We have exactly enough bits that if we drop scrying for a Forge 6 reagent and just commit to spending the bits on making it, we can afford to send three people to ruin Hill's day.

Question is, what combination of Names? DoA + Mareinette + Biedde seems the most obvious, but we could also put Cherenkolt into Moth Mode and do DoA + Mareinette + Cherenkolt, or do something like DoA + Mareinette + Baldomare. Maximum sneakiness would be DoA + Biedde + Moth-Cherenkolt.

@OurLadyOfWires considering this is Velvet Hill we're talking about, and I assume Velvet has a bit more than a passing familiarity with the place she spent a considerable chunk of her life at, does that give us any particular advantage? Some insight on what hurdles might be present?

Three is overkill.

As it's a short expedition, I'd send Axe for expedition and combat, and then either Mareinette for social challenges or Biedde for moth and combat.

Mareinette would be the best fit. It's also sending her to get "groceries" for the dinner, in a way. It fits.

Axe will probably dislike it, but... we're kinda short on APs.

I still would prefer to go for a criminal instead. but that requires some tinkering with the plan to fit as much stuff as we can...

But. For these basic things. People agree with, yes?

Meaning that even if Cherenkolt is in artifact form, we can still use his Forge levels for building. Because artifacts act like virtual Lore levels for knowledge checks.

Personally, for those things to discuss... I would argue for the Edge Sacrament this turn, and Two Study actions, and to sell the Edge 3 Artifact. We need those bits more than we need that niche potential bonus for someone else.

I asked about ritual site and got "same answer for the same reason" when he answered the question about the cadre. 3circle site is on the list of perks we gradually unlock as we teach the Lores.

And yes I want Axe to commit BURGLARY this turn no matter what we end up choosing to do with the rest of our priorities. Either against Hill or random rich ponies. We need bits!

I am so curious what you put down for Natural 100

....and Natural 1. I'm absolutely certain that Game Over is a lot more than a 1% possibility so what could you have prepared that's worse on a nat1 specifically.

Also if we were willing to take "random stranger" we'd just do Spoiled instead and skip the need to build a prison. So it doesn't really add a fourth option between Spoiled/Hills/Vigilantism

Windy is a potential unknown. But, out Cult of the Bureau is... Two guys right now. If we have more there, I'd say maybe that's a good potential use of the Bureau. Until then, I'd say it's probably better to just Scry for him if we want to find him.

Detectives action with literally nothing to go on seems like a waste of their effort compared to nipping the Dodge Junction hive in the bud before it metastasizes again. Getting on top of it now means breathing room for Bureau to pursue our objectives later.

Just sending the Constables after Tall Tale isn't a win, that's "Below Expectations". We delayed it by two months and they spread to at least one other location because of it.

Honestly I think spying on Windy isn't even like, a great use of resources.

I think this is fundamentally not accurate to Changelings in Equestrian.

They already metastasized! It happened during the Months their Queen was in control of the kingdom!

They've got lots of outposts and we can play whackamole.

But Windy is there. He's the most lore steeped Pony in Equestria after ourselves. He's been working on a plan for a year, uncontested. HE CAN SUMMON WINDIGOS, and we just saw how much of a threat they are. And that's to say nothing of the WINTER NAME on the loose!

Yes, we can spy on his dreams. We can also send Equestria's best investigators at him.

Agreed on (at least) two study actions and selling Edge 3.

If we sell Edge 3, then it's not as urgent to study the lower rank artifacts. We can let Jade do it for us in the next few turns I suppose.

as for Edge Sacrament... IDEALLY we do it. Some plans might have to give it up to free enough actions (from removing the need for 2 follower AotL on Edge) for cover your bases that would give Velvet one more action.

This is... A much thinner plan, admittedly. It only leaves 2 Follower Actions spare, and one Velvet action, along with her Knock Realization.

And while I might personally like to send out those followers to kidnap Velvet Hills, that would likely be Axe and/or Selene, and without one or the other, I'm not sure we would make the prison on time for him. Add in to the fact that I personally find the personal Forge Sacrament more interesting, it works? Like, you could pop out Cherenkolt's lesson to make him build the prison (fitting for an unloved son to create the cage of an unloving father) we couldn't use our actions next turn on the Forge Sacrament in that case.

So, I'm a little unsure on that part. But the rest, I'm cozy with.

Not necessarily. If one of the Names uses him, it's still a +90 bonus total. The main difference is the lack of reroll.

Third study action gives +3 Moth and +2 Knock to an expedition that will need to make high rolls in both of those to avoid suspicion. I really don't think we should do the duel this turn. We can do it after we've done Personal Forge Sacrament and can kick his ass via the power of drugs without burning all our follower AP.

@Sveta08 don't forget the Risen can provide AotL. Servants/Filthy on Bases means that the Risen can do the AotL alongside Comet. Honestly kind of considering putting Comet on graverobbing now and doing double Risen edge aotl if the thread commits to sacrament. I want to bellyache about suspicion risks but Comet has done it before and absolutely not a peep came of it. And Risen are actually useful for follower granted AotLs

But, I still do not think teaching Rarity in exchange for the Edge Sacrament is a worthwhile tradeoff. We quite frankly don't know what the benefit of the Edge Sacrament will be, and while raising Rarity's lores may make more bits... We also don't know by how much. It could be 30, it could be 5.

I am comfortable, happy even to raise Rarity's lores. It's always a delight. But not at the cost of a Sacrament.
I don't know which is more useful, the third Study Action, or Rarity training. But... Yeah

We did not leash Filthy. Votes swung the other way due to leashing him being an inherently amoral and selfish action. Despite all of the "evil" she has done, Velvet has always at least tried to be "good." For me, personally, I felt that the leash was too far opposed to how she stood as a character.

Despite all of the "evil" she has done, Velvet has always at least tried to be "good." For me, personally, I felt that the leash was too far opposed to how she stood as a character.

From memory off the top of my head she gained about 10 bits/turn. And since Grail 4 gives her the reroll in addition to +2 lore levels compared to Disciple's +3 lore levels, I figure it'll be about another 10 bits/turn on top of another 10ish bits per commission.

Well I'M certainly going to oppose Leashing someone for simple convenience.

Also, instead of contorting our Follower Phase into some three-Name assault on a mortal pony, have you all considered just telling Biedde to just go nab a foal peddler? He kind of has a religious duty to go after such persons anyways.

I will fully admit that I have been blinded by how much loot Copper exploded into when we Name bombed her. I expect assaulting Hills to turn a profit.

I'm fine leashing Filthy but I'm not super attached to it or anything. I'd happily vote for a compromise plan that didn't leash him as long as we got the invitation to dinner... but I don't think there's anyone to compromise with? I don't think there's any kind of scenario where an invitation to dinner+leash vote would fail to gain majority but an invitation with no leash would. And as much as we've been talking about bringing 3 attentions to the duel, two is honestly fine. I'd certainly take a burglary for 40ish bits over the third attention, that's not even close to being competitive since the 3rd attention is only about a 5% odds shift. So it's basically "Leash filthy or take a 5% odds hit on Edge sacrament"

Though of course graverobbing isn't guaranteed and the difference between 1 attention and 2 IS a big deal... so we might not want to risk a comet graverob and instead do comet+risen aotls. But then leashing filthy is actually competing against an AotL this turn AND a risen action next turn.

EDIT: Even if graverob is only a 75% success rate for Comet (Laplace's rule of succession, assuming that Winter realization was a special case we've had a Biedde success on turn 21 and a Comet success during [The Board is Set]), 25% failure chance multiplied by the odds shift of losing the 2nd attention plus the odds shift of the 3rd attention, leashing filthy is something like 8ish percent odds on the Biedde duel? We'd commit to the graverob regardless I think.

Of course we could skip Edge sacrament and teach Rarity instead for zero risk, and we Risen/Servants bases plus a Lantern attention or something from the graverob'd risen.
