Vote Thread for Ack's Omake Corner

[X] It Gets Worse - 6

Can't vote for this yet. Those 6 points will just go to whatever gets the least votes (like Bait & Switch).

That is correct. Unless a story is in the voting list, voting for it will do nothing. I will, however, write chapters on such stories as I see fit, over and above the chapters for the story currently in the lineup. Upside: it's a bonus. Downside: you can't vote for it.

Slippery Slope was furthest off in raw vote count; it earned a whopping 61 votes more than anticipated, nearly doubling its average vote intake over the last ten rounds. If it can keep that up, it'll join the ranks of the most rapidly-updating stories in Ack's lineup -- those 5-6 stories that routinely bring in 100+ votes every time and update like clockwork.

Woooooo!

Vote 87: MirrorVerse
Thanks, as always, for voting.

Voting points this round: 1519

Announcement
The new vote counting system is awesome. That is all.

WickedTruth - It Gets Worse is not a valid voting choice. So the 6 points you put toward it has gone toward the lowest-earning option, which in this case is Junior Hero. It thanks you :p

[If you want to know which of these stories is NSFW, check the first post of the thread..]

So it's MirrorVerse this time around, with fan favourite Wyvern hot on its heels. Really Bad End is numerically the next in line, but with both Junior Hero and Danny & Taylor in the 900s, anything can happen.

Check out Jim Starluck 's spreadsheet for a reasonable prediction.

Note also that the vote counting script given to me by Throne3d was of huge assistance.

Anyway, thanks again for voting, and I hope you enjoy reading the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

For anyone who hasn't voted on this thread before, the voting rules go as follows:

1) UP TO six votes. I will not count anything extra, and a write-in will likely be ignored (if I want to write a different story, I will, but at my own discretion). Suggestions are welcome, but I am under no obligation to carry them out. And just remember, the more stories I am writing, the longer it will take for your favourites to roll back around.
2) First vote is worth six points, second is worth five, and so on.
3) You can't vote twice on the same story. The voting code will count the last vote and ignore previous ones.
4) If I say "Voting is CLOSED", then this post comes up, with "Voting is OPEN" at the bottom, then you can vote again.
5) If I say "Voting will continue", it's still the same voting period. Voting has not restarted. You can not vote a second time.

Vote format looks like this:

[X] Alea Iacta Est - 6
[X] I, Panacea - 5
[X] Security! - 4
[X] Recoil - 3
[X] Trump Card - 2
[X] NSW - 1

Specifically: SQUARE brackets around an X, one space, and please spell at least the first word of the name of the story properly. Number of voting points comes last. Please try to format your vote properly, so as not to confuse the vote counter.

Thank you.

Voting is OPEN.

Yes, Wyvern is all but certain to win next round. Funnily enough, it's currently projected to do so with a total of 1,337 votes -- and Uber & Leet haven't even shown up in that story yet. :p

RBE has a different competitor to worry about, however. NSW is coming up a lot faster, and is anticipated to win Vote 89 by 25 votes. Really Bad End will finally get its day after that, winning Vote 90 by about 100. Vote 91 is similarly certain: Alea Iacta Est has a good shot at winning it by 175+ votes.

Vote 92 is still looking like it'll be a close one. Meet the Heberts is on top right now, but by a margin of less than 10 votes. Just a couple votes shifting could put All Alone ahead of it. By Vote 93, however, the far more popular Trump Card will pull ahead and win by anywhere from 20-50 votes, depending on whether MtH holds its position or if All Alone knocks it back. Vote 94 goes to the loser of that particular tussle.

Votes 95 and 96 are very close as well, and will very easily shift by the time we get that far. Right now Danny & Taylor is slated to win Vote 95 by only 10 votes, and Confrontation II by just 2 votes. Following them up and rounding out this round of predictions is recent winner Recoil, back for more in Vote 97.

After that, expected rounds-to-win times are as follows:

Alea Iacta Est: 5
All Alone: 23
Bait & Switch: 23
Confrontation II: 20
Danny & Taylor: 34
Hostage Situation: 7
I, Panacea: 1
Junior Hero: 6
Meet the Heberts: 15
MirrorVerse: 12
NSW: 15
Nemesis: 12
One More Trigger: 8
Really Bad End: 41
Recoil: 10
Security!: 2
Slippery Slope: 1
Trump Card: 8
War Games: 4
Wyvern: 3

Again, that's counting from future Vote 97, not the latest one.

Accuracy of the predictions for Vote 87 was about 97.62% overall, with an average difference between predicted and actual of 12 votes. Most accurate was a three-way time this round: Danny & Taylor, Meet the Heberts and NSW all came in exactly on-target, at 100% accuracy and 0 votes off. Least accurate was Security! at 89.97% accuracy and 32 votes ahead of target.

Oh, and of course there's my vote:
[X] Meet the Heberts - 6
[X] NSW - 5
[X] Security! - 4
[X] War Games - 3
[X] One More Trigger - 2
[X] Recoil - 1

[X] MirrorVerse - 6
[X] All Alone - 5
[X] Alea Iacta Est - 4
[X] Security! - 3
[X] Slippery Slope - 2
[X] One More Trigger - 1

I am willing to change my - 1 vote in exchange for an equivalent vote for MirrorVerse. Just tag me, or quote this post.
6 & 5 MirrorVerse & All Alone w/Angush & SnakeEater. 4 Alea Iacta Est - MirrorVerse w/JKR. 3 Security! - MirrorVerse w/Terrence Mitchem.
2 Slippery Slope - MirrorVerse w/Zackarix
