Shin Megami Campione

[X] No, you need a weapon. Even if you can make a fire weapon that'll work, do you really want to? The sewers may not be the best place for that kind of tool.. Of course, this will take more time then just going straight there.
-[X] Harpoon : You know where this fishing shop is.. they still sell Harpoons, for whatever reason. Some sort of heritage thing.

...Think, more. 'Authentic Native American Harpoons! Really!' style. Well, from what you know from memories of seeing the outside of the store...

Of course, since magic is real, perhaps they are more Authentic then you think?

Deciding on a visiting that fishing shop in that out of the way corner, and picking up a First Aid Kit from a drug store or somewhere wouldn't be a bad idea, you start keeping an eye out for likely stores as you divert your course to said somewhat obscure fishing shop.

Pulling into the parking lot, you seem to be the only one there at this time.. They always have neat stuff here, even if you doubt that it's 'authentic Native American traditional fishing goods' like the sign claims. You don't think the Native Americans had access to plastic at least..

Still, fake or not, it's still interesting, which is how you find yourself adding a Shark Tooth Knife to your basket... It looks like a tooth at least, and even if it proves to be low quality, it should be an interesting discussion piece later. Besides, the whole first aid kit thing made you start thinking about back ups. Back ups are good.

Eventually you find yourself having narrowed down which of the three harpoons to have caught your eye you wish to buy. It was a long and involved argument with yourself, but eventually you decided on..

[ ] The Full Metal One. Haft of metal, spearhead of metal, and rubber grips. Nice and advanced and modern.
[ ] One of the 'authentic' Native American harpoons. Its shaft looks like someone took a mostly straight branch and tried to carve off any pieces that stuck out, and the spearhead looks like it's the same probably sharktooth as your new knife is made out of.
[ ] You aren't really sure why this ratty old thing was so attractive to you, but really, it felt like it was born to be in your hand when you picked it up. As scratched up as the haft is, and even though it looks like someone had to tie the (wooden) spearhead back on when it came loose, you just like this one.

Harpoons are weapons that appear often in Egyptian mythology and its with one that Horus pierce the head of Set in one of their battle while the latter was metamorphosed in a red hippopotamus. Since you guys did kill Horus and this harpoon feel familiar, maybe there's a link.

I assure you, you won't be finding any god wielded or enchanted or crafted weapons in J Random Shoppe at this point of time. On the other hand, yes, their is a link between your authority and harpoons. You don't know what it is yet though..

Edit: ... I missed the invisitext... wow. Perception check: Fail :p

Does that mean at some Point we will find god wielded or enchanted weapons at random Shops?

We have NO reason to pick the crappy spears

Well, in Campione there are in fact various conceptual-type weapons, and they're not all directly connected to gods. Delilah's Razor, the spellbook with the Privilege of Extermination, and so forth. So if we feel a specific connection to one particular weapon, it might be worth grabbing it.

Even if we just have an affinity for harpoons in general, older might be better; an older god's conceptual affinity for a modern-style metal harpoon wouldn't be as great as for one that's more reasonably like the sort of harpoons which would actually be in its myth. Counterbalancing this is the dichotomy of utility as plain weapons. But it's a theme in Campione that magic something always trumps mundane something, which makes me inclined to try to get the one with a possible conceptual connection.

Of course, there may also be counterbalances from the SMT 'verse, which I don't know. But for the moment,

Horus has a conceptual affinity with iron and blacksmiths, also us liking something is not the same as us having a conceptual connection with it, honestly that old spear just seems like a red herring, we'are more likely to get something out of the modern one than the old one.

For reference, the Modern one had the best physical stats, and the 'shark tooth' one was a chunk of fragile vender crap. This one has the most mystical compatibility though, for what good it does you when you don't know any buff spells.
For those interested, I have also added a list of city districts to the front page.

Quickly leaving the store, you are once again driving to the sewers when your phone gets a text from Alia. 'New Official Announcement.' It says. 'The sanitation people just declared they think there's an alligator in the sewers and its causing the monster rumors. Cover up? Real giant croc might be nasty if true.'

Well, that's worrisome, even if it isn't right..

[ ] Are you going to text her anything back besides just an acknowledgement?

Nothing you can do about it though, but to go and see for yourself.

And so you drive on into the night, up through Ivy Acres and into The Hills, where the flood intakes will let you into the sewers.. can't have rich people be flooded out of their homes and all that.

Once there, you make your way into the sewers, spear strapped to your back, flashlight in hand, and map in the other hand as you slowly make your way to the correct room. A large room, with many entrances and exits...

A room that.. seems empty?

Wait! You can see something moving on the far end.. Something short.. something moving in your direction!

[ ] What should you do?!

[Q] Burn It With Fire AHAHAHAHAHAH!!

I hope each vote is a voice in the back of his head. :D

I would honestly prefer a better look first but considering the is Shin Megami... Fire! may actually be the appropriate and needed response.

Happery can we tell how fast its moving towards us?

Knew we should have grabbed the solid metal one.

[X] Reply- "Huh. Thanks for the information."
[X] Get ready to stab the charging thing if required. Hold back until you see what it is.

If it's a giant croc, we're in trouble. Crocs are tough as nails- Even just shooting them doesn't work, you've got to hit them right at the base of the skull to kill the fuckers off.
