Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse (RWBY Jaune, WC-lite mechanics)

"Funny thing, they don't seem to have capes here. Or Huntsmen. Which is why we're standing out...a little too much." Face growing red, she pointed a finger.

"It's cosplay"

Ezpz.
I guess neither of them really know much about japan though, given that Remnant doesn't have one and Worm's japan kind of sank.

Knowing well the uphill struggle of persuading an Annoying Blonde otherwise, Jaune rolled his eyes, and dropped a hand on her head to ruffle her hair.

Tattletale stared.

He retracted his hand. "I…didn't mean to do that."

"R-right. Um." Tattletale swallowed.
Judging by the fact that he still has two arms he did not get into hair ruffling habit with Yang so it was probably with one of his many sisters. I don't think Lisa (or rather Sarah) would care being treated like a little sister.

Or maybe Jaune's headpatting skill is maxed out and has her feeling all confused.

I knew it! I knew that Toaru universe will be included! I felt it in my guts!

Is it too much to ask to take one of the Misaka sisters as a new companion? I imagined that if they ever went to the Academcity it would be to save a certain someone whose death was truly heartbreaking. Or leg tearing. You understand what mean.

Goddammit, Tattletale, Jaune was so close to realize Pyrrha's feelings. He almost had the biggest revelation in his life. But she just had to ruin it.

I had to check what happens on September 30th and thats a lot of stuff. How much those two will change I wonder.

Also, Jaune really need some lessons about Earth culture and differences. Considering how much variation of this world there are in the multiverse he will need it.

Thanks for the update.

I'm more looking forward to meeting Trump 10, Kamidze Toma
Actually, the PRT's threat level has nothing to do with the strength of an ability. The PRT's threat level indicates the danger a parahuman represents to a squad of PRT soldiers. Even if it were based on ability strength, Lisa wouldn't think Toma is a Trump 10. Hatchet Face was a power nullifier and brute, yet no one rated him as a Trump 10.

Fun story so far, and it's very nice to see a fic which doesn't immediately sand off all of Tattletale's rough edges. The edgy SI who got killed off at the start was also almost painfully spot-on.

With that said, while I can accept Pyrrha getting cucked (it is her natural state), I absolutely cannot and will not stand for Sundancer getting cucked out of her "totally mid by the standards of out in the sticks, I swear" extrauniversal gaming and dancing partner. I am running on undiluted copium and telling myself she's still endgame because of his promise. If you'd used anyone but one of Worm's two most criminally underutilized Brockton-resident blondes, I'd have forgotten about her by now, but you did so I haven't. (Seriously, Sundancer and Laserdream tend to either not feature in fics, or feature only as an afterthought — a minor part of a package deal like the standard-issue New Wave harem where other characters get the bulk of the focus)

Oh, my. The best part is that she knows he did that purely out of fondness. His completely innocent strength is about to be her undoing, and she's just shown the first sign of cracking.

Of course she is! A minor employee would be nervous doing business in a language she hardly knows, or having to deal with strangely dressed outsiders, or having to make unusual decisions like whether to accept unknown currency; put all three together? Nobody but the actual owner of the shop could possibly accept that transaction. But Jaune's more used to single-owner proprietorships, isn't he?

I love that you can get so much mileage out of the difference between their worlds and the ones they interact with.
It's more than single-owner proprietorship, Jaune doesn't have any idea that such a thing as other languages exist. It's just as foreign as other money to him.

Imagine if they meet Shokuhou, who's a Master: yes.
Bring the brown pants XD
Eh she's master 9 at most, dangerous as hell, but no unlimited range, limited to controlling people, and not as far as I know instantly aware of anything entering her range, she's scary, but she's not even Nilbog level scary much less Simurgh scary.

Thanks for the Chapter!
Jaune, you have seven sisters, don't you know the first thing about interacting with little girls? Never call them childish, especially when they have the ability to absolutely demolish you.
He is a brother indeed.
Also Jaune seems to be gaining new little sisters at a steady rate.
Goddammit, Tattletale, Jaune was so close to realize Pyrrha's feelings. He almost had the biggest revelation in his life. But she just had to ruin it.
She wanted to keep Jaune to herself.

I recently started reading the Hard Luck Hank series and relied on it as a good option for Tattletale and Jaune for a long jump in the future. It's a sci-fi setting but focused on a backwater criminal. This seems like a setting where there's a lot of weird sci-fi stuff they could loot, and it would require a good mix of Tattletales and Jaune's talents. It's also a good read I recommend.
Huh. I somewhat remember reading the first volume of that.

Ah, Jaune-Jaune and Tatts meet with a Biri-Biri. Could this be a new party member? Pfffft, probably not. Still, it's going to be hilarious, especially if the magic users catch on to their presence.
Railgun would demonstrate her displeasure at the separation from a certain boy in short order 😂
Then again, it's more likely that same boy would go to the bathroom and, by unlucky coincidence, trip his way into the portal.

Not her, no.

It'll be her 10,000 remaining sisters.
Second verse, same as the first, only at a fraction of the power. Which is still 50,000 volts 🤣

The language thing is the biggest part of Jaune's confusion, with the completely logical reaction on the employee's part looking a lot more suspicious when the correct and obvious answer was removed from the equation.
Meanwhile, Tattletale cannot fathom an underpaid part-timer who would not shove those gold coins in a pocket then give the pair everything they ask for, the boss be damned.

She knows what she did, and she is not sorry.

If Touma ever goes to Earth Bet, watch he get be unlucky enough to get slapped with the same treatment he got from Academy City. Level 0, ordinary boy.

Thanks for reading!
Do this long enough, and maybe he'd have 10,000 little sisters like Biri-Biri.

Those talking about Pyrrha ought to remember that this Jaune comes from a universe where some edgy contractor was fucking all of the girls.
Jax Darkphenix's thoughts in the story hinted at his intentions, where he's saving Pyrrha for a special occasion.
Because she's not important, not really. It was about humiliating Jaune, and that meant waiting a bit for their bonds to play out until there's a spark of something more.
That way, when he swoops in to add her into his collection on worldwide TV, he can better savor the disappointment and heartbreak of the Gary Stu writer self-insert who didn't deserve to be a character in RWBY.

Jax Darkphenix's thoughts

It is going to be so, so awkward for Jaune when he eventually makes enough credits to actually go back and save the day. I mean, yeah. He saved everyone. Yay. By the way, Jaune, where is Jax? He what. You WHAT? WHAAAAAT.

There are probably three different interactions there to look out for.

Pyrrha: You saved me! ...Who is this sassy blond child?

RWBY: Where's our super duper boyfriend? What do you mean we're brainwashed?

Ozpin: Sips hot chocolate. I beg your unbelievable pardon?

Scratch that. Four.

Tattle: OMG WHY IS EVERYONE SO FUCKING HOT?! JAUNE I THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING WHEN YOU SAID YOU'RE MID?

"That's wild. On Remnant, the idea of robots serving us in our daily lives is straight out of scifi. The best we've managed so far are robot soldiers."

"Excuse me, you have what?"

It became his turn to stare. "I'm getting mixed signals here. You mean, your universe created robots, and the first thing they're used for wasn't to serve as an army?"
At this rate if Remnant ever pops up for a jump Tattletale is going to vote "Hell no!"
Huh. I somewhat remember reading the first volume of that.
It's a really good series. If you need something to listen to while traveling the audible voice actor is really good. At some points in the series the space station is either a hive of scum and villainy or the beacon of galactic culture and trade.
Meanwhile, Tattletale cannot fathom an underpaid part-timer who would not shove those gold coins in a pocket then give the pair everything they ask for, the boss be damned.
No one in this conversation can believe what's going on and it's great.
Store employee: oh no! They don't speak Japanese! Are they pirates? Why are they trying to pay with gold?! Why is he so hot!
Jaune: what witchcraft is this? I've been to 5 different universes and they all spoke English why cant you! Did you kill the real store owner? Are you a mimic in disguise?!
Tattletale: this is a bribe! Why won't you accept it? It's literally more than you make in a month!

At this rate if Remnant ever pops up for a jump Tattletale is going to vote "Hell no!"

To be fair, that is an entirely understandable response. Put aside the anime filter and consider the following.

Remnant is a world beset by an endless tide of shadow monsters that hate humanity and all its works. They do not feel fear. They do not feel pain or hunger, do not tire and reproduce through an unknown, seemingly limitless manner that no amount of culling is able to stem. They are strong enough to tear through stone walls if left unimpeded, if not simply climb over, and tough enough that conventional weapons only hurt the least of them. The bigger and older ones requiring anti-vehicle ordnance or superhuman combatants to inflict massive trauma.

Would you, being an entirely squishy, not particularly athletic person with no cheat durability or magic kung fu, wish to go to such a place? I sure as heck wouldn't.

Well, lets hope that the overseer of the city won't have anything to say about the sudden and likely unexpected intrusion.

And Jaune really is a big brother figure for girls in many universes, isn't he? I wonder if they'll come back in time for Dishonored 2 (or whatever replaces those events) for him to see Emily all grown up.

Amusingly, both Jaune and Tattletale would likely be welcomed to Project Moon verse with open arms: 100% human people with suitably money-motivated mindset to be good at working as Fixers. I imagine the Head has some sort of deal going with the Company, since otherwise they'd likely not appreciate (potentially alien) people dropping in on their turf.

@LazyAutumnMoon, thanks for the chapter. Updated on my bd so that was a nice surprise. Anyways loving the pace and the adventure. Jaune discovering that yes, foreign languages are a thing, as are other cultures lol. And seducing Lisa in his wholesome, Labrador, shonenesque ways.

Looking forward to how this story plays out!

Otherwise merry Christmas and hope you enjoy your break!!!

Another funny thing that Jaune should get confused about is the concept of straight people.

Jaune: What do you mean, there are people who like only people of opposite gender? It doesn't make sense. Why love only one thing when you can love both?

Tattletale: Wait, didn't you say that your sister is a lesbian?

Jaune: Yes, what about it?

Tattletale: So you have lesbians, gays and bisexual but not straight people?

Jaune: We have lesbians, gays and normal people. What the hell is bisexual?

Tattletale: But... then why... You know what? Whatever.

Sorry if it offended anyone. I just remembered how I read about Miles Luna confirming Jaune being bisexual.

Normal people... damn, well Jaune grew up in the countryside... :V
I just don't know how to joke about Remnant having mostly bisexual and being straight is not a thing there. Or would it be better to say that they don't have devision based on sexual orientation at all?
