Fuhuhuhuhuhu... pervying like a proper princess, yes...

-POV Henrietta-

Sighing to yourself, you await the current meetings lecture to come to an end. Really, Count Flimwick needs to learn how to get to the point. He's just repeating things already said earlier, when your advisers briefed you on this issue. Why is this your problem again? Right, your mother broke down when your father died. At least you are getting some advanced practice on reigning.

Still, you wish something more exciting then Cabbage Imports was being discussed. I mean, anything would be.... better... then this... "Excuse me Count Flimwick, but I think something has come up." You say, eyes fixed on the giant pillar of fire reaching up to the sky in the distance. "We'll have to finish this later."

"What?" Flimwick starts to complain. "But we've already rescheduled twice! What could have come up.." His next word is lost to the explosion as the pillar explodes, and fire begins to rain down from the sky, a thousand burning raindrops as if the heavens were burning.

"That." You comment to yourself dryly as you rapidly make your way to the main audience chamber. "Agnès, Did that look like it came from the Academy's direction to you?" Agnès nods. "The Spring Time Summoning Festival was supposed to happen today?" She suggests.

With a nod, you reply. "Something went horribly wrong? It makes sense. I'm going to go send Count Mott to investigate, but he's going to have a squad of Musketeers as escorts. I'd like you to lead that squad."

"Is that wise, princess?" She asks with a frown. "This is not a time to be decreasing the numbers of your personal guard." Shaking your head, you reply with. "No, but Mott.. while he seems a fop, he's the only messanger in the palace who can take care of himself if something went truly wrong. I'd send Valentin De La Fontaine, but he's off dealing with the Germania affair..."

And then the conversation stops as you you enter the audience hall and have to start taking control and rallying efforts to deal with the blazes that rain of fire will have caused.

------Timeskip--1 Week Later--Timeskip-----

Sighing you put down the papers you were reading. The rain of fire was.. less deadly then one would have thought. Most of the fireballs simply exploded when they reached the ground, leaving a charred crater, but not, and this is the important part, setting everything around them on fire. Most of the fireballs. But not all. And the ones that did set things on fire left the countryside burning in dozens of spots.

If it wasn't for you, personally, waking all the nobles up and bullying them into getting to work .. wind mages to transport water mages and blow the the fires away from villages, Water mages to put the fires out, earth and fire mages to construct emergency firebreaks and counter burns...

Well, things could have been much much worse, and as it is, you still need to find a place for several villages worth of refuges. Also. You need to find out what actually happened because the academy is stonewalling everyone. To be fair, the fact that the only people actually in the courtyard are now all hospitalized from burns and landing on hard objects like the ground is probably the truth...

But you still really doubt that they don't have any idea at all what happened.

But now that you've mostly cleaned up all the issues that came with the rain of fire, well... you've been thinking about visiting an old friend of yours. Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière. A confident from your childhood, and a face you haven't seen since that childhood. She does go to the academy, and they can hardly keep you from visiting it, especially in the wake of the recent event. It would have been her year to summon too, so she probably knows what happened.

...And anyway, you don't have enough true friends you can afford to loose one. It'd be good to make sure that she is alright.

------Timeskip--3 Days Later--Timeskip-----

"Louise.." You don't like seeing her like this. Louise was always an... energetic girl, and seeing her just laying down like this... she shouldn't be this still. It's just wrong in a way you aren't sure how to describe to others.

Still, the healer said she'd probably be waking up soon, and unlike most of the other students, you can trust her to give you the full truth without any.. embellishments. Now that the first wave of injured was up and about again, the rumors that were sweeping the school.. well, you don't think someone actually summoned an ancient pagen god of fire, or anything like that. Still, you'd like to get the true story, and the professor is still in critical condition. Bad injuries combined with willpower exhaustion from preventing the explosion from killing any of the students..

Well, you can wait here, a while. Agnès is watching the door like a paranoid gargoyle, so you probably don't have to worry about anything, and some nice peace and quiet to do some thinking might be just what you need.

-POV Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière-
Your summoning has resulted in a horrific firestorm that embedded you into a wall. You are now awake for the first time since seeing the bricks approaching your face at a speed that was much to high for your liking, and Princess Henrietta is sitting in the chair next to your bed, apparently thinking about something. Either way, she hasn't noticed you're awake yet.

[X] How are you feeling Louise ?
[X] Oh sh--, it's the Princess!

Holy shit. What would have happened with the other two choices?

Oh, the exact same things, but from a different viewpoint. Henrietta gave you a big picture view, and let you know why she's at your bedside when you wake up...

Fouquet: Dealing with the entire second year, minus some dribs and drabbles, being hospitalized all at once and what this does to the class schedule, stonewalling the palace, dealing with all the familiars, many of whom are wounded and who are not on a list of which is attached to which person, and trying to figure out why the firenado felt so familiar....

Kirche: Not being hospitalized on count of being next to Tabitha, who like Colbert has the reflexes to do a shield before being smacked, and unlike him isn't trying to shield every second year at the academy. Trying to figure out what Louise did. Getting to know Flame. Trying to figure out what Louise did. Manipulating the gossip for fun and fun. Having lots of free time with classes called off. Trying to figure out what the hell Louise did with said free time.

Black: Merely enveloping the countryside in a wave of anti-lifeforce, releasing a plague of randomly reanimating undead upon the land, and maybe kinda sorta turning some of your classmates into blasphemies before the eyes of god, IE, strange negative energy influenced people. Also, some of them might have been, kinda sorta, potentially your thralls depending on how you handled things.

Blue: "Look at me mom, I have mental powers!" Where black is anti life force, blue floods the land with both raw mental and raw magical energy. (Instead of the shaped magical energy black results in) Spontaneous psionic powers may have broken out, you may have ended up with some potential mental links to some people and things, and it may have had some very very strange effects on any magic items in the country. Or spontaneously infused some formerly mundane items with large amounts of raw mana.

Also note you haven't seen all the effects yet... The Princess has a big picture view, but she was kinda distracted by the rain of fire, and not all the effects have made it to the big picture yet. I mean, you haven't even heard about the Mox Ruby yet!

(Not that you can't learn how to mentally dominate people or turn them into your pesudo undead thralls on this path, but you can't claim to have done so by accident.. ah, excuses, how Louise likes you.)

... Blue and black sound like they would have been awesome!

The possibility of our own army of abomination thralls or our own possibly paychic hivemind both sound so spectacular! >:D >:D

Louise might not agree with that sentiment.

Red sounds like it had the least repercussions of the three.

Oh god, imagine with Green and White were an option.

Green would have some people screaming first born or something. Not sure about white though.

Are random cases of animals and people going berserk and being overly aggressive part of the Red package?

And the mountains of Tristain, are they turning into volcanoes? 'Cause that'd be so awesome.
