A Sapient Megadungeon is You (Generic D&Dish fantasy)

[X] Stone carvings on the walls and indecipherable writing, parts of them trigger poison arrow traps when touched.
[X] They're here for historical purposes, give them some wall ornaments and say that the ornaments further in are less worn-down to lure them further in
[X] 6 dogs and 5 bats

I guess poisoned arrows aren't that far out beyond what you have so as to be undoable. (Though the only listed traps are a small poisoned needle that should be part of some mechanical thing like a lock and normal arrows.)

Also remember that you voted for a boulder trap that doesn't work most of the time, you may not want to pin everything on having that catch people on the way out.

Oh, so we can't vote to have the boulder trap actually work now?

Remember that we don't really want a TPK, we need to let some escape. We still have the third room to kill some of them if they all survive this room.

Sez you. I'm trying for a TPK so we can stop this wizard thing before it blows up in our face.

[X] A series of spike traps, creating a simple maze. The traps are visibly different from the rest of the floor, but only slightly.
[X] Irregularly placed, shallow ditches to trip people up and twist ankles.
[X] ALL THE BATS.

it DOES have a much higher chance of bringing in wizards, who are apparently top-tier in this setting.

And also able to solo a three-room dungeon, and likely to spot our bullshit, and might even be able to do some magical bullshit that could actually hurt us.

You could vote to scrap the original layout I guess.

Also a2znut votes for this (and still refuses to post in the non-nsfw sections I guess.) http://pastebin.com/ZgszaRSm

I'm more interested in just having the Boulder work when it gets set off.

[X]18 Wolves and 36 bats.
[X]Treasue Chest Lock with reverse pressure point. Tied to Spikes
[X]Tripwire obvious. With Tripwire normal in the shadow of it tied to arrows.
[X]Mage hand set of a tripwire if they avoid it.

It has to be fair, remember?

[X] They're here for historical purposes, give them some wall ornaments and say that the ornaments further in are less worn-down to lure them further in
[X] 6 dogs and 5 bats

[X] A few wild animals has made their homes here. (5 wolves)
[X] Sloped room with they entering through the lower end heading up.
[X] Stone carvings depicting lewd acts on the walls with indecipherable writing scattered with removable with worn wall ornaments that are loot-able.
[X] Apologize, stating that the wizard whom lair you are breaking into is a pervert who had a large harem of females, hence the lair name being what it is. (Hidden Palace, the Cavern of Lewd Perversions)
[X] Hint that they are very close to the library, but a few more dangerous animals might have made their homes deeper within, but that they've already dealt with the outside ones.
[X] Phallic pedestal which is just right for a female to mount near wall to entrance (or male, if they're into that). It is a pressure plate and a reverse pressure plate. Pushing down will drop down a rock that covers the entrance to the third room harmlessly, getting off without pushing another pressure plate will drop down a boulder chase trap from where the hole revealed is.
[X] Subtly lead the conversation to make them think that only by leaving someone here the entire time would keep the doorway open and not trigger dangerous traps within this room.
[X] Pressure Plate really really really well hidden but within reachable grasp of the person mounted on pedestal is, this will disarm the boulder trap and drop another boulder down, closing the aforementioned doorway and dropping yet another boulder for another opening, which leads the way to the dungeons. (Actual Dungeons Actually Included)
[X] Pressure plate in dungeon drops another boulder to trap person in dungeon.
[X] After the other group leave to head to the third room, if person mounted on pedestal is male, don't say anything to them, if female, say that there is a secret button that whoever the wizard leaves to open the door to his own lair uses to get in after the wizard enters.
[X] Poisoned Arrow traps on opening to the third room to discourage tampering.

*blinks* Why would a2z refuse to post in SFW?

Spamming low level monsters against a foe like this is silly. His "AC" is probably far too high for them to touch without a 20, and even then he could probably soak a crit or two.

Especially with three healers on hand. Yeesh.

Darkened, is Plan Pervert a valid vote?

Because he really likes porn?

Yeah, even in my "fukkit, lets murder them all" plan, the animals are just for flavor, and to maybe get lucky killing a healer.

Darkened, would writing porn entertain you? I can take it or leave it, personally, but if it'll get you even more interested in the quest...

Wouldn't have posted it when A2z made it if it wasn't. If people really push to go porny they can, though NSFW stuff will probably slow down updates since I usually write them, well, at work. That would nix that writing time.

On the other hand, the way I'd write the outcome for that vote isn't necessarily going to end up NSFW at all. Especially since you lack the pressure-plate upgrade to do exactly what you want easily.

Not actually using D&D rules for this, but yeah something like that. I'll also go ahead and note that you're using actual wild animals versus making them.... Going with all of them at once might leave you wanting to

[X] Plan Pervert

I've given up on making this a hyper-efficient death trap, so I'll now go with the lols.

[X] plan pervert.

I seriously expect the adventurer to just weigh the pressure plate-dick down with a rock or something. i'm only voting for this to see the monk's faces when they realize what kind of place this is.

Come on, if you want NSFW stuff, then you need to set it up a little better than "lol, fuck this statue to open the door"

also, would magic 1 let us make any magical monsters? like slimes or something?

i'm sick of wolves and bats.

maybe if we had any levels in Monster, as it is we are still at 0 which means using monsters lures in.

honestly, as far as I'm concerned, even if we don't get any of the others I call this a win, after all, we have more power now then we did when they came *thanks Wil, look on the bright side, your with your brother again O:) *

didn't realize we had no levels in monster.

I think we quoted at 3 monster and 3 magic to start summoning succubi? i don't remember.

it was less than normal, due to our dark affinity though.

hey, even if we only have three rooms, could we have passages and stuff between them, or do they meed to be linear?

I kinda want a "backstage" area where our mini-bosses can sneak around later on.

Can we use one of the lives we got from Will to get Monsters 1?
I'm thinking Monsters 1 and the Specific Weight sub-type, myself.

Also, two other things: the "character" sheet still lists Magic as "0", and what is Petricia wearing? Your dodging of the subject has made me curious.

Mates if we don't have the pressure plate upgrade there's no point to plan pervert.

Is it possible to reset traps for the journey out or do we need an upgrade for that?

The plan as written is attemptable. The devices may very well work as planned.

For things that push the edge of your current abilities like that I'll generally be rolling for malfunctions on a fairly challenging difficulty. Right now though, I'm still giving people some leeway through these first few rounds, since I want to encourage more slightly over the top plans, sequential traps, etc and the like versus shutting everything complicated down for overreaching or outsmarting yourself. Once you build up a few skills and get the hang of setting up more devious layouts, I'll start raising the bar for having things work reliably a bit.

That said, you still shouldn't expect adventurers to go along with everything just because it's convoluted.

As for resets, it depends on the trap. Resetting spikes that shoot out or a tiny needle that pokes someone while they're tinkering with a lock isn't terribly complicated to conceive. Resetting the arrows is a bit trickier, but there are probably ways to fake it. Resetting a boulder that already rolled downhill a long ways is a much more difficult premise.

In general if a trap shoots something out or visibly expends some resource (that doesn't include things like spring compression being lost), resetting it may be tricky for you as you are now. If a trap has no parts that rocket out or the like, resetting it should generally be viable.

5 adventurers, each at Wil's tier or higher. If Wil was worth two souls then:

2/10+ possible lives isn't a great ratio if you actually want to grow.

The character sheet still lists 0? Don't be silly, I have no idea whatsoever what you're talking about. Like I'd make a silly mistake like that. >.>

As for what she's wearing, would "Not much" suffice for an answer? If you want more description imagine a passably beautiful woman dressed up in the kind of outfit a 14 year old boy would imagine for his elf sorceress PC in his first D&D campaign.

Re: Monsters/upgrades. Upgrades may only be bought between waves of adventurers. Theoretically the layout would be set up in advance, so you're not going to get new powers mid-run through aside from maybe merits.

magic 5+, Monsters 4+ and Traps 4+ for succubi, but you get to drop all of those by 1 because of darkness. So, if you went straight there, it would only be 14 lives spent on monsters and 29 lives spent on magic to get there.

As for in between areas, nope. You get 3 rooms, and whatever merits give you (such as the dungeon). Or you could raise layout and watch the number of rooms rapidly stop being a serious limiting constraint compared to the amount of total traps and real monsters you can manage. (Really high layout will also allow you to do things like non-euclidian arrangements of rooms, backstage areas for monsters to shuffle around, bottomless pits, and... surprises.)

Anyway, votes between Plan Pervert and:
[X] Stone carvings on the walls and indecipherable writing, parts of them trigger poison arrow traps when touched. etc

seem pretty neck and neck. Pervert looks ahead by 1 but I have some work to do before I can write an update. I'll let votes go for a little while longer if anyone wants to change votes.
