That's what we can use Apes for technology advancement.

Hmm...minimal medical knowledge, haven't invented bandages yet...

Is she licking his wounds clean?

Some kind of medical capability beyond cat tongue might also be a good idea.

Cat tongues are obviously the greatest medical instrument that exists and will ever exist. :p

Skulls for the doubles throne!

We're in a jungle that's probably LOADED with toxic shit. Finding stuff that is medicinal rather then LETHAL is likely going to be chore.

Good thing we seem to be rather adept at gathering pets to experiment on.

at least that means plenty of posions when we figure out weapons.

I was thinking more "wrap something around a wound to keep the red stuff in" and working our way up from there. Physical stuff. A primitive splint isn't out of the question either, but we have yet to require one.

We should investigate the arcane technology of Names...

I propose the names Nya & Nyan for the adults.~

we just need to find things that in small enough doses kill diseases and parasites faster than they kill us.

So... let's partner with other animal for tech? Cause it looks like we're suck at it...
Nah, it's only first tries.

So, good news is we'll probably have an opportunity to learn how to set bones next turn.

The next month is a flurry of exploration and exitement. The cats spend time flitting from branch to branch, exploring their territory thoroughly and expanding it's boundaries up to two days trip from the main camp. They make a point of keeping a wary eye out for other creatures, now knowing that while they are certainly the greatest beast in the jungle, there are other animals that are somewhat competent and amusing to keep around.

Meanwhile, one of the Apes has had an Idea. If he were to take a rock, and use it to break other rocks... Why, he could make smaller rocks. The other Apes have less than stellar expectations of the results- What, after all, would having smaller rocks be good for? Everyone knows that bigger rocks are better to squish things with.

Nevertheless, the ape spends quite a bit of time attempting to break rocks by pounding them together. Despite fervor and quite a bit of effort, however, the only results are a loud noise that irritates the other apes and a smashed, mangled finger. The other apes quickly take to mockingly calling him 'Smashed Finger', and soon he grows tired of listening to their taunts and stops actively trying to break rocks.

He knows in his heart that he can do it, that broken rocks are good for... something. Unfortunately, he just can't figure out how, or what.

Near the end of the month, the Cat's efforts pay off- They find a steep cliff, falling off into a massive, turbulent pool of water. There are some small, rocky islands near the coast, but they peter off into an endless expanse of blue water.

Etched into the side of the cliffs are a series of small nooks and crevices, holding nests not dissimilar to their own. From these nests fly small bird-like creatures, clutching long and pointed sticks.

Unfortunately, the Cats cannot safely navigate the rock face to investigate the creatures and their nests further, and so they return, unnoticed, to the jungle from which they came.

[Gained 5 Long-Tail Macaque]
[Discovered Holding- Cliffside Village]
[Gained Technology- The Finger-Crusher]

[Turns are set to 1 month]
[] Cats do nya?
[] Apes do nya?

[X] Cat's find out what Birds eat if they eat meat bring them a boar to show that cats are Nice nya.

[X] Smashed finger sees a sharp rock and cuts fruit with it.

[X] Go forth and pile both meat and Fruit near to Bird Village, watching carefully which things they pick up... hang out next to the food piles and allow your subjects to be a glimpse of your magnificent prowess as a provider.
- [X] Impress the birdies by Luring progressively bigger and scarier things out towards their village (using the same food piles) and MURDERING THE FUCK OUT OF THEM from the shadows then presenting your kills dramatically to your subjects to be, using your scouted knowledge of the terrain for striking advantage. Thus making the meat pile ever larger... Things which do not challenge you are allowed to eat.

[X] Smashed fingers picks up a sharp rock and slams it though a tough fruit...

[X] Apes mock Smashed-Finger, but Smashed-Finger show them, he show them all. Wake up at night when the moon is out, and smash rock on rock again, away from camp.
