Video Games General

There are no achievements you can't get on normal mode. I recommend NG+ for achievement hunting once you finish the game and get decent equipment.
Glad to hear it

Oh I really am...

And on that side, how much have you enjoyed Hell's Paradise? Heh.

At the end of phase two I literally didn't have anything in my inventory left...and that was after restocking the mid-mission preparation screen gave me...

Edit: Found it. It's The Awakened Fate Ultimatum
The Awakened Fate Ultimatum.
Thanks

In case anyone is interested...
Project Nornium (or, as it's listed on Steam, 失乐星图Nornium) just entered early access on Steam
Can't give feedback personally as i got the mail notif just as I'm getting ready to go to work

Decided to give the Fencer another shot in EDF 6 and I remember why I usually play Wing Diver. I know the Fencer is great when it comes into its own but, the clunkiness is hard to get used.

Fencer becomes significantly more fun once you figure whatever version of the dash trick is in a given title. Not sure how it works in 6 though. It 4.1 it was using the the melee attack of a Javelin right after the dash begins to end. In 5 it was using the dash immediately after you start the jump boost. Though that one let you get upgrades to use them more times in a row for extra fun. You get mobility that while still surpassed by Wing Diver and the speedier Air Raider vehicles is still quite respectable.

I'm guessing it still works the same way in 6 since it's mostly running off the same rules as 5. Just gotta get used to doing that and find weapons that I like the feel of. The spear's fun and I kinda like the hand cannon a little better than the Gatling gun even if the accuracy isn't the best.

depending if any of my buddies were playing Air Raider we sometimes played around with Haytal launchers (macross missile massacre is funny), but most of the time I had a movement loadout and my second one was double Gallic Heavy Cannons. Because pelting dudes from across the map is fairly entertaining with some of the ragdoll physics. They also do a sizable amount of damage so they are definitely worthwhile trying out once you get them.

If you happen to be looking for a new game of some kind, AlphaBetaGamer put together a compilation of trailers for various kinds of games. Quite a variety in terms of genre and style too so there's probably something you'd be interested in. Youtube description has the game names if you can't get them from the trailers themselves.

They've also played a few of them if you want a look at the demo gameplay or the like.

You know those cartoons where someone goes to dig something out of their closet and starts throwing everything, sometimes including the kitchen sink, out at a rapid pace?

Yeah. That's the True Final Boss of Mothergunship: Forge. Everything including the kitchen sink. Got the motherfucker down to probably 5% health before the numbers overwhelmed me.

Aside1: Also when I tried to play Beat Saber I realized that not only did it just update, breaking all my mods... they changed the version number back to 1.0 so the ModAssistant thinks every mod it's ever had is compatible again. I didn't check, but they probably aren't.

Aside2: Started Graveyard Keeper. Good god that game has a terrible case of Guide Dang It. "You need a repair kit." "Where do I get it?" "Woodcrafting bench." "How do I get one of those?" *shrug* "Can I find one somewhere?" *shrug* "What crafting spot of the dozen lying around do I need to use?" "Figure it out." "Okay I found it. What do I need to get these materials to build it?" *shrug*

Decided to uninstall that for now, don't need the frustration.

Aside3: The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets. It's like one of those I Spy books but in VR. Some stuff interacts with other stuff for simple puzzles, but it's a pretty basic game. It's kinda cute though, and I got it in a bundle with some better games, so I can't complain.

It was a pain for everyone, but then again everyone I've talked to about it felt immense satisfaction after finally completing this challenge.

Completed Kill it with Fire. TL;DR: You saw a spider. That's it. That's the game. You need to kill spiders, and it gives you increasingly ridiculous ways to do it. You don't have a health bar, spider's can't even hurt you. Rocket launcher is probably my favorite. Won't spoil the final level, but it's pretty amusing.

There is an Arachnophobia mode that changes the spiders to other things, if it freaks you out too bad. I got startled now and again, but it's not really scary.

I just need to complete one more Arachno-Gauntlet to open the last door in the epilogue stage, and to complete the ridiculous code to access the room in your basement.

I heard Killing Floor 3 is aiming for a hero shooter angle, sort of like Black Ops 3 and 4 specialists, and it's kind of killed my excitement for the game. I don't mind losing the ability to use off perk weapons, but forcing me to use specific characters to use certain types of weapons bothers me. I get wanting to do something different but this is on the worse end up possible changes they could've made.

Anyone knows anything bout Krafton?

They published the Callisto Protocol.

The door in the basement has the last Arachno-Gauntlet behind it, use the UV light found in the epilogue on certain missions to find the code pieces. Code was originally part of an ARG but once that finished everyone got a randomised code instead.

I know. I already did it- granted I bruteforced the last part of the code, not hard. Trying to power up the weapon within doing the Halloween missions and possibly the Christmas ones too once I run out of those.

Tried Star Shelter.

It's a base-building game. Seems pretty standard so far, though I'm struggling to gather the initial resources because the movement system is... awkward.

Because it's a VR game and you're in Zero G. You have glove thrusters, but they eat through your oxygen if you overuse them. Thus Sir Issac Newton is your best and worst friend. Your ship doesn't even have gravity (at first?) but in your base you have all the oxygen you need unless you let a hole sit there unrepaired, so your thrusters can move you wherever... but the best way to move around a structure is to grab the wall and sling yourself around. Which is probably my favorite part of the whole thing. Also you cannot stop because Sir Issac Newton gives no fucks. So unless you're holding onto something with one hand, you drift. Which is slightly annoying but cool. I haven't gotten into the base building yet, because resources- right now I'm just struggling to find the stuff I need to start growing food.

Complaints so far: turning. This is from 2017 and it seems to have been a lot more common back then, but I think they started making the game with the assumption you'd just turn yourself, which I hate to do because it's a bit hazardous. Smooth turning is a big nope for your motion sickness, and it's way too fast, and snap-turning... is set to 90 degrees. Which is annoying. Most modern VR games go with 45. I'm gonna dig around and see if I can fix that somehow. Only major complaint so far, but reviews say the game is pretty buggy, so we'll see.

It is the first VR game to actually give me motion sickness, so there's that. Not too bad, only started after probably thirty minutes, which is pretty standard for most people.

Also plugged in Pizza Hero, which was up on Steam for free a while back.

...It's Vampire Survivors but you're a pizza. That's the game.

Also you have pets, which is a fantastic idea, as they gather XP for you instead of you having to wade through the horde to get it.

Managed to make the kurohyou patch work, the fighting styles/ combos are so good for a game this old, they should not hit this hard, tho the camera placement feels too close sometimes which sucks

Keyword is on the Yet.

We haven't reached the peak of thirst mountain.

They are going all in and I love it. I was fully expecting Agave to be a new operator after finishing the latest chapter though.

It's kind of fun how Seasun devs apparently check social forums for their game and do grab good idea. Like Cherno and Meursault, a case of two in one body. They were ideas to have Meursault appear in gameplay and the devs went ahead and did it.

Playerbase: can we please have this?

Devs: ok sure

Playerbase: yeah we already expe- wait what? Really?

I said it before, but I am fairly certain that Snowbreak is the only gatcha game that not only lets you marry any Waifu, let alone the main 2, but also has that reflected in the narrative. Other operators have commented on the rings even.
