Theo Anders and the Black Exaltation[Worm/Exalted][Hiatus]

Carol, Mark and Amy are all very messed up, but the Pelham family are (in their limited screen time) portrayed as being fairly normal, and Vicky's biggest problem is anger management. There's no inherent reason why any of those shouldn't be valid targets/harem members.

I'm not particularly interested in Sarah or Carol, because NTR is bleah. But Vicky, Crystal and possibly Amy would be fun.
 
Only the non-Vicky Dallons and besides they're all very attractive (plus we have that crush on Crystal and possibly Amy as well)

And seeing Amy flounder while trying to get us to notice her sounds hilarious

The Dallons
Mark is a semi-functional depressed man, who requires medication.
Carol is neurotic and has trust issues.
Vicky is, in Theo's words, a harpy, also vainglorious.
Amy is stupidly stressed out by the workload she puts herself under and is addicted to Vicky.

The Pelhams
Neil has no known issues before his death.
Sarah is oddly happily married, and if she has issues, they don't show up before her canon death.
Crystal, no known issues... didn't really show up in Worm.
Eric died before issues showed up.

Fleur died before series.
Lightstar left New Wave before series.

Death is inevitable. That which lives dies, that which exists ends. This is something that is instinctively known by all creatures. They might struggle to prolong their existence, to seek immortality futilely, to eke out another day, another moment. They might even succeed to a degree, but such a focus on the end means that they are drawn all the much sooner to it.

This charm allows the abyssal to infect that same horrifying attraction that death has, it imprints an impression of his essence into their souls, that they might draw themselves closer to him even as they discard what was once precious to them.

This charm allows an abyssal to convert a positive intimacy of those he interacts with into a negative intimacy, and as a side effect, gain a positive intimacy for the abyssal or a social group that he designates. The Unnatural Mental Influence tainting of the positive intimacy into a negative intimacy can be negated by spending 3 willpower while interacting with the abyssal during the scene.

The positive intimacy goes away if in the next season, the victim does not interact with the abyssal in a positive manner, or if the victim spends 3 willpower all at once to resist the Unnatural Mental Influence of this charm.

The victim may remove their negative intimacy afterwards as normal.

The musician plays his instrument with a steady hand, coaxing music from it. One to delight the ears and minds of those who listens.

A virtuoso does not play his instrument. He is the instrument, he made sweet and tender love to the song he plays. He seduces those who listen, showing his love for music to all who would listen. They are moved to tears by the emotion within the music.

Alec Delacour made sensual love to the song that he played on his violin. The name he bore wasn't his by birth, the violin he played wasn't his, but the music that he played, that was his. The emotions in it was his, magnified and given a fullness that he almost never felt.

A simple serious of vibrations of strings, amplified to echo in the hall as the well to do danced and spoke to each other. They were the new nobles and elites of the city, their wealth parlaying into power even if they lacked the nobility and traditions of the nobles and royalty of yesteryear.

The song he played was what some would call classical. He didn't, to him... music was music was music. Genre was but the bindings wielded by those who didn't know this simple facet.

Certainly, the old man hadn't seen the point of learning how to play music, even if he had seen the hows of it and allowed it because it was a useful way of learning new skills. After all, Alec could control people and puppeteer their bodies, and that was all people saw of his power. They never considered that to be able to affect something, one had to be able to sense something else.

And he did.

Everything that those he hijacked felt, he felt.

Everything that they did, he did.

And what is practice but the art of repeating something over and over? So that it was engraved in the muscle memories of one's body?

And so, he learned how to play music.

Learned how to force music from one's instruments, first with the body of a simple musician. Then with his own body.

Learned how to coax the music from within himself. How to love and be loved in return by the music. To allow his faint, muted emotions, to sing, to dance in his music.

To live.

To truly live.

And he flew away from the grasp of his father, because in order to live, one needed to be free. That was something that the old man never really did understand. Or rather he understood, but didn't care.

And so, Alec flew the coop.

He traveled from city to city, his violin paying for his way as a simple busker. As Alec Delacour. Not as Jean-Paul Vasil. Not as the villain Hijack. Just a simple musician whose music spoke more than he could.

And so, he made sweet and tender love to his music, his instrument merely the conduit of his love. And those who heard him could hear that love. Could feel the joy in his song. The name he bore wasn't his by birth, the violin he played wasn't his, but the music that he played, that was his.

And that was enough for now.

I really like the concept here, that an Abyssal spreads the chill of the grave to those he interacts with, and those so touched cling to him like dying sailors. It nicely captures the dual terror and comfort that the Deathknights can bring. The basic effect is similar to a combined version of the low essence effects of Broken Heart Triumph and it's mirror, You Can Be More. Reasonable, except that this charm is cheaper, harder to resist, and more flexible. It probably shouldn't be strictly superior. I would also suggest that the nature of the two intimacies should not be completely up to the Abyssal, but rather follow directly from the thematics of the charm. Finally, what level of interaction is necessary to trigger the effect? A glance? A brief speech? Detailed personal interaction that involves the intimacy being corrupted?

I do have two concerns. First, this is too cheap for a scene-long effect. As mentioned earlier, Broken Heart Triumph is 5m, 1wp for an instant effect. Irresistible Succubus Style is 10m, 1wp for an instant effect that will hit everyone present, and is also Obvious. The cost should be somewhere between these, probably towards the upper end. It won't hit as many as the latter, but it is more subtle and flexible.

Second, it doesn't seem to allow any kind of defense beyond spending a substantial amount of willpower. This can be done, but is generally a bad idea for such a powerful effect. It doesn't have to be MDV, but it should be something. Consider Know the Souls Price, which can't be resisted, but does require giving them their heart's true desire, or charms that make the defender roll against a fixed target. As a Socialize charm, rather than a Presence one, I'd be tempted to have it trigger off a series of successful arguments or especially counter arguments(Parry MDV) directly involving the intimacy to be weakened. That would actually justify a lower cost for the charm, as it would be much harder to trigger. Or it could be a permanent charm with a small cost to activate.

It's relatively easy to resist, you just throw willpower at it. More than that, it requires a scene of social interaction... ie you have to talk to the victim, interact with them and so on.

Willpower is something available to everyone. And if it successfully hits you. You don't even NEED to spend willpower to get rid of it's effects. 1 season of no positive interaction would do and the positive intimacy drops off on its own. And you can get rid of the corrupted/negative intimacies as normal.

That makes more sense then, though it's a nonstandard usage. A charm that takes an hour to use is still of Instant duration if it doesn't involve committing essence afterwards. It would just have a type of Simple(Dramatic Action), with any relevant details in the charm text.

At that sort of scale the willpower cost is probably largely irrelevant, and resistance is not nearly as important, because you do have to convince them to not walk away, which means you probably beat their MDV anyways.

This really depends on how the ST manages NPCs. RAW getting rid of an unwanted intimacy is stupidly easy, but they really shouldn't do that without good reason. An extra isn't likely to spend 3wp unless something they greatly value is threatened. A heroic mortal might, especially if they feel they or their principles have been violated.

Actually, she's not really addicted as she can live without Vicky's aura just fine. It's more like very strong conditioning. In terms of Exalted... I dunno. Extra dots in intimacy? Additional intimacies? >.<

TDP will be keeping all of the contact numbers to start a spy network. Though, most likely, they will only be rewarded with dates. Which will probably be enough to keep them giving you info.

You will be making a game of New Wave 2nd Ed minus Crystal plus Dean guessing your name and going by Nemo.

You'll be taking your leave after the Dallon sisters return from the loo.

And then you will be taking a major interaction to talk to Sabah and then head over to the Wards. This will help solidify your relationship with her.

On Sabah's characterization. It came up in IRC. She is riding the Hypetrain and there are no brakes. TDP is fast becoming a friend who is cool with (and even encouraging of) Sabah being a lesbian, is interested in what she is doing/planning to do in/with her life, and treats her very well. She might have a bit of a freak out when she gets home and the Hypetrain derails.

I think that was everything I wanted to cover.
