[RWBY] RWBY Shorts

A 40-year-old woman asking her 17-year-old "dad" on how to win a man over. 🤣

Like I keep saying; the best way to write RWBY is to apply the Toriyama School of Plot Writing (Rule of Cool and Rule of Funny reign supreme, with Rule of Drama and Shipping only sprinkled in here and there for spice), while supplementing it with Oda's School of Plot Consistency.

I had an idea for Adam. Based on Sasuke Uchiha and Zechs Merquise.

Sasuke wanted to become a threat to keep the world united together against a common enemy. He reasoned that without a common enemy, there would be no incentive for peace. Zechs Merquise did the same.

So in much the same way, Adam... Is an idealist. He wants Faunus and human equality. He wants peace. He wants Blake's dream... But his way to achieve it is to become the ultimate bad guy. He joins Salem as her Dark Knight and encourages her to show herself to the world. To unite the world against Salem. And he is willing to give up his life to help facilitate true peace and victory over her.

In other words he's just as much of a drama queen as Blake.

Jaune as a member of the Men in Black.

*It's night and Team RWBY is about to turn in before the door slams open. Jaune walks in wearing a black formal suit, amidst the girls' shrieks*

Weiss: "Arc, you depraved pervert! Get out!"

*Jaune holds up a small remote and presses it. The nearby wall folds and retracts, revealing a massive futuristic armory. Ruby starts drooling.*

Yang: "What the hell?"

As a tangent based on the Jedi!Jaune series, it might be amusing to twist it. Jaune's Nana is actually a Sith, though she's tried to hide her darker impulses. None of her children or grandchildren were Force Sensitive... Until Jaune. So she decided to begin to raise Jaune up as a proper apprentice.

Unfortunately Jaune is so kind and good hearted that he just keeps on the Lightside despite her best efforts. He's basically like a Lightside!Sith Warrior in SW:TOR.

Jaune: "Why would I kill anyone pointlessly? Wouldn't that attract the police?"

Sith!Nana: "You need to take a life, feel the death and let it feed your rage and fear! Preferably someone you care about!"

Jaune: "But why? Then I'll just be scared that anyone might turn on me and kill me! I'll be totally isolated and without friends to help! I'll get outnumbered!"

Sith!Nana: "I had to do it!"

Jaune: "But you haven't done it to Papa!"

Sith!Nana: "He was too good a cook to kill and skilled at..." blush "Other things!"

Jaune: "Sooo... Why would I want to kill anyone who might also be useful to me?"

Sith!Nana: "I... Um... Hmm... You're not wrong, sweetie. I may need to rethink some things..."

That would undermine his whole character and that of Blake's as well, at least in my opinion.

Adam is based on the fairytale character the beast, while Blake is based on Belle, you know, the dude who got cursed because he was a selfish asshole, kidnapped and imprisoned someone and tried to force them to love him just to break that curse (not to mention the stockholm syndrome aspects).
Yes, the Beast does have good/redeemable aspects (how much really depends on the version), but from the ground up, the relationship of Adam and Blake deliberately the most horrible version of that, so not exactly healthy or good morally.

Adam's treatment of Blake wouldn't really work if he was secretly a good guy, as he is the cause behind a big part of Blake's character and personality, and the big part of her personally traumatic backstory.
Making him a secret good guy takes away from the few good aspects of Blake's characters that are left (I too can shit on Blake crying "racism" at everything, her messed up shipping with Yang and whatnot more, but that part of her backstory is one of the few good things that stuck around after everyone's personality/character started sliding downhill after Monty's unfortunate passing).

Adam is basically a dark reflection on the Faunus fight for equality and Blake, as he's what happens when you take that way too far and make it about getting revenge and becomming the abuser in power rather than the victom, perpetuating the cycle of exploitation and abuse.
Even the reviel later on of his branding scar doesn't make his actions any better, it gives some sympathy for his origin, but he shows that he was a victom and still chose to directly abused Blake in multiple ways (including during their relationship), stalkes her, vows and actively tries to destroy/kill everything that Blake loves for petty reasons, and has actively murdered most of his own underlings for petty shit like disagreeing with him.
Sasuke Uchiha and Zechs Merquise were made to be heroic from the beginning (even if Sasuke clearly planned to have a path to darkness).

Adam was made from the ground up to be a bad guy, a villain, and unlike Salem, is scary because he's far more realistic.
He's an abuser and violent narcissist who blames everyone else for his failiures, wants to gain power over others (in multiple different ways, like control over Blake's life) and turn the other race of people into slaves for his race (and in Volume 5, he literally changes clothing to a militarized grey suit that resembles a Nazi uniform).
There are people like that in real life.
Trying to make him into a good guy doesn't work (in my opinion) as he was made to be a villain, but it's okay to have someone made purely to be a villain, as they drive characters and the plot forward, good obstacles to overcome.

Dark Sider!Jaune using the power of hate on human trafficker's [the crown] terrorist [WF] and crime families [the spiders] and being his wholesome self the second they are done killing, just like how Ruby snipes for headshots and is still the cookie gremlin...

Yeah but they failed at that. They made him an incel and abuser when he should have been more tragic: A heroic figure, a freedom fighter twisted by his rage and hatred into a monster worse than those who abused him. Yes you could make him a villain and yes he could still be bad with a bad ending, but he needed some actual nuance-He had to be more of a Magneto than the Strawman they made him.

And indeed, if he was inspired by the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, he could have had a path to redemption.

I offer this path not to make him redeemed, but more that he is complex. He is tragic and perhaps misguided. He is devoted to Blake's beliefs but takes them in a twisted, violent direction. He feels if he is a massive villain, a threat, and makes it so he is to blame for everything, his and Blake's aims will be achieved. There will be true equality if everyone is united against a common threat-Namely, himself and Salem. But this doesn't mean he is right to do this, or that it will work. Much like Sasuke was wrong for believing that only a common enemy could unite all people on Earth.

While I agree, and he does need more nuance, I don't think that trying to make him a martyr who sacrifices himself to becomes a shared target of hatred is the way to go about it.

My suggestion would be to lean more into the tragic aspect of it, rather then trying to make him heroic.
Use some of Adam's neutral and/or good traits (or even give him some new ones) that specifically cause the horrible outcome to happen, even if they would be helpful in other scenarios.
Make it really sad that it would end that way, so sad that even Blake/Yang (both abused and crippled by him) cries for him when he finally does die, because it could have been prevented but Adam's Fatal Flaws didn't let that happen.

So a weird Weiss harem idea hit me.

Weiss hereditary semblance is a mutated version. Instead of summoning Grimm she summons alternate versions of people she knows. From pirates to knights to mad scientist and more.

And all of them only have one thing in common. They are head over heels for Weiss.

That's like princess treatment/damsel in distress taken to its logical extreme.

I like it.

So I finally have the permission from the person on Reddit to post their Arthur Watts roasts Blake.

So on r/fnki they had this whole thing going on of Arthur Watts roast x person days and I think when it came to Blake this person temporarily got possessed by V1 Weiss.

"Your singular, monomaniacal focus towards your cause is as admirable as your ability to hold any meaningful connection to those who care for you"

"I had reasons to admire the Faunus cause really, not as a supporter mind you, but as two beings who have realised that if you wish to have something, you must attain it by any means necessary.

I followed yours and Taurus' excursions for time to time and I was deeply disappointed"

" A child playing at being a hero,

Ha! Two most reprehensible things, overlapping together in a meaningless cacophony of Self serving Ideals, a skin as thick as an autumn leaf.

Considering every action even remotely connected to your kind as a personal attack, as if you yourself are the Supreme authority.

A perfect specimen for narcissism without a foundation to back it"

"What do you truly stand for?A cause? an Ideal? perhaps the various lovers you go through like napkins?

Someone like you who cannot dare face gerself without needing constant intervention or external validation, what can you achieve, truly?"

"I suppose you and your band of Hormonal Rodents will beat me here, perhaps put on a showcase of dazzling colours and comradery and love and sweetened words of empowerment towards your fellow emotionally unstable, Aura charged, destruction machines.

But ask yourself truly, without guise or lie, do you think your incapable paws can truly built something that lasts?

Because based on prior Empirical evidence, Blake Belladonna, you are a poison, not only for yourself but to everything you hold dear"

So based on this absolute devastating blow, how do you think things will proceed next.

this remind me of a story i read yesterday, give me a moment to find the quote.

edit: founded it.
The Monster of Kaon by ruijard said:
"Maximus does not like violence. However, he also knows that many times, violence is a necessary act to get the point across. To that end, he always falls back on his practicality during a fight in order to quickly and efficiently end said fight. He does this by suppressing his emotional matrix, leaving behind a cold and calculating mind that only knows the most efficient ways to dismantle a Cybertronian."

"To him, and to the majority of us, such a way of fighting and thinking is a valuable asset. But to the younger bots who have yet to witness the true horrors of an existential war, such a paradoxical existence, a bot who was laughing with you warmly just a few seconds ago, only to turn around and coldly slaughter his enemy in the most painful way possible, would terrify them to a great extent."
it's a Transformers SI over on SB if any of are interested.

Some girls at Beacon have a slumber party and do the usual dumb shit. Spin the bottle, pillow fight, try to summon something.

Except holy shit they actually did summon something!

The god of darkness has been summoned back to remnant.

Luckily since they didn't use the relics and had no idea how these rituals are supposed to go they summoned him without the bulk of his powers.

He had enough to twist a black panther plushie into a body for him and he can still do minor things but he's mostly harmless.

Naturally the girls are fighting over custody for the little spicy kitty.

He decides fuck it he's not dealing with cuddlers and hides with the nearest source of testosterone.

Jaune.

Jaune.
I would rather suggest a Mulan esque "Be a Man" montage of GoD and Jaune because he is simply suffocating in overly curious women and last time he came across so much of feminine curiosity was Salem pre annihilation , and he knew he would have to deal with this nuisance as well minus the powers he had so he comes to conclusion.

He is gonna make sure this sad bastard would act as a control rod in this nuclear reactor.

I am gonna need the source for this Big Dog.
So there was an AMA earlier today on the main RWBY sub. E. C. Myers, Eddy Rivas, and Kerry Shawcross popped in to answer questions about the Fairy Tales bits, and I saw an answer that I felt worth bringing up.

-For all three of you, don't think I didn't notice the similarities between Salems royal emblem and Jaunes family crest. Jaune and Salem have the same hair, eye and Aura color and now they have the same emblem. All I'm asking is a simple yes or no.

-Does Jaune have a bigger role to play than we think?

So outright asking about Salem's possible relation to Jaune. Honestly, I'm really glad that someone asked. And I'm even happier that Kerry actually gave them a straight answer.

-So, definitely understand how people can see this, and in hindsight we probably shouldn't have let some elements be so similar, but no, Jaune and Salem aren't related.

-kerry
I remember an interview were they go over all the similarities between Salem and Jaune and realize they made a massive Red Herring with all the similarities of both esthetic and personality traits they 'envisioned' {but never used properly in the show} so ya

Adding the bits on Spacebattles
Jaune: wait, you resurrected a dog using your master?
Sith!Nana: Oh ya basic life force stealing technique
Papa!Shirou:*Killing Evil is OK * Exclusive Dark Sider only
Jaune: *Save his Friends no matter what* So do i have to wear all black?
Sith!Nana: I still want you to form a Harem!

If RWBY was a great story that didn't constantly face problems and pacing issues and wasn't totally carried by fanfiction and Tumblr, I would pat them on their back for avoiding clichƩ.

Now? Well I would call it a lost opportunity.

Oh well you heard it guys, Jaune and Salem have no connection at all.

God I just realised that CRWBY are exactly the kind of people that MatPat would hate while theory crafting.

Instead having an open interpretation or going with the flow, they actively shut down avenues of exploration of stories and keeping interest afloat.

...ok so fun crossover idea.

Courage the cowardly dog and RWBY.

Going after the relics was not salems plan. Nope! All cinder. And why doesn't Salem want to go after the relics?

"With this surely Lady Salem will reward us."

"Hey uh cinder? There's a guy outside. I think he's here to speak to you."

"What makes you think anyone could know we're here? This safehouse is completely off the grid."

*Grunt looks at the shriveled up corpse standing outside in the moonlight surrounded by fog*

"Return the lamp~Or suffer my curse~"

"Call it a hunch."

Did the author of Naruto rip off Watchmen to come up with that?
I mean this kind of moral quandary has been staple for stories for such a long time that you can't say someone ripped someone off.

You have one side that believes in a gradual and strictly monitored change in the system for the better so that no one get's left behind or is hurt during the transition towards better systems and the other believes in uniting people through a total and complete annihilation of current system and making themselves the sole authority in one way or another.

You have Professor X and Magneto, you have Robute Guilliman and Konrad Kurze(also both of their character design actually look like "Chadified" version of Naruto and Sasuke if you think about it), plus many other.

Basically this. It has been a recurring issue in all human societies since the beginning: Do you try to reform the existing system and root out corruption and injustice, or do you tear it all down and try again? The first we have seen many times in history and it has sometimes been successful, like Andrew Jackson's reform of the US civil service. The other has examples like the French Revolution which... Did not end well at all.
