Video Games General

Oh, so california just fully legalized stealing what you paid for?
This is more of a wording thing. It's just forcing storefronts to be honest that they're selling licenses to a product, not the product, because they can take away your access to it at any time. It doesn't apply to stuff that has permanent offline downloads. It's mostly about live service games and other always online stuff. The article uses the game "The Crew" and Sony's attempt to remove purchased shows from people's libraries because they were getting rid of that content as examples of what it applies to.

Yes, so instead of making that something companies can't do anymore they fully legalized it as long as the company changes it from "purchase" to "license"

Baby steps. Now they have to tell people what they're doing instead of hiding it in the ToS, which means it'll get more attention from the general public.

It's always been completely legal. This practice was never some loophole or fell into a gray area, companies have always been allowed to do this. The goal of the law is to make sure consumers are properly informed about what's actually happening, which is certainly a step in the right direction. To make it illegal would require a complete overhaul of both copyright law (which needs to happen anyway) and the entire digital industry, neither of which a single state can do. It would probably be easier to mandate that companies give refunds for content they make unavailable, which they should.

Beds are great, but those won't get you over the huge cliffs. For that, you'll need the Crawltula and Bind+Follow (which I think you get almost right away?). You latch onto the spider and it crawls up the wall with you attached.

Also, you can climb over the trees if you haven't realized that yet.
Yeah, realizing I can use trees to... travel was how I got to the Deku early.

I probably shouldn't have a chunk of the Echos I have, but it's fun.

The Ys tabletop rpg released and we finally know where the hell Adol is from. He's from the Alps. The region wasn't a formal nation exactly before Romn took it over but it's roughly where Switzerland would be on regular Earth. So he's been Swiss-ish this whole time.

It doesn't end with just people making spinoffs with their favorite character, now somebody in mexico made a store with Doro as a theme.

Nikke memes are funny.

You would think it would be a resurgance of Mega Milk or that Mcnuggies Grimace meme or whatever.

But no, apparently the biggest memes in Nikke is this weird deformed version of one of the major characters. Why? Who knows.

It fits with the random silliness in Nikke.

Because god damn is the current Event causing damage to my brain cells, everyone is retarded in that Event.

I can explain this simply.

It has happened before and will happen again.

The larger the cast, the greater the urge.

Because its funny and a good juxtaposition for the actual character its based on especially as she is a prideful but tragic character.

Just think of it like a scooby doo skit but the dog and another character are the ones that are smart.

FINALLY got the last achievement in Sea of Stars. You never realize how few bosses the game has in the first half until you're halfway through the fucking game and still haven't beaten ten of them.

And most of the bosses in the second half are the optional quests.

Opinion: The game could've been a lot better if the title were more relevant. Move the first Dweller fight a bit sooner into the game, probably a different one entirely, have shit go wrong for everyone after the fight and throw them all into different worlds.

Meet Serai and the pirates in the first one, on a tight timer before the Eclipse and needing to do the whole Dweller of Woe quest by themselves. Get access to the Vespertine and travel to another world when the Sea of Nightmares winks out.

Land in a world with the Solstice Warriors numerous and victorious, Moiraine meeting old friends lost- until the Acolytes (who landed here) finally con some into helping them summon the Blood Moon, using the first Dweller's Core to summon the Dweller of Strife to that world, decimating the Solstice Warriors before fucking off when Zale and Valere come up with a plan that actually seems to hurt it. Establishing Mirth for the survivors of that world, leaving Moiraine there (his "I'm done" scene hit me pretty hard, would definitely happen again,) then sailing hard when a rift appears- the Acolyte's attempt to get back to your homeworld.

Doesn't work, wind up at yet another place. Waterworld with the Doccari maybe. Run into Erlina and Brugraves, possibly their betrayal wasn't so obvious so Zale and Valere trust them for a while, until they backstab at the worst possible time, in aid of getting the Acolytes to move on. Manage to re-open the rift and follow, right to the Fleshmancer's castle.

Garl dies fighting back, manages to steal something off the Fleshmancer that lets him open a rift- to Resh'an's hiding place back on their homeworld. Flask of Borrowed Time applied, skipping Resh'an's stupid fetch quests, they get access to the Sea of Stars, and Garl pulls in the friends you made along the way to enact his plan to Awaken the Sleeper. Wentworth leads them to a Rift that gets them to the Solstice Amulet.

They head back toward the world with the Fleshmancer's castle, which they went to directly before- and the rest proceeds more or less as-canon.

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I downloaded Redot and GitHub Desktop

I keep looking for a YouTube video on how to properly install, so far no idea

Any advice?

do you have visual studio?

Not sure what you mean, but it's my first time using GitHub and it keeps leading back to GitHub Desktop

Can't find a specific YouTube video

Also, I guess it's not something meant to be done on a MacBook Laptop

Plus, I don't have any game assets to use for the engine atm, was just curious about trying it myself

Well, you can probably use it on a macbook, but the toolchain will be entirely different. You need to compile the damn thing.

I'll see if there's a specific method

It's funny and sad that I am only trying this stuff when I am nearing 29

I used gadgets a lot but barely really really used them

Well, damn.

Same game I mentionned two posts above. Others were not kidding about choices, I am currently suffering from some decision paralysis especially as only the author know which one will bite you in the ass more than the other. It's one thing to read about it but when you play it...

So you get tricked into having one demon summoned by the cultist leader.

But the demon is no idiot. He's offering a deal. Let him go and he will leave peacefully and even lock he cultist leader in place for you to deal with before he escape. And no, the demon is not interested in mere destruction, especially as he know that will just get people able to kill him on him. The 'mere destruction' part does seem to ring some mental alarm bells, even if it may be just paranoia. But regardless, letting a demon loose is hardly ideal.

Or, if he must defend himself from you, he will, but there will be no way to catch up to the cultist leader, who sadly has some good political power to cover his ass in th aftermath should he escape alive and will mostly certainly be an issue later on.

The most damning thing is how he doesn't even try to sugercoat the deal in his favor and even do state that yes, it would be rather foolish to trust him at his word, but he must follow the deals he make.

And even then...

Letting him go see the demon return later on, offering to join as an advisor and even become a party member. But obviously, there are some people that will not like that deal, most especially one religious order.

I know Last Sovereign offered plenty of choices, especially regarding where to invest and when, this that kind of choice here is rather hard to decide in quite a different way.

...Why can't we have more games offering such hard choices, damn?
