I think Gendo has ADD, judging by the attempt to fulfil the plan and failing.
Also, the looper in Evaverse is probably somebody who caused/controlled third impact. Current most likely canditate: Rei. IC, no other pilot could influence Gendo to become #1 dad.

Right, so you need to have your son bond with all of the pilots. . . pity not all of them are here yet, since you're pretty sure that, thanks to a few hours of politicking (and sabotage) on behalf of your agents shifted the selection criteria such that none of the other pilots are anything but attractive girls physically your son's age.
For a moment you're lost in thought contemplating all of the meanings of the word 'bonds', and how they relate to your relations with the former Doctor Akagi, the mother of the one you've got now, the bottle blonde.
You've seen the way Ritsuko Akagi's been looking at you, and you're sure you could charm your way past her professional bluster with sheer force of personality. That said, Unit 01 should be capable of independent movement in a dire situation, and the core of the third angel has probably been converted into a compatible S2 engine inside it now. . .
