• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

XF Move To-Do List

Known issue: Certain individuals cannot seem to be able to successfully upload and display avatars. A fix is in the works, but its a lower priority at the moment, then killing whatever bug is causing Apache (a backend piece of software responsible for helping to run the web-server) to crash. Possible fix for that issue is known, which is upgrading to the latest version. But alethiophile does not want to do so until he has a better idea of the down time it will cause, and thus how much time he requires free to handle it.

EDIT: and apparently the avatar issue has been resolved. Awesome work aleth!

So when is the pre-move content getting indexed for search?
Been done. The archive content is all in the search engine.

The 'Basic' search engine, which we're using now, is not quite as nice as the Enhanced one which is, like, two projects down the line. But it works reasonably well.

Ish it possible to have a script or something to delete the embed tags in old SMF posts for videos and stuff?

The current project is to do a mass reimport from the SMF forum, this time creating a proper converter and filtering the posts through that. I am working with others on this outside the running forum; notices will go up prior to any downtime. However, since in theory this will fix all the issues with archived posts at one step, doing script runs to fix individual issues is a lower priority. (I am currently hoping to do this in production within perhaps a week.)

Is fine... it's just something I noticed when looking at some of the old posts that video embeds got busted...

So issue I noticed with the new rich text editor, the font selections tend to blend in with the background of the editor, and at least on Flexile Dark the entire toolbar for the editor blends in with the forum background a bit too well.

Work in progress. We are trying to get it set up the way it should be. We are concentrating on functionality at the moment, and once we get that solved, we will move on to the aesthetics.

What's with the new editor? The buttons are garrish, low-contrast, and way oversized.

In terms of functionality it allow for things like monospaced breaks, tables, special characters, and other nice things. It might not be very pretty but at the very least the contrast can be upped, but as for it being 'garish and big'... Well aesthetics are at the bottom of th totem pole of priorities for a reason.

Can we at least find a skin for it that it light-on-dark like the rest of the site?

That's "has had".

And yes. There should be no real effect on users, though, once DNS has shaken out; the software is copied over wholesale.

I dunno if this has already been brought to your attention, and forgive me if I'm beating a dead horse, but the homepage is titled "Questionable Question" rather than "Questing."

Dunno if this is an April Fool's thing, or an actual error.

It was indeed an April Fools joke attempt.

I just got a sec_error_ocsp_server_error in Palemoon, seems to have something to do with certificates.
I can only visit the site again because I disabled that security feature.

This evening in which time zone? Because "this evening" is now as far as I'm concerned.

Were you bumping his quote to request clarification as well? Or wondering how Germany would be in the afternoon already?
Clarification. He posted in a months dead thread to ask a question that bore no detectable relationship with anything else here. I've now noticed the header message that he is presumably asking about, so I retract the question.

"This evening" in my time zone. Which the entire userbase is, of course, expected to know via telepathy.

I'll change the notice a few minutes in advance. I know past times I've done this people had problems with losing compositions that they were typing into the post editor.
