I am going to finish up my pledge after being distracted. 482 words so far :

An errant thought

It was how we lived

We consulted each other for a moment before Lisa strode boldly into the shop.

"Hello!" I followed after her with a shier smile, making sure my backpack was secure as the owner evaluated us with a careful eye. His gaze passed over our travelling yet pricy gear and the comfortable look of our clothes. His hand trailed away from the alarm under the counter and his features relaxed.

"Welcome. Here to buy, or to sell?" The man asked us and his now smiling face became a little more strained as Lisa's friendly smile became even friendlier. Alas, for all I had come to love Lisa, the girl's smile still evoked more a feeling of imminent doom and dread like from an overeager helper than a reassurance that all sides would walk out happy and in one piece.

I sadly couldn't find the will to correct one of her most endearing trait.

"Both, mostly the later unless something grab our eyes." Lisa went to the counter as per usual while I went looking for a few water filters replacements. The shopkeeper gave me a brief look before he returned all his attention to Lisa as she put a fairly large handbag upon the counter with just enough force to kick up dust and instill herself as the primary negotiator of our duo.

The man eyed the obviously heavy bag with a degree of wariness. He hesitated and glanced as Lisa as the blonde girl leaned against the counter and smiled at him with an inviting gesture. A final looked went toward me checking that I wasn't stealing anything while he was distracted, then his hand moved to the bag and soon halted in sudden surprise as his eyebrows before.

"Silk?" He inquired as his hands tested the yellow cloth and probably counter the many layers. "Not clothes, not sewed, not a kind I recognize. Where is this from?"

"It's spider silk. Dwarkin's bark silk, all of it." Lisa said like the silk was the most wonderful thing in the world, which it was in my absolutely not biased opinion. A glance at the shopkeeper let me see him tense just a little, that slight predatory posture I noted only thanks to Lisa's teaching on the matter.

"Like your clothes?" The man inquired in a tone of faked disinterest.

"Oh, you're good. Not everyone figure it out." Lisa complimented though I was sure she was laying it thick. My powers might have made the silk, but Lisa's abilities to figure out places where we could sell it without trouble and being ripped off was worth just as much. We were here so either the shopkeeper

Whew. Not posted yet, but I've hit my pledge mark and more. I'm adding onto it as we speak, but 1204 words and counting, probably to be posted tonight.

I'm going to just be putting inf or 300 today. Got a bad headache.

I think 1K today... so that's a above and beyond thing?

The cutoff time seems to be about now, and I must regrettably declare that I did not meet my goal, finishing with around 650 words done. On the bright side, that's 650 words more productive than I've been on any of the previous three days, so.

For tomorrow, I'll scale back a bit, as well as coming within the actual tranches of the measurement, and go for 800.

Tanuki will go for another 500 today...

I'm scaling back to a 3k pledge today.

...Not sure if me starting a quest here counts as meeting the pledge, tbh.

472 words done, adding another scene before first scene. Somewhat unhappy with it, doesn't entirely connected. Maybe make it as an interlude? Hmm.
