Godslayers and Goddesses (Nikke X Destiny, Semi-Crack)

Just realized a plot point I missed

Infinity Rail was made to team up with Exotic to save the people of The Ark by destroying The Ark….Exotic's bombing of the original train is why they are both squads of NIKKE

Crow is also standing with the rest of the cast as allies/friends and were there for the diplomatic meetings with the city's leadership and watching the current gladiator show

Diesel should be feeling really betrayed right about now towards Lukas

Is SIN gonna get her power limiting mask back? Or she'll find too many people with a "resistance" towards her powers, for it to work?

Also, shame that Liliweiss' mostly dead, she used to be a pilot

And I can say that Lukas' gonna need extra room in his spaceship to bring all the girls to see the stars. From what I could tell, technology on NIKKE!Earth only had that space elevator rather than any other signs of more advanced space travel. Best not to "bump into him" with soft big squishy parts whilst flying.

The Ark population don't have generations of hatred towards the Eliksini that the Last City's got, so it'd be pretty bewildering to get caught in the riots against the Xenos. More humiliating for what's left of the Central Government, to be left out on talks with the alien empire that are the Cabal, too.
Need to address that at some point, but Lucas was not doing well mentally when the Ark was being evacuated.

The Witness had been talking through his Ghost to him since the Vex first showed up, and everyone noticed its effects on him.

Edit: Since it will probably save me more headaches, I'm gonna just go and retcon my statements about the AZX Bombing's exact details being in the open now. I'll push back the full reveal until Season of the Lost or Haunted.

Alright

Now that I think about it, would be surprising for The Ark's guys to know that even for The Last City, they don't know who/what their foe is

I mean they just referred to it as The Darkness

They can think of it as an evil energy source

But others who would look up the history, could think of it as a general term for a bunch of alien races who all had some beef with the Traveler, going to SOL to screw over its current chosen race

Would then confuse them because the Fallen don't look to have the military power to have beaten the Golden Age

Will be surprising for them to know that one of The Last City's greatest heroes' considered a genocidal monster by the other newcomers to the place

Then follow it up with talks of "the Fallen ate children!"

Elegg could make BOOM comparisons in secret….maybe time to see if The Traveler could run BOOM since the Ark's destroyed

Speaking of The Traveler, do the Raptures see anything in this God-Machine that's NOT like them and is alive?

Also, I don't think it's been mentioned

But Guardians don't remember their past lives, their current names may not even be their original ones

I guess the comparisons between them and the NIKKE could be closer with stuff like that

Though, they are very much more respected if not revered….then there's how they are a good portion of the place's leadership

Shaxx is gonna give a storytelling session in a bit to get the general point between the Golden Age and now sorted out.

The Raptures can feel that there is something very different in the Traveler compared to them.

Lucas will reveal the stuff with Guardians not remembering their past lives soon enough. Rapi is probably going to use this as a chance to firmly claim him as hers.

Shaxx reveals that back then he was Shaxx…also a warlord, surprisingly the giant spherical God-Machine may not have been a good judge of character for many of its "Risen", same goes for the Ghosts.

That The Last City started off as a tent city instead of something made with Rapture Tech(those cubes, definitely)would sound impressive

Rapi explains her backstory with Red Hood around to hear it with everybody else, rather than having "inherited" her powers

The Central Government and Big Three get looks from the Last City's people, when they realize that in The Ark, they could just pick up some corpses of women or close enough and get their brains without needing to get family to sign.

Yeah, something like that.

I want Crow to throw a subtle jab in about the idea of the Traveler choosing poorly, only for Shaxx to undercut the argument by referencing his time as a warlord. He refutes her claims by proving they're right, but also that Guardians can change.

They can change, even for the worse

They're not saints, not even Saint-14 and whilst I haven't gotten to him

There is a problem when your civillian and combat populace are that interweaved

It's like that scene from Game of Thrones involving the Dothraki….their "camp followers" are FAR from innocent as their non-combatants chase after and brutalize villagers

Point is, they're people and not perfect, they don't have all the details or advantages

Wait, Lukas kept his abilities a secret right? But talked of his boss(Ikora Rey), so they knew he was from somewhere else already?

Counters knows some of the details. Even then, he was careful what he told them.

So they mostly knew he was ex-armed forces of some kind? A bit mysterious because he really is a stranger to The Ark, up to not even having an identification chip but not being from the Outer Rim either and found on the surface

Mystery only increases his competence and coolness rating

Also, I think it's funny that the Goddess Squad now has people older than them around

Snow White and Neon(age unknown, actually a LOT unknown)can call Banshee-44 their "grandpa" whilst he shows them around his making of sheer firepower

The rest will know guys who've sort of been worn down by time or have just come to accept things, like Shaxx

Yeah.

I'm looking forward to when the Ark learns just what Lucas has beaten (gods in plural) and just how far he is willing to go to protect everyone (read: stasis).

Everything is still being livestreamed, right?

But does the Last City have something like Internet? If so, they could just destinypedia the dude and everything else

Also, the Ark's not fully destroyed right? I think it's a Rapture that was slowly gonna wake up and eat its inhabitants at some point

No - the Ark just had a backup internet thing to bring with them (basically a way to restore any Lost Sectors they managed to reclaim and deemed viable for usage instead of, you know, loot and abandon).

I guess it sorta fits, I think I saw Destiny once being considered a "planetary romance" like Edgar Rice Burroughs' works

Internet connection would ruin much of the science fantasy feel, I think

How much is there for the sudden increase in "adventurers" to do? Because I think for the most part, the protagonists do almost everything of worth/note at some point

Not too many big threats/adventures, at best it's pest control

Also, how did Lucas know who EH was? I thought her name was secret

Given the recent reveals in the New Year story

Was The Ark really destroyed alongside the part that's really important?

In hindsight, whilst the Raptures were likely going off to kill as many Humans and NIKKE as they could in The Ark. I think they could have done so without destroying The Ark as well.

Also, yeah Ingrid's older than she looks just like Mustang and Andersen, but I am not sure if it will contradict the words involving Elysion and Missilis having CEOs who've changed….I guess that Elysion Harper's family were for a time in charge, then Ingrid took back control

Just addressed this on SB, but the part that was really important was saved and moved to Destiny!Earth.

Said important part is now being upgraded to why the Ark was scuttled - the Vex and Tkaen started pumping Radiolaria/Taken essence into it to gain control of said part. Lucas did not want to take chances.

One is destroyed, the other breaks

How did Lucas know of the source? It's a top secret, right?

Also, man Eunwha better take back all the calling him a "weakling"

(Now that I think about it, Eunwha was probably once a Commander during the 2nd Reclamation War)

If Raptures can be captured/converted….Chatterbox should know what karma feels like

Mind if I post an Omake later on involving Banshee-45 and Samantha Wallace?

"Gunsmith, I am a government official and in need of your strongest firearms!"

Rapi recollected the events of Footstep, Walk, Run much earlier in this timeline.

Lucas may have also had his ghost hack the Ark's computers.

For what reason did she share? Also, I think the tech should raise a LOT of eyebrows now. As Ingrid maybe right in that a strong enough will, vision and set of memories could resurrect or even clone someone back into existence. Maybe even create an army of that someone. Regardless of that individual's sheer power.

Did Enikk notice?

Also, reminds me of another Destiny NIKKE fic, the Young Wolf was starting to be treated like Gojo Satoru. Powerful enough to scare the central government into submission whilst protecting a number of individuals from the central government(plus Syuen)'s plans. Like how Gojo protected a number of his friends and students from being targeted just by being there.

If anybody from NIKKE wants Lukas gone, they have to target his Ghost, not sure how hard that is. I mean the Eliksini/Fallen have wanted Saint-14 dead for a long time, but he kept coming back. So I presume a Ghost can disappear and resurrect the body far away.

Rapi told him the truth a day or two after becoming a Risen (so about a month before the Ark was evacuated according to my current timeline) since she realized how…similar she was Lucas (read:someone who started life having no idea what the world was like).

I thought they had become Guardians sometime during the Ark's destruction

Did they die? Or the Ghosts just popped up before them and chose them?

Just a thought, who among them will be the first to get into space and other planets?

"Look guys, I'm holding a space rock!"

From my current plans, Red Hood, as part of the Ark's introduction to gambit, with the map being the Nessus one.

The NIKKE crew will probably blow a few gaskets once they see just what a fully entrenched Vex installation looks like.

Speaking of Crews

Lukas has a fireteam

How many is he gonna bring per operation? Or are the NIKKE gonna spread themselves out doing odd jobs/bounties/mercenary/adventurer-work?

Syuen's gonna be living on charity from the "scrapheaps"

Actually wait, does everybody now know who were secretly NIKKE working in various parts of the Ark, this entire time?

Also, rather unnecessary to ask, but what were Elysion Harper and Doban doing in the market to begin with, before their shouting match?

1. Lucas' fireteam shows up next chapter. General idea is a division of time between doing stuff with them and doing stuff with Counters (his teammates will be trying very hard to ship him with the Nikkes, cause this is the first time they've seen him express interest in anyone in a romantic way).

2. Size is to be determined.

3. Syuen will not be happy.

4. It will eventually be revealed.

5. Didn't think that far out, but ATM, Doban was looking for knives and Elysion was buying food for some of the younger members of Heavenly Ascension.

Just how often do Guardians other than the MC get to do "big things"? Because yeah, it's an entire solar system, but just how many lost civilizations and the like are out there?

Because funny, I am now thinking of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom

On a single planet alone, you can find many many many ruins and hidden enclaves, alien invasions still occur….but from what I can understand most of what the Guardians are currently doing can be called "pest control" as the real big armies have yet to really pop up

Also, I have yet to actually meet the Cabal in-game, but I can see CG maybe trying to "advise" Zavala on things….like how maybe they should submit to the Empress. Really, the Cabal might me a way for the CG to get back some measure of success.

That said, in regards to the Central Government, I have a guess that whilst very shitty. Their choosing to blame NIKKE actually has some pragmatism, as with abandoning Goddess Squad, they intend to reclaim the surface later, before the Rapture Core eats them

It's heartless, but they really expect the Goddesses to be martyrs

You realize the Fallen are very deliberate references to the Green Martians, right?

CG might get moments with the Cabal stuff, but remember that the lore implies Caiatl wanted the Guardians to refuse and challenge her because both outcomes are acceptable - either they do submit to her or all the naysayers to her plans for an alliance die or get a chance to save face.

With how they're hunched over, I kept thinking of them as being expies of the Sangheili/Elites from Halo

Reminds me of this military SciFi short story inspired by a real event

The aliens couldn't understand "equality" and kept insisting on combat by champion to decide whether or not an embassy was valid

If they are references to the Green Martians

Shame that the Young Wolf wasn't called "Warlord of Sol"

Would be quite the whiplash if people hear about Saing-14

Eh, there are a lot of references in Destiny.

I need to sleep now, good night.

I know it makes things more complicated

But why did they still attack, even though they saw Lukas come back to life? Also, if that vid was live-streamed, then everybody knows SHAXX is the real deal

"SHAXX-sensei, what must we do to be as strong as you?"

Would the average person think rationally if their loved ones are harmed, even if it ultimately wasn't a lasting injury?
