Huh, had a bit of trouble with it (and according to thst Google results collector AI it can't), I'll give it another try.

AI is usually wrong when you're asking it for facts.
I noticed Microsoft servers shitting the bed yesterday and not letting me log in.Huh, had a bit of trouble with it (and according to thst Google results collector AI it can't), I'll give it another try.
Jst nevre mkae mistayke,s, lkie me.Do we actually have 60 seconds to ninja edit a post? Or is the time instead measured by the minute changing? Because I've had times where I realize that I need to correct a typo immediately after posting and do so, but don't manage to make the timeframe.
Imagine developers adding ability to use eggplant and sweat emojis but removing the ability to alter post-edit timeframe alteration and patting themselves on the back for a job well done.
What exactly is your definition of properly here? Because it seems to work for me?
It only searches within your current subforum, instead of the whole site. What exactly is your definition of properly here? Because it seems to work for me?
That is the intended XF2 behavior, SB works the same way. The XF1 behavior is not planned to be restored, and is likely impossible to anyway. It only searches within your current subforum, instead of the whole site.
If you want all results across the site for a given tag, use the Advanced Search function and enter the tag(s) you're after. It only searches within your current subforum, instead of the whole site.

I've been going to the front page and doing basic title searches, since that includes tags anyway. If you want all results across the site for a given tag, use the Advanced Search function and enter the tag(s) you're after.
Either behaviour is a perfectly reasonable default. If I click on the 'Worm' tag while reading a Worm fic, I presumably want more Worm fics, not Worm quests, or discussions of Worm canon, or threads about managing worms in your garden.
It's an old glitch from the before times, I believe. Before the switch, if you were long into forum(dot)QQ and then switched to QQ without the forum(dot), you had to log in again because computer shenanigans I don't understand.I had a login problem, where, I logged in, but trying to click on a NSFW story from my bookmarks gave me an error message saying I need to log in. I logged in again and it fixed itself, but it was weird.

Novelupdates has the same with the forum serving as the actual main entrance to continue the metaphor, logging you in to both while you need to log in to the forum again even after logging into the main sitequestionablequesting.com =/= forum.questionablequesting.com
Sort of.
It's ancient lore of the before times. Oversimplifying, it's kind of like having two ways to enter one house. Even if you unlock one, you still have to unlock the other door to use the other door. But it's the same house you're entering either way.
You likely logged into/use one consistently, but the story you bookmarked was one you made when using the other. So even though you were logged into your usual, the other one still needed a login to get in.
What are you talking about? There's limits to editing your posts. So what's the situation with a five minute edit window?
Is it a feature that got left out or pay-gated?
You have a minute-long window to edit your post before EDITED shows up in the bottom right of the post, but that used to be a five minute window after the upgrade. What are you talking about? There's limits to editing your posts.
AFAIK that's either illegal or functionally impossible, unfortunately. But not an admin so can't comment for sure.We still don't have emails that contain the post's content back. @alethiophile, can you give us an update?
I still get email alerts that contain the contents of the post from other forums that use XenForo, so it clearly isn't impossible.AFAIK that's either illegal or functionally impossible, unfortunately. But not an admin so can't comment for sure.
(...other than "if it was possible it would have been added back ages ago because it's, like, THE most asked for feature")

Has nothing to do with legality, XF2 just doesn't do it by default. 2020 was before the changeover. It is possible, I still had a notification email from QQ back in 2020 that has the full content of said post.
It was a removed feature for some probably legal reason.
