Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse (RWBY Jaune, WC-lite mechanics)

Genuine question?

They're Worm's illuminati created to battle the last boss of the universe by any means nescessary

and they are terrible at it

it is canonical that they cause more problems then fix

their Hubris makes Zues look reasonable

they accidently unleased/made the Endbringers , dont know they did it.

the Triumverate are part of Cauldron and Alexandria has a secret identity of the PRT chief, which is illegal.

btw dont know if ya know, but Armsmaster rigged things(canon timeline) to get villains (Skitter included) killed by Levi just to have his 1v1.

I suppose you could handwave this by having the Outsider sense the party's potential imminent death and quickly give them temporary thinker immunity. It's kind of an ass pull, but otherwise, Contessa is going to detect them the second they walk through the portal. Just having Jaune immune to thinkers isn't enough because Path to Victory will just basically predict the other two member's actions, discover everything they know about the Company, and just drop Alexandria on Jaune. Being immune to thinkers doesn't mean you are immune to people of mass destruction. Also, full disclosure, the Triumvirate are all a part of Cauldron.

On the positive side, Cauldron does not become relevant to the Worm story until much later, so as long as you keep Contessa from noticing this trip, you can save worrying about Cauldron until much later.
I would just rule they aren't negatively impacting the path, granting Aura would be positive to most of Contessas paths, and Worm canon is not in fact one of Contessas paths, she can't do that kind of long term path, there's too many blindspots around for that, and Taylor becoming the savior of the multiverse happen in large part due to those blindspots, so Contessa likely just never get a message about the 3 of them, because it's not in fact part of any of her current paths.

That is a tempting answer, but Path to Victory would definitely see the potential of the Company store. Aura to everyone would be a massive boost to humanity's chances, but a literal instant-kill magic spell would guarantee it.

Genuine question?

They're Worm's illuminati created to battle the last boss of the universe by any means nescessary They are composed of some of the most powerful parahumans in the story, Contessa is one of their members and her power is Path of Victory, which creates 'paths' for her to achieve any objective as long as she follow its steps to the letter, there's a joke that if you go into the setting without thinker protection you'd get a bullet to the head by Contessa because the 'paths' she constantly had on would feel the disturbances the SI character would create and would create 'steps' to deal with it, even if Contessa didn't know anything about it (She can automate her body to follow the steps her power gives)
and they are terrible at it

it is canonical that they cause more problems then fix

And ofcourse, thing slike the whole Case 53 experiments. Then Cauldron/Contessa make a surprise piakchu face when the 53s didnt go unite and fight for humanity, but instead decide to "burn the village" by go hunting down Cauldron and destroying PRT/infrastructures, including Weld that turned rogue after the revealation.

because who the fuck want to fight and die for shitty world that treat them horribly, and something something a child that abandonned by village will set the village on fire to feel warmth something.

and ofcourse the other "HARD MAN MAKE HARD DECISION, WHILE HARD " stuff that its almost look like a parody meant to criticized the 'hard men make hard decision' tropes, but no, Wildbow intend and absolutely believe in it.

Its says a lot that Cerberus from Mass Effect would be much more reliable and getting more result than Cauldron.

You mean the Company Phone that was putting Tattletale into Naptime every time she squinted at it too hard?

Even if Jaune himself keeps Blank off, that phone is locked up tight, Contessa isn't getting SHIT.

True, I've been thinking under the assumption that while the phone is immune to thinkers, knowledge in someone's head that the phone exists isn't. But on second thought, the Company probably already has contingencies in place for that. I always that Jaune needed thinker immunity to keep precogs from stealing access to Company resources from him, but it could have just been to keep the Simurgh from rendering all Contractors' efforts useless.

As my Username suggests, I know a thing or two about cats, here are some of the top points; (1) Cats absolutely have souls. (2) Cats can be absolute assholes, you can see the scheming going on in their brains and then watch as they look directly at you as they tap things (usually fragile things) off of counters and shelves after you told them not to. (3)They view us two-legs as their servants. (4) They relish the pain, misery and chaos they inflict on their servants
Escha should definitely get Aura.

Escha is not a cat, she's a Palico. You can tell this by how she is helpful.

Also I believe Jaune did give her Aura already

"Alright. Guess that's that. I give up. Escha can come with us."

A cheer went up among the monster Hunters, and he had to smile at just how honest and happy it was. Lifting his head, he continued to speak.

"The rest of you, get over here. I've got a present for all of you, too. A little thing called Aura."

...See below for the joke. Once again, I am facepalming.
Can't believe you made this fanfic with a worm main character, Worm arcs and talked about a lot of events in worm by only having read stepping on worm, woah....

Also, everyone should read stepping on worm. Not because it's good but so that I have company in my suffering

Okay now, shit posting out of the way.

I'm rooting for a Lisa to Lisa thinker power feedback loop that sends canon Lisa into a coma.
Or
Alternatively
Lisa to Lisa thinker power loop that ends with both Lisa's hating each others guts and at each others throats

I am facepalming right now.

They're pretty much supposed to be competent, but written somewhat incompetent, because Wildbow has a burning hatred for authority figures, maps, economy and anything that isn't grimderp fuck you deconstructions.

But the fact that America, Europe and Asia have semi stable national structures by the time of worm canon is also thanks to their efforts. Normal parahuman distribution is selected specifically to create the collapse of all nationstates inside the space of a generation to maximize the amount of conflict and data generated.

Basically the space whales want Mad Max ASAP, and they are extremely good at getting it over the countless civilizations they've practiced it on.

That being said, it's important to remember that Cauldrons core leadership is formed from

x1 Iron age tween
x1 College age student (unpowered)
x1 Tween mass murderer, groomed by another mass murderer.

The other members (they had 4, but got whittled to 3) don't count because they're not really calling the shots at the upper level.

Now, to be fair, the College age student, who goes by Doctor Mother (for some inane reason), did suggest calling in some actual professionals and national leaders to deal with the multiverse ending threat (Space Whales kill every iteration of the civilization they parasitisize in one go at the end of the harvest, in this case meaning every version of Earth in the multiverse). The iron age tween, who has PTV, said no because the more people who knew about the threat, the more likely the Space Whales figure it out and just torch the experiment right now.

This leads to a situation where you have wholly unqualified people, one who has the cheat superpower, trying to save all of reality almost entirely on their lonesome.

It's very stressful.

To be fair to those who didn't realize you were joking (me included),

We *have* had authors write worm fanfic without ever having read worm before, in the past.

As for those who didn't get it after you already mentioned that was a joke on your part...

Decent odds just skipped right past your post :V

Also, the said "Doctor Mother" is neither a mother(as in like, even Carol had more empathy and better mom), nor a doctor.

Also didnt know she was college kid, which honestly not really help on how she is viewed by readers. Seems most likely being a college dropout.

I believe she is a dropout. She never finished schooling when she got portal napped during Eden's faceplanting and all those portals went everywhere.

I dont think its reasonable to blame them for the endbringers, cause how the fuck would one predict something like THAT.

Oh noooo, they put a parahuman in chargeeee, thats illegaaaal....

My guy, they have done worse shit than that, and she does the job well enough.

Cauldron get called incompetent and I feel its kinda unfair, the guys are literally fighting against GOD and they dont know how their freakin tools work, they have to fucking pray for whatever they do to work, and have to rely a lot on the agents that want them dead.

Doesnt help that Ziz is constantly working against their efforts.

They are literally a group of VERY desperate people, trying everything they can to keep humanity alive.

Can I suggest a world to visit? Just for 1 chapter it would probably be perfect. Kamidori Alchime Meister is a pretty funny setting where you can either turn it to the NSFW side by offering free sex or leave everything sterile and romantic. And so a great place to introduce the diversity of universes on a living example, after all there is at least 1 elf, 1 angel (or many angels), 1 demon of the succubus subspecies (or several of them) and a variety of monsters of various stripes. Also quite a profitable place if you deal with the main character and have some currency to buy and improve the sword if you have time. Of course, it is problematic to do robbery there, although it is possible, and Tattletale will be an additional experience with communication with too attractive ladies and fantasy races. Although this will be a problem in writing given that this is a JRPG.

Yes they are desperate, but that does not absoved them from their own incompetence, questionable decisions and actions that are being "hard men making hard decision", and so on...

Theres being desperate, and then theres even Cobra and Cerberus were more humane and pragmatic, and could actually deliver a better results

That's a fair explanation.

Can you imagine? Cut it off right here, go radio silent XD

And I would personally see such a skill as improving the mechanical aspect of the process. The quality, the thinking part, is something that depends on the person to accomplish. Otherwise, what need would there be for schools and books in that sort of world? Just send the scholars and writers out to the front lines to gather EXP, then pick up the masterpieces to publish afterward.
lol don't.

That's reasonable. Tho with quality I wasn't talking about how good of a story she could write just if she would need to go back and edit. Stuff like not needing to correct incorrect words, bad grammar, or poor sentences structure because the skill helped prevent that. Tho I guess those could be unique skills latter on, like [Sence confusing sentence] or [Copy Text] or [Editing] (that doesn't help edit a text just lets the scholar edit text if any document, predict for changing documents written by hand and with quill and ink).
Alternatively she's a Scholar not a Writer. So just basic [Improved Hand Writing] would be all they need with most skill points going to skills that could synergies with that large intelligence stat.

I also came up with a Meta strategy for the Kinasuba Adventure Card. Feed it to SCP 914 set to Very Fine and hope that whatever comes out isn't sentient.

Oh sure, they didnt do a perfect job, but considering everything? They did probably better than anyone else in the setting could.

A lot of stuff they did can be easily justified by the fact that humanity in every earth possible was at risk of dying. They did do some dumb stuff like with gray boy, but these guys arent perfect, most of them were just regular people that got told to kill god or die.

Literally any of us would have done a much worse job than them (with no meta knowledge ofcourse)

Also, everyone should read stepping on worm. Not because it's good but so that I have company in my suffering
No thanks. I read 'Partially Kissed Hero' and 'Chuunin Exam Day' back when I first started reading fanfics when I was a teen. I knew those were utterly shit stroies even then.

just want to say that reading this story, from the beginning to now was a wonderful experience, from how believable was everything, the characters's behaviours, the pacing and battles, it made me love this story, this might be as well the best fanfic I've read in 2 years. every time u update makes me excited (even though you pulled an cliffhanger) I genuinely want to thank you for this amazing story, I also read your other stories and they don't fail to surpass my expectations, Yakuza Arc? Funny asf, The Agent? Glorious, And Honey Starbright? Incredible, everything u have written is simply amazing, you are a fresh breath, thank you for giving us such wonderful experiences, thank you

Can I make an offer?
Send the gang to One Piece, my boy Jayne, will need armament haki, Lisa need observation haki and the best girl Asha can get the devil's fruit!
You can push them into the Fishmen Island Arch or the Dress Rose Arch.

I don't think they'll be there for the years it'll take to develop Haki but there's likely a devil fruit or 12 hanging around the shop... given how hard those things are to find unless you're in the perfect place and time it'd probably just be better to buy one.

Man you could likely buy a couple fruits from the shop them sell them for a small fortune in one piece. And then don't stick around for the issues having duplicate fruits would cause

Yes, I know that it takes years to learn Haki, but even the basics of this technique can give a great advantage. As for the devil's fruit, given the constant chaos and confusion in One Piece, it seems to me that after almost every battle you can find one or two fruits within the battlefield. But to be honest, I just like the idea of going on a real sea adventure, plus the gang will be quite funny to look at in pirate costumes.
Upd.
I mean, come on, what a child who grew up at the beginning of the century, with all the new media about pirates, would not want to go on a real pirate adventure. At least in childhood. And the world of One Piece can have a pretty good loot.

So, question, wouldn't someone like Jaune react to that universe like.
Marines: all good guys, allies.
Pirates: all bad guys, kill on sight.

From what I understand there aren't any good bandit on Remnant and pirates are just bandits of the sea.

Knowing our crew's luck the next place they end up in is Subnautica, to really hammer home that Leviathan trauma.
I'm sure glorified-custodian-turned-sole-ship-crash-survivor Ryley Robinson would be willing to help them out if he's conveniently around. So long as they don't contract the Kharaa disease they should be set lol

Well, yes, as it should be in a good One Piece scenario, first everyone fights against everyone, and then they divide into two teams and start solving problems. A little bit of fighting chaos hasn't hurt anyone yet. Lisa, by the way, would also notice pirates with a code of honour and corrupt/crazy marines.
