Naruto Est Imperare Orbi Universo (Dio Quest)

Aww. You all voted for Guile's plan, instead of unlocking our chakra? Oh well.

[X] "The future." Refuse to elaborate.

[X] Yume ni mukai aruki tsuzukete yuku

"The future," you say, mostly to yourself.

The boy looks up at the sky, and then back at you. "Kekkei genkai?" he asks, enunciating slowly as though he just learned the phrase today.

[X] Yes.

[X] No.

[X] Maybe so.

[X] Write-in

-----

Vin's write in would have been fun. Too bad.

Aww.

Can we have an Omake, at least? You didn't leave the vote open for very long.

[X] Power in the blood, eh? You like how these people think.
[X] Lounge indifferently. "If someone needs chakra to see the future, then they aren't worth my time."

I think we might yet acquire our first minion! Given the number of speedbumps in Stardust Crusaders, just meeting Dio turns you into his flunky.

I took that as him asking if we were seeing the future in the sky with magic ninja powers.

We're not, just visionary.

He's Shikamaru.

He's a fucking Nara.

Really, nothing else needs to be said.

watch his first fight with Hiden.

seriously, i worked out how his powers work faster than Shikamaru did. (not the rest of the plan though, obviously)

that said, even a genius needs something to work with besides a vague "the future" comment as us looking at the sky.

then again, I might be jumping the gun here, it's possible he's asking if we can actually SEE the future, rather than "so you plan to use your sunlight magic to change the future eh?"

o_O How did you extrapolate that? Narudio hasn't even thought about hamon yet IC.

Yeah, he's asking if you can literally look ahead in time.

then again... perhaps the one expecting too much of shikamaru is me.
I think a two-year-old knowing enough about bloodline limits to ask about them and enough about the distinction between concrete reality and conceptual reality enough to ask whether someone means something literally or figuratively is pretty damned impressive, without adding Sherlock Sue powers into the mix.

so do I, which is why I basically shat my pants when I misunderstood the question.

Heh, that would be a great IC response from a SI character though, wouldn't it?

also, actual vote: [X] maybe

[X] Plan Guile

You are aware of bloodline limits, of course. Exceptional individuals and in some cases whole families with specialized abilities beyond the ken of normal ninja (though admittedly, the ken of normal ninja is not difficult to surpass). They more than anything harden your resolve to regain your full strength; it will not do to face, for example, the Uchiha when the question of which of you is strongest cannot be resolved immediately, either by your overwhelming force or by judicious application of a surprise decapitation and body theft.

A kekkei genkai that permitted one to see the future... is a tempting prospect, you cannot deny. But you remember well what became of the last precognitives in your employ. No, on the whole, you would much rather trust to your instincts and skill at extrapolation than the uselessly-specific predictions of a fortune teller.

"Hmm. If someone needs chakra to see the future, they aren't worth my time," you declare.

The boy nods slowly. "Reality is best," he says.

Ha! Yes, indeed.

You think you like this boy.

[X] "I'm Uzumaki Naruto. And you are?"

[X] Wait for him to introduce himself

Our first minion in this world. Maybe. He's lazy, but he knows what he's doing when it counts.
