha look how evil I am I turned this person into a chair" instead of the much scarier "soft-spoken and polite young man/woman" and you slowly begin to realize how completly alien they actually are.

Also I like playing the most androgynous character out there.

P.S. They also can (theoretically) turn into dragon and we all know the rule "Be yourself, unless you can be a dragon, then be a dragon"

For VTR: Circle of the Crone Mekhet because I enjoy the whole occult neo-pagan stuff (who would have thought with me rocking a Verbena logo as pfp)

One of them is Vlad Tepes.

Also I like playing the most androgynous character out there.
Do they apply additional flesh on their body like grafting? To shape their body? Pretty freaky if you ask me but hey to each their own.

VTM fans are quite the horny goth types to begin with. Or so I heard.

No, they mostly work with what is already there, grafting would be a higher level power. Which is why this can't be used to just "give" yourself max strength, additional health and stuff like that.
