Video Games General

Looks like they're fighting an OC Donut Steele Gundam so at least we won't have to hear Amuro counting as he stacks up their bodies. :V
Considering how previous gundam games to my knowledge didn't really shy away from letting you go toe to toe with Amuro (you can beat him up though not kill him) I'm not sure that it would end in them dying even if he did show up. Still from what I could make out there's already a Feddy team for them to fight (also all girls kek) so it won't matter too much.

On the subject of Gundams has anyone else been playing Super Robot Wars 30 since it came out? I've been having a blast with it, although I'm kinda put out that the OG mech this time is just a standard Huckbein.

Tbh, that one I was talking about (Zeonic Front, I think) was the last Gundam game I played and he was invulnerable as far as I know.

I wish you could've picked between a Real and a Super for the OG like some of the previous ones let you.

Encounters in space has him pop up on missions but very durable and he runs away if you whittle him down too much.

The PS1 had some good moments before the PS2 came for gundam games.

Especially some kickass music.

The most funnest I ever saw was on the gamecube. It allows you to play some of the characters from both sides in a nice interface on ground or in space. They even include additional cutscenes for non canon moments if you manage to beat characters the character was supposed to lose against.

And now I'm thinking about the other Gundam game I used to play as a kid.

That new gundam game is low-key horror game. You get to be zeon goons, not much battle experiences, burdened with expectations, and you are pitted against fooking Gundam. At least you've got teammates and resources unlike the guys from War in the Pocket.

Lot of Gundam fans in this thread. I'm not surprised, but it did make me wonder whether we have a Gundam or at least giant robots thread in NSFW Creative Writing.

I had to find the new trailer for that one that got released yesterday.

The first gundam sighting looks like a pixy gundam thanks to it's beam dagger. I don't know the second.

They got it all planned out.

War in the pocket guys were veteran spec ops (well other then possibly Bernie but even he was good) and had top of the line ms to work with. The Kampfer for instance was top of the line and only failed because the gundam's over armor was absurd and because scarlet team died in 10 seconds being useless heroically tanked most of it's amunition (seriously, 4GM snipers and 2 guncannons and they died like chumps).

Shame it's Playstation exclusive otherwise I might be tempted to check it out. Maybe they'll port it eventually.

I doubt it. Sony and MSG are japanese entries, so they are most likely trying to keep it there. Did Final Fantasy ever get any ports to XBOX?

No and people wonder why others have generally stopped giving a danm about FF. At least Atlus is cognizant enough to have stuff start being published on other systems.
Every mainline FF except for the better (read: GBA) versions of V and VI (because Pixel Remaster bullshit - the 3D versions of III and IV are present) is on Steam, plus Dissidia, World of, Type-0... and a SaGa bundle. Many of the older titles (counting X/X-2 HD as "old") are on the Switch store as well.

The new games then. Honestly, I can take only so much MMO-Only bullshit before I stop bothering with hoping for new entries.

The 13 trilogy, 14 and multiple x-packs, and 15 are all on Steam for certain.

checks the Switch eshop

7, 8, 9, 10/10-2, Crystal Chronicles, that same SaGa collection, 12, World of, Chocobo Mystery Dungeon, 15 (E: Pocket Edition, because apparently that makes a difference). If you want 1-6 on a Nintendo handheld, just jailbreak a 3DS and load up 1-2 Origins and 4/5/6 Advance through virtual console injection or 3/4 3D through the DS-on-3DS emulator Twilight Menu. (Also FFTA 1/2 and Chrono Trigger DS.)

Quick note, the Switch does not actually have 15 on it; instead, it has 15 Pocket Edition HD, a port of the mobile phone/tablet version.

On the topic of Final Fantasy, bit of news regarding the upcoming Endwalker expansion. Endwalker has been delayed by two weeks, with Early access and Patch 6.0 dropping on December 3rd and the full expansion goes live on the 7th. The delay was Yoshi P's call as he wanted to make sure that there were no issues and everything was top quality. The delay was announced last night during the live letter from the producer detailing upcoming changes in Endwalker.

But on that note, we do have something to tide us over, Endwalker's launch trailer:

Finally played, and finished, Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Great game. Ending made me tear up a bit.

EDIT: Moving back to Psychonauts 2 now... found this amusing bit.

I never knew back in the classic 2d fighting days there's already a fighter whose special move is pretty much being a booty warrior with a censored super move.

So.... how much do you think Martin got involved?

Boy I sure can't wait for Pruld to make an Italian take of the narrative. I have no idea why the thought is funny.

It amazes me they're still putting this stuff out.

Damn good though.
