You know, just how many fairies are there in Gensokyo? I am imagining that in a short time, we will have a greater number of worshippers than pretty much any god in Gensokyo. And all of our worshippers are more or less immortal due to being fairies!

Going by the wiki, which uses some hints and references to fairies in the various mangas, there are as many fairies in Gensokyo as there are phantoms. Considering that Gensokyo has the Netherworld as part of it's geography...that's a lot of fairies. Like, a whole lot of fairies. As in, "Oh dearie me, why is it dark all of a sudden? And where did the sky go?"

You mean, the readers are going to be laughing like crazy. I think it's going to be less so for everyone involved. And may end up with a Mima getting a headache for the first time since before her sealing.

You've got to wonder why they don't have an actual Court since there are so many of them. Probably Yukkari preventing it, because just think about it : Cirno would become the local Winter Queen. That would be SUCH a trainwreck.

Too chaotic. The fairies are beings of random childishness and nature and absolute chaos. It would be impossible for them to form any Kind of organization that is bigger than a couple of them working together for fun. Cirno may be able to command vaste hoards of them if she wants due to power, but that is also because what she does sounds fun to them.

Fairies are very hard to control due to being virtually immortal. There is not much to fear if the worst that could happen to you is falling apart and returning a few hours later.

Any court that they form would be one in Name only.

Even this worship things will likely only work because they get power out of it.

Unless one finds the way to subtly influence then at the unconscious level, causing them to think in a certain way without them realizing it.

Luckily no one in Gensokyo has that kind of power.

If Western Fae didn't have Avalon then they'd be little better then the fairies of Gensokyo; a key element that differentiates fae from fairies is that the former have a form of stabilizing influence that refines their nature.

You know, the funny thing is, its not really our fault, after all Who's responsible for the impression the Fairy's have on how Shrine Maidens are supposed to act after all /laugh somehow I don't think she will take that comment kindly

My though was that if a Court was to actually form, it would influence the fairies Nature and make them much more like their mythological representation rather then the lovable goofballs we know them as. Hence why a Court forming within Gensokyo would be a bad thing. It would break the Status Quo Gensokyo need.
