If Vader ends up being under Las due to the Emperor stirring up trouble or some temporary falling out between the Emperor and Vader, Las could just tell Vader he could register with the Guild under a different identity or his own and take his own jobs and build up his own funds as he pleases. Vader might tinker with own craft and droids and enjoy hunting down slavers and pirates and forget about the Empire for a while before the Emperor recalls him.

Good. Satisfaction fills me for a second, just one. Then disgust. It's a quiet thing, but it's there. I've just given a man a life sentence. I did so with evidence, yes, and within a legal system, yes. But it still disgusted me.
