Terrible Father Quest (Evangelion)

What angles do we have for artillery strikes? Could we have a strike come from the north, and then a few seconds later come from the south?

I want to see if we can bait the angel into going a specific direction by having it shelled from there.

You can get three JSSDF jets attacking from beyond visual range with a pair of surface to air missiles each. They'd normally attack in a series, but you can break them up, sure.

Bare in mind, though, that Shamsel knows where Lilith is. It can feel Lilith's location like a brand on its mind. The air support is best used as a distraction, and is absurdly unlikely to cause any harm to Shamsel at all.

[X] Have the Evas pin down the Angel with Pallet rifles and use their AT feilds to render the core open to an Airstrike.

If you don't put their air strike to good use, the JSSDF won't give you any more freebies.

Wait, let me get this straight, so the JSSDF want to be lambs to a slau- faceless mooks?

[X] Asuka

I'll get the popcorn.

The generals are prideful idiots who care more about their pride then the lives of their men.

So warn them... in a way their men will hear... then let them toss away lives... which we thn interrupt to save the mooks... and thus hijack the JSSDF's budget.

[X] The airstrike is only useful if the Evas are neutralizing the Angel's AT field, so hold the JSSDF back at least until that much.

[X] Have the Evas flank (come at it from two different directions) and move to melee at mostly the same time. Only use the airstrike if they need cover to pull back, or if an extremely good shot presents itself.

[X] Don't rely much on the pallet rifles.

Huh. I know Gendo is disappointed we didn't do better, but I can't argue with the results of our plan. Not bad. Curse that interfering Misato, though...

This wouldn't have happened had we not gone with giving them adult supervision. It's entirely our fault.

[X] You know what? You have an opportunity to show yourself off as being 'Generous' and 'Transparent' in your activities, here. Cut a deal to let them both in. Another Eva pilot and if whatever Makinami is related to falls through, a back-up pilot, just in case. Reserve pilots and back-up plans are good to have... though, you have to wonder if any of the Evas will take a shine to her.
-[X] They'll be living in the same building, of course. Sharing an apartment. You think... there will be an error with the water heating. The faucets and showers will only run cold.

[X] Angels generate a biological force field, that can only be jammed and disrupted by the Evas. Make this clear. As such, the initial plan of assault is to lock down the Angel's position, disrupt its AT field, and then deploy the air strike, targeting the Angel's Core. If successful, this should in theory neatly destroy the Core and eliminate the Angel. .... If unsuccessful, then Plan B is for the Evangelions to stab it to death with giant knives. Ideally, this won't be required. Make no comment on any Plan C's.

How about sending Shinji a porn mag. and Rei "accidentaly" getting it?

We don't want Asuka anywhere near Rei's apartment. Given the state of the bathroom doors, she might actually kill Shinji, and then we'd have nobody to be a terrible father to.

Eh. Mari seems more open regarding that sorts of thing. And she is very hot-blooded! Sure, we're little ashamed Shinji isn't manly enough that a girl can out-manly him, but that's why we provide him with example!

clever, Shinji and Rei have the "hot room" and Mari and Asuka have the "cold room"

it gives them a reason to spend a lot of time in the same apartment, but without making it super obvious.

I always thought it was strange that the conventional forces attacked BEFORE the eva.

Have one Evangellion on each side of it, then take down it's AT field (pressing it from both sides should make it easy enough, right? shinji does know how to use the AT field, right?) THEN shoot a missle into the big red weak-point.

how close do the eva have to be to crack it's AT field? we don't want them in the line of fire.

well, if the missile it's it from the front/back and our pilots are at left/right then it should be fine, right? theres a shockwave and sharpanal, but I doubt it can destroy the entry plug.

assuming that doesn't, Shinji can tear open it's AT field from the front, while Rei stabs it in the back.

... which angel is this one anyway? it's not lazor face is it?

Yep! As long as you remember that someone's time looping, you should be just fine.

It's not like anything's different, right?

For some reason, my first thought were "Simurgh!" but this isn't Worm.

Sadly, it's been so long since I've read Evangelion so I have no idea of who it could be (not that it would've helped, I'm notoriously bad at this kind of guessing).

...I fear that the looper may be Kaworu. That's the only explanation for why the 4rth showed up 3 days early I can think of.

If the looper isn't Kaworu then whoever it is must be wondering what they could possibly have done that caused Gendo to not be a COMPLETE bastard to Shinji.
