Regarding organizing our territory we need to talk with Rias and Sona before anything else. We did agree to that before going to see the Phenex as I recall.

You didn't say anything about perception in your post, which would bring it to 27, yes.

But intelligence would require training every single day for the full two weeks to raise, keeping Issei from taking any time off at all. Also, once the suspension is over he'll be back in school and therefor forced to train it every day anyway, so it's not a great use of time. Especially when other things are already trained and are just waiting for the XP to be spent.
 
Why are you guys so invested in Strength, Wits, Int or Perception? They don't add much, really. It's much better to increase Dex and get Infinity Martial Arts Mastery. Anything else is a waste of xp. Aren't we entering Excalibur Arc? We should prepare to not die horribly.

For the people interested in the Evil Pieces research, we will need a lab to produce them. Fortunately, Alexander is doing it already Manse. We will have an workshop and a Wyld Revocation to make time run faster. So I suppose we should check its construction too, otherwise researching the pieces is useless. If the construction is too slow, we may need to ask Rias a favor, like she when she rebuilt Issei's home.

About Social Combat, why Appearance is Godstat is this: if we have App 5 and an opponent have App 2, his MDV (Mental Defense Value) is reduced -3, while ours is increased +3. The maximum bonus is 3.
Note: There are two types of MDV: Parry MDV [(Charisma/Manipulation + Presence/Performance/Investigation + Specialty) / 2] and Dodge MDV [(Willpower + Essence + Integrity + Specialty) / 2]. Usually, like our case, Dodge MDV is the higher value.

because there are some very good and delicious overpowered knacks that synergize well with our other abilities that require strength wit intelligence and perception all to be at 4, not to mention all the charms that require those as well. while infinity martial arts is good, it is not necessary thanks to our overdrive pools and boosted gears nature. Remember we are a twilight not a dawn XD

also wits and strength 4 is necessary to unlock the sage dragon and savage dragon upgrades.

Sage is important if we want to use martial art while having dragoons buff.

but given what stroth said I might be okay with changing out intelligence for dex unless there is something better we can use the exp on.

My goal is to have almost all attributes to around 5+ by the time the treaty is over as we start getting into the really good stuff there.
 
about the only other thing I want to do but I thought we should wait on is studying the Shinobi Kekkai and Shinobi Tenshin. the first is super useful if only because every time we spend motes we announce to the world supernatural event happening hear.

as for the exp for intelligence it might be better spent on Craft witch is Ability 3/4 Immediate/6 days (3+ hours for day) for Favored or cast / not favored or cast. so 6 exp to bring us to 5 in craft so when we get our workshop we can produce some interesting armors and artifacts for our friends.
 
IAM is one of the things that make Solars so good in combat, you should never underestimate it, with or without overdrive. Also, what happens when the enemy doesn't give time to boost, like the Kurotabou fight? Will Kokubiel or Vali be much gentler?

Oh, yeah, good call on the Knacks. But raising Attributes is very expensive, I'm not certain it is a good investment because it spread our power instead of focusing. Afterall, we finally maxed Martial Arts, Presence and Resistance; we should capitalize and get the Charms from these trees instead of ramificating into other stuff. Knacks are good for Lunars because they are generalists, Solars are specialists, we get incredibly good in certain areas, not at everything.

Also this: talking we are Twilight and not Dawn only works in a Solar Circle, specifically a Perfect Circle because each member can specialize in something, Dawn usually being the combatant. But as we are the only Solar and the one to fight the heavy hitters, not our comrades, then dismissing combat because of Caste is senseless. Solars are dead without motes, we need to do everything to conserve it, that's why Infinity Martial Arts Mastery is important. Anyway, Charms >>> Attributes; it was the Charm tech that defeated the Primordials, not Attributes.

looked over infinite martial arts mastery and doesn't it need ability 4 for min req? Like I said before while nice, we don't need it thanks to boosted gear mote pools and there is much more important stuff we want to buy instead of that.


as for not giving time we have comrades to help and our stamina, health and defensive charms are no joke which can buy us time to boost as well as our parry values.

Right now we have maybe a week or two a little longer until kokabiel starts mucking around. I want to at least reach minimal stats to buy those knacks and more charms so that we can kick his ass.

Charms we can go into exp debt to acquire and up to three, everything else requires training, time, mentor and exp.

Hence why I am not to worried about charms just meeting their prereqs.

You are confusing many things. Let's get the most important thing: DEX IS GODSTAT in Exalted! There is no optimized build with Dex less than 5. Why? Because it matters to attack, defend, speed, craft, stealth, larceny, athletics, performance, ride, sail and probably much more.

Infinity Martial Arts Mastery needs Martials Arts 4, Essence 3; we are Martial Arts 5, Essence 4. You don't seem to understand the toll paying First MA Ex have on our Essence reserves. It's 7~9 per attack, that's crazy expensive!

Our DVs are great? Where? They are 6 Dodge plus Reed in the Wind. In normal Exalted you need over 12 to be less bad, and even then you can die. Our soak goes around 15; normally not even 30 garantees your life. Regen is around 5 seconds, same of boost, so if we don't have time to boost, we won't regen.

And you are thinking of Charms as isolated islands. Charms are supposed to be used in a Combo to create a much greater effect. Let's see how much it would cost to create an attack to give pain to Vali: First Martial Excellency (10) + Sledgehammer Fist Punch (1) + Heaven Thunder Hammer (3) + Shockwave Technique (4+1WP) + Enemy Castigating Solar Judgement (2) = 20 motes and 1 wp per attack. Note that half of the Essence used was to only pay First Excellency!

With IAM, it's possible to use almost twice more combo AND have a DV of 10 during all the fight. Without IAM we can never go crazy with Hammer on Iron Technique and it would be a waste because we already purchased it and is an awesome Charm that matters in battle (and Dexterity improves it).

Also Dexterity is way better than Strength in our build because of Fist of the Daystar Form, that doubles the overflow of the attack into the damage, so, not only Dexterity increases chances of attacking and defending but also increase damage better than Strength! This poor stat only matters to use a Grand Goremaul (which we don't use), jump (we can fly and flight speed depends on DEX) and feat of strength.

Now the knacks, I have to say I wasn't impressed by any of them.

Swords are Useless: the name is correct, because the best melee weapon in Exalted is Grand Goremaul that does bashing damage but kills you anyway. Converting lethal to bashing only really improves Infinite Factory of Life, not our survivality, because bashing is as lethal as lethal, yeah, crazy but true.

Predatory Focus: it uses Survival and I can't see how to use it in DxD story so far.

Instincts of the Beast: the Charm Reflex Sidestep Technique is just better.

Natural Born Armor: if it gives armor soak, it probably won't add with Balance Breaker.

Armor Crusher: Fist of Iron Technique, which we already have, already gives Pierce. Also, Clinching already has Piercing tag and we have Dragon Coil Technique to boost it. It's a waste of 9 xp.

Dragon Rampage: this one can be good, but is situational. Sledgehammer Fist Punch is already good at breaking stuff. Not worth buying Strenght and 9 xp.

Supreme Regeneration: what makes Crippling really frightening is stuff like Soul-Cleaving Wound that kills you in one or two hits. If a Crippling effect gives internal penalties, it usually need to cause damage that can be negated by Adamant Skin Technique. It actually is not bad, but kinda situational.

Also all that bigger warform charm does is make us an easier to hit target... not worth the knack slot, when we could get something more useful, particularly since it's not the one that let's us use Martial Arts Forms, now I'm going back to my food and hoping my pain killers kick in

Also noahgab1133, the sage form is just an Attribute enhancer. The only good thing from it is expanding our Excellency cap, which we need IAM anyway to avoid mote tapping.

Yeah, let's worry about Sage Form after we find a teacher, which will probably involve doing a side quest for his mentorship. It's a long term project...

I'd still say its more important to have a well rounded base then focus on dex right away.

yes we have enough to buy infinite martial arts and we should when a fight is going to break out, but just discarding the versatility from knacks is stupid since this is not purely exalt setting, there are no lunars that can fight with us, no other solars or other exalted to help out. We are building up equivalents but we aren't there yet.

DxD also has its share of bull shit

Primary suspect Cao Cao and the rest of the longinus artefacts on par with exaltation shards.

They will not fight like normal exalt rules, and I believe that is where you are mistaken with your focus on dex.

as for the knacks, those were only examples of some, there are much better ones available but require we can only purchase them when we have the requisites available.

Hence why I want to have at least some of the prerequisites so that we can buy them if we need too rather than need them and not be able to get them

Even before this I would prioritize the truth shines through charm then infinite martial arts cause hey we are nearing our limit and when we reach it bad things are going to happen. I'd rather people notice something strange is going on with issei when it does then people just go along with it.

Not saying not to focus Dex so we can use it to beat the shit out of stuff, and not get hit but just purely focusing on it is a mistake. We have good parry values thanks to boosted gear don't discard that either.

To keep things short, Don't just assume focusing on EXALTED's god stat will make this quest a walk in the park. Alex has thrown us curve balls before but at least gave us hints as to what to focus on.

yes we can keep dex something we mainly focus on but I want us to at least reach the point where we can emergency purchase a dragon knack or two should the situation call for it. As well as charms from other trees besides martial arts, especially when the hero faction shows up.

At the very least include training wit's a bit so we can reach sage dragon sooner rather than later.

Wits, and perception will help with finding kokabiel as well as get us closer to have all the prereqs for sage.

Eh, a good argument though. And Wits will help us with Join Battle, so it's not bad, while Perception allows us to actually deal with ambushes/unexpected attacks.

My only problem with both plans is that neither mentions spending time with our girlfriends. Keeping all the girls happy is key to running a successful harem, don't ya know?
Also there is the bad grammar and capitalization, but that's more of an annoyance.
