Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse (RWBY Jaune, WC-lite mechanics)

Tattletale's powers are going to be crazy effective in the nasuverse as most of the power/mage craft/magic is based off of mystery. Im curious to see how things would go if they landed in singularity F at the start of the holy Grail war, would there be one or two holy grails? Also it might be a place to get another party member as a survivor of a timeline about to be pruned

Mystery is a societal thing, so just her understanding how it works wouldn't break it.

Now, if she picks up Soul Talent (or maybe magic talent? Can't remember which), she could LEARN it, and she would rapidly grow in power.

Hmmm, who would be the best Singularity F recruit. The summons in Fuyuki Singularity are Herakles Berserker, Caster Cu, Medusa Lancer, EMIYA Archer, Cursed Arm Assassin, Rider Benkei for some reason, and Artoria Saber, except it's implied that she is then used as a catalyst to summon Artoria Alter, who is not Blackened Artoria but instead the King of Tyrants from another timeline.

Of the 6 other than the king of tyrants, EMIYA feels like the easiest recruit of heroic spirits, since he wants to escape Alaya. Going to humans, Ilya might be interesting, if they arrive in time for the Artoria Alter vs Herakles fight, and Herakles knows he's gonna lose so he tosses Ilya to Jaune.

Didn't the humans get incinerated due Goetia's spell?

They are working with a very limited space so adding more (corporeal) party member really wouldn't work.
Expanding the interdimensional shoebox they stay in between away missions is likely possible but they have better things to spend points on and are still deep in debt.

No, the spell doesn't effect the inside of singularities. The humans were alive until Saber Blackened the city with curses, at which point they became the skeletons (or joined Medusa's statue garden earlier).
There's one still living "human" there - in flesh if not in spirit.
Angry Mango is wearing an Emiya Shirou brand meatsuit.
He can (and does) sneak into Chaldea after Ritsuka & co are done with Singularity F.

When was this stated? I played the game and i don't remember that. Does it happen in an event or interlude?

I think it happenes only if you pull Angry Mango as a Servant. The backstory is that he apparently snuck into Chaldea from Singularity F.

But don't take my word on it. This is from a discussion from one of ieam's Fate quests on fiction.live

If it's at the start of the singularity wouldn't rin, taiga or kuzuki be able to be recruited (Sakura needs to be saved for sure and seeing rin, Lisa and juane pulling a rusted knight would be pretty cool)

As a JoJo fan, the idea of lil' miss Spoilers that Nobody Asked For causes me great pain, but wouldn't Jojo's Bizzarre Adventure be a great setting to show up on? Great for Lisa, anyways, but if they can find (and or steal) the Stand Arrow that would be pretty cool and they do not, strictly speaking, need to keep the arrow after using it.

Alternative, some fake (or better yet, Company-backed and back-dated) medical practicioner papers, some normal clothes and a labcoat could be fun to have in House, M.D. Just drop her off at Princeton-Plainsboro and watch her be the daughter Greg never wanted to have, yet the one he deserved.

Now, the question is, though... where's Jaune? Is he relaxing and decompressing in a mostly safe world, being just the Lisa's surfer-bro boyfriend? Is he taking a different mission, accompanying a different Doctor? And if so, Who?

They need to be sent to the Warhammer 40k setting, and urgently there are hungry demons, and here are two appetizing souls with a backlit pointer, like from a thermonuclear reactor and a sound bait "we are here". All the demons of the galaxy, from the gods of chaos to a small demon, will be shocked - ordinary people hide from the gaze of demons, and these two Assholes attract attention to themselves (and this is how it should be in any fantasy setting). Since the aura is not a super shield with superpowers, but a soul on display that demands its price for use, for example, a shortened life span. About making a Sneak a magician - Dark Souls (elden rings) is ideal for this, since magicians there use souls for spells (miracles - if a cleric).
In other fandoms, this should be more difficult due to differences in the energy of the world and the approach to the manifestation of abilities (we recall super strong characters from any authors with different gamer systems who understand any magic and abilities in a couple of seconds and apply them at any moment). The author just showed that with the blessing of the god of Dishonored, Jon was able to use magic and amulets.
Yes, it's worth sending to cannon RWBY in season 9, I want to look at Jon's attitude to the RWBY team. Especially after Jon gets his memories and the company's phone gets information about all four of them.
- The RWBY - 1 team) They are the smartest and know what to do. 2) The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. 3) They are not the reason for the destruction of humanity's last hope (sarcasm).

Dark souls, this is a very gloomy world, it is full of pain and injustice, but this chapter makes you feel warm inside you, Praise the Sun!
Happy you enjoyed it 😁

Doesn't he still have that dragon sword on him?
What they did with the channeler trident exemplifies how they're handling loot they don't see a need for at a given moment: squirrel them away in safe places along the route back to the portal.

Bit of an abrupt ending to the Dark Soul dive, but very nice nonetheless.

Now I want to see them in DS 3, but Andre remembers them.
Thanks for reading!
I do very much enjoy the dark souls games, sooo...

I was upset that you were making the poor fox sad, but since you've used this as fuel for the ship and future smugs all is forgiven.
🤣
A Tattletale earnestly doing her best but failing and now needs headpats was too interesting a scene to pass on writing.

Harry Potter would be fun for Tattletale hijinks as well I'd think.
I have plans for this setting. Big plans. But later.

Something like Sherlock Holmes or any detective story would be the easy answer...
Ding ding ding. That's on the 'definitely writing' list, too.

....That doesnt sound like arkos?
......THAT DOESNT SOUND LIKE ARKOS AT ALL!!!
A sad day, isn't it? 😔
In hindsight, stuffing her crush into a locker after kissing him must surely be a bad idea. It's a very mixed message. One might get the impression that it was a ruse from start to finish.

I have to admit, I love the idea of Lisa putting on a whole bunch of disguises in different settings, just so she could act smart and wow people. Jaune can certainly provide some insight into the matter, fraudster that he is.
Nice word play 😆
Hmmm...Weeping Angels...

They really need Inventory.
Or a bag of holding at least (those are easier to acquire).
Did you decide on the next setting?

A thought, but couldn't Tattletale use a crossbow if need be? Having aura does enhance you so she could at least pull it to reload.

There were a lot of crossbows along the way they went, that's why I was curious.

And these two do need a semi-reliable ranged option pretty badly.

Dr Who?

It was very nice to read. It also provided an interesting example of Jaune's view of his world and how he interacts with others. Tattletale can almost understand it with Worms' game of Cops and Robers, which pauses for Endbringers, but Remnant has stewed in that mindset for a couple more thousand years.

I have plans for this setting. Big plans. But later.

That is something Jaune would think, especially while under WC's mind control. Harry Potter is a setting you need a little more oomph behind you, or you'll be Mastered/turned into a hamster.
I also just got into the Sherlock fandom over the last two weeks, and it would be an interesting story. I think if Sherlock learned that his Universe's name is literally Sherlock Holmes, it would boost his ego way too much. Would Blank work on Sherlock? He doesn't have power; he's just really smart.

As a side note, has anyone else read Mother of Learning? I'm not sure they would have a lot to learn there; the magic requires years to even use, let alone master. Theoretically, they could learn a bit more Soul Awareness from Quatach-Ichl, a thousand-year-old Lich king and an undisputed master of soul arts. They definitely wouldn't be able to do any necromantic spells, but maybe they could learn how to protect their souls from those sorts of attacks.

It's hilarious because it means that the invincible girl can only be beaten by herself. The fact that she uses a shield and spear makes the analogy funnier.

Though my biggest question is, didn't the original WC client guy seduced all the RWBY girls or something?

Jaune getting a crush on Yang made me confused.

Boy, there sure is a lot to unpack here. But hey, why not?

1. The Dynamic Duo vs 40k. I have said it time and time again: someone that is trained to use their soul as a shield is going to be more resistant against the daemonic and the corruptive, not less than the average sap. They'll prolly draw more attention, yeah, but by the time they feel ready to pick a world that dangerous they'll be ready for it.

In 40k in particular, daemons aren't real, they're malevolent ideas, stories given form by the thoughts and emotions of the people in that galaxy. They're narratives, incapable of going against their natures. And every narrative in 40k is shaped by the strength of will of those participating in them. You don't beat a daemon by having more muscles than it or a bigger gun or by feeding its narrative, you might as well be boxing your own shadow for all the good that'll do. Instead, you beat a daemon by having more weight in the narrative/Warp; being more of a protagonist than it.

To give an example, Joe Guardsman shooting a daemon with a lasgun isn't worth shit because he isn't worth shit, mass-produced fodder shooting a mass-produced rifle with no story, no legend, nothing in the narrative that says he matters, an extra meant to die in droves to set the tone.

Contrast that with Jaune Arc. The Fool. The Hero. The Knight. The protector of the weak, the disciple of heroes, the shield raised against evil, wielding an ancient sword passed down a line of warriors, girded by the brilliant light of his soul... That kind of character has some serious weight in the narrative. And that's not even getting into the strength of his willpower. In canon, when Jaune and his team were storming the fortress-whale of the big bad, a man who can see people's emotions looked at him, and saw absolutely no fear in him. Almost two years of suffering and toil, and he stood unbowed. Then he spent over two decades in a fairy tale world with no one for company but some suicidal starfish and a giant jackalope, and he didn't break. Cracked, yes, but never broke. Jaune Arc, once properly seasoned, is nothing if he is not willpower incarnate.

The path this Jaune will take in his development is going to be different from canon, but the two are cut from the same cloth. Too dumb to feel fear, not when it would stop them from saving lives.

2. I don't know how to put this gently, so I won't try: you have huffed too much Ironwood propaganda, and you need to stop and go touch some grass.

2.1.: The only reason a handful of plucky teenagers with attitude are having to shoulder the burden of trying to save the world is because EVERYONE they were supposed to be able to rely on, for one reason or another, failed them. Ozpin? A deeply depressed paranoiac with no ultimate plan for victory beyond an endless holding action. Qrow? A hopeless alcoholic who only started clawing his way out of a bottle after his nieces nearly died due to his negligence. Lionheart? A coward, a traitor, and a murderer who sent his students to their deaths to save his own skin. Ironwood? A PTSD'd and stressed the fuck out authoritarian with trust subscriptions, who swan-dived headfirst into insanity and heartlessness the moment the going got tough.

Given all of that? No fucking wonder things are bleak. Children inheriting a war and a broken world fucked over by those flawed adults that came before them.

2.2.: We can play the blame game for who was responsible for the fall of Atlas all we like (it was Ironwood, Salem, and Cinder; Ruby keeping secrets from Ironwood has no bearing on his piss-poor response to crises, fight me), but the fact of the matter remains that while Atlas was destroyed, the plan the heroes put together saved the people of Atlas and Mantle, and delivered them to the only place on Remnant with an intact army of Huntsmen to defend the refugees from the ensuing misery-induced Grimm swarm.

2.3.: While I'm sure James thought he was Atlas, the titan holding up the sky and savior of the world, he was the furthest thing from it. All it took for him to throw away everything good he had done up to that point was the sight of a single fucking chess piece, and that rattled him so badly he sent off his right hand woman to murder a senile old lady and move to stop the evacuation of Mantle on the flimsiest of suspicions that there might be more infiltrators among the masses. When all of his countermeasures and safeguards had already failed to do anything to stop Salem's most powerful agent from waltzing into his damn office. By the end, despite his good intentions, James Ironwood ended up turning himself into a heartless monster, willing to leave to die and then kill half of his kingdom, because he was too afraid to try to do the right thing.

So you want to know how Sneaking Jaune would react to Canon RWBY? He'd want to help them. Because that's who he is. A hero with a heart of gold. Not some vindictive hatedom insert going 'take that, you pathetic loser bitches, you shoulda licked dictator boots more, you get what you deserve, nyehhh!!!'

I don't want to upset you, but what can 1 average trained knight (Jaune) and 2 average statistical man (Tattletale) do, even being trained and armed. Will they be able to resist, like the Legions of Chaos (space marines) and the dark Eldar? To be subjected to daily torture in a dream and reality (June's survival in season 9 will seem like a walk through a clean clover field) when you do not understand where the enemy is and where the ally is. What is real and what is not. Jaune may stand for quite a long time, but Tattletale will either turn on the mythical armor (girlspower - failed films and games of 2024 will not let you lie) and at the behest of the author (and the almighty catalog is an excuse for all authors who buy or receive cheats and then no one is afraid of them) or will die much earlier.
But in WH40k, you will have to resist not only the dark side, but also the light side, since they do not believe in the god of the emperor, they do not belong to the cult of the omnissiah (too much flesh, not metal), demons swarm around them in circles, which means who are they? That's right - they are heretics and demon worshippers, and such truly law-abiding children of the EMPEROR have only one conversation - a head off their shoulders or a rain of metal (or a laser). You will not be able to sleep or eat, which means that for survival, you will escape from there as soon as possible.
As for Ironwood and exposing him as a villain, he had a plan to gather as many people as possible (who can be saved, but a small part of the people will have to be sacrificed - unfortunately, all cannot be saved - this is the law of the trolleybus) and evacuate. But problem-solving specialists (the RWBY team) came, and now, instead of a large number of people whom Ironwood wanted to evacuate, we get a very small proportion of the total number of survivors. After all, it can't be that the actual ruler of the country (Ironwood, who led the country for a very long time) was a fool and couldn't do anything, and the only ones who could save everyone were 4 girls who didn't even live in this country? Weiss lived for 16-18 years - Weiss or 40-50+ years of Ironwood, which of them knows their country and its possibilities more? Regarding Ironwood's madness, the authors deliberately made the general crazy. No one has a good rescue plan except the RWBY team, but we know how their plan ended - almost the entire population left for the afterlife, with Jaune and Neopolitan, where RWBY will later come and break everything that Jaune has been protecting for several centuries.

Regarding Ironwood's madness, the authors deliberately made the general crazy.
Don't mind me, you guys go on ahead. The different viewpoints are interesting, especially the narrative vs realist takes.
But on that one point above?
If someone is going to excuse the flaws of their most favorite character as bad writing by the show's writers, then it's also fair practice to excuse the flaws of their most hated character(s) as bad writing by the show's writers. Let's not cherry-pick using the same logic.

In Ironwood case it isn't a character flaw like TT having issues with keeping her mouth shut. It's the writers built up a good character that already had flaws but because they wanted to get from point A to B or push a message they flipped the character without any IC reason for the change. Then on a pod cast dropped it was his semblance that did it.

Edit: My theory is they wanted RWBY to be in the right or they were pushing a military is wrong message so Irinwood has to be crazy or they're not justified. He was very reasonable in wanting to evacuate who he could. Not like he knew Oscar coukd save the day. It's also not like he had the arena finished built (considering Robin Hill was stealing dust and Yang let her go). If not for Dues Ex Machnia RWBY would have gotten the whole country killed objectively.

Thats the difference they butchered his character on purpose.

A pretty good take. What's your opinion on Team RWBY in the same volume?

If I remember right Warhammer had a danger ratting of 10/10, considering Leviathan and Racoon city both rate a 4/10, I'd put that as extremely late game content. The thing is, both TT and JA are smart enough to realize that +4 rateings are firmly out of reach, for now. If they were to ever go to Warhamer it would only be after getting enough powers/upgrades that it's feasible. Jaune can already go there without any of the gods noticing thanks to blank. Who now a what they can do in a couple years of this job.

A pretty good take. What's your opinion on Team RWBY in the same volume?
They're awful people which the narrative props up as doing the right thing. They're problems come from not showing but telling. So while not deliberate like Ironwood where his turn tool a season transition they're journey took several seasons to amplify they're worse traits.

For example pre season 3 Blake is a coward that runs away from her issues. That was a good character flaw but it became her entire character post season 3 until Yang saves her. They weren't assassinated like Ironwood and if the narrative treated their flaws as actual flaws and didn't sweep them under the rug they could have been good writing.

Ironwood was also consistent with his pre season 3 even tho they were trying to frame him as the bad guy the entire season. That was until they panicked and realized he was reasonable if they continued that and made him crazy the next season.

So thinking about it isn't the entire fault of bad writing but consistent writing. How they treat different characters. They had the perfect setup for Jaune due to PTSD in the Ever after but gave the storyline to Ruby, someone who hasn't built up to it.

I wonder how they'd do in Project Moon. I can't be the only one who wants to see the EGOs of the blonde duo.

Plus, they could take Don Quixote with them onto an adventure like no other :D

They're awful people which the narrative props up as doing the right thing.
...Sorry, but this is where you lost me.
In your take of Ironwood, you presented an overall positive view of him, with his worst parts in the show being the fault of the writers. Here, you immediately jumped to team RWBY being awful in and of themselves, with the writers being incidental to their worst parts rather than a cause of them.
Again, if we are to assign blame for how our favored characters turned out on an external factor, then we should also see if that external factor had a hand in how our disliked characters turned out. In short, in this situation I would say that neither Ironwood nor team RWBY are as bad as some would believe.
