Instead of wasting dots on melee, why not just introduce Ruby to Kiba?

:-\ Because Kiba doesn't run off of the Exalted system like we do? He effectively counts as melee specialty (swords) 5 or so. While we on the other hand would be simply melee with no specialty, as in we are equally skilled in all melee weapons at that level. Did you forget that we are a really special snowflake when it comes to learning?

Okay: Index, Character Sheet and whatnot are all updated. Praise me :))

Q & A:
nightblade said:
Do we have to vote to double done on the evil pieces.
Yes. Remember you will be down 10 motes each days to do it.
Smuthunter said:
Last time I checked the piece system was something that would take months and require input from Beelzebub. Now it's two weeks of work? What happened?
It's finishing to analyze the Evil Pieces. But knowing how they work tell you just that: how they work. Building them and/or creating a variant will require much more time and preparation.
Fellgar said:
Doesn't melee also work into parry? Which we have our gauntlets for?
Gauntlets count as Martial Arts weapons.

Who know? ::)

And now, Character Sheet for Mittelt and Asia. Be aware that they don't follow the rules of Creation like Issei. This is merely trying to show a rough sketch of their abilities.

Her favorite types of weapons are Tetsubo and Hammers, that she can wield freely thanks to the strength granted from her Oni heritage.

For those interested in creating Enlightened Mortals:
TOUCH OF DIVINITY
Cost: 3m, 1wp;
Mins: Essence 3;
Type: Simple (Dramatic Action)
Keywords: Obvious, Shaping, Touch
Duration: Indefinite (see below)
Prerequisite Charms: None
This Charm enables a spirit to commit three motes of its Essence to a favored mortal. Whatever form the Charm takes, the blessed recipient
feels the unaccustomed power of Essence flood through her body in an unmistakable, electric surge. All her senses seem sharper, colors look brighter, and she feels transcendent joy—or terror. Touch of Divinity grants no measurable benefits beyond enabling its recipient to perceive Essence in use. The spirit can take back its committed Essence whenever it wants. A mortal can use his new sense for Essence to learn how to channel it himself, though. After each month the recipient carries the borrowed Essence, the recipient's player rolls ([highest Mental Attribute] + Martial Arts) at difficulty 3. Once the roll succeeds, the mortal gains his own Essence pool, and the spirit can take back the committed motes. The mortal's permanent Essence hasn't changed (that requires bonus points or experience points to raise), but he has joined the supernatural world. The enlightened mortal character can now learn supernatural martial arts. The mortal gains an affinity for whatever divine force empowered her.
This Charm could be learned instantly by spending 8 Xp. This is your best bet if you want to create Essence using mortals that follow Creation's rules. I am also going to lower the requirements because ([highest Mental Attribute] + Martial Arts) at difficulty 3 every month is too much for the setting.

That's a spirit charm, not a Solar charm, and last I checked, Issei isn't an Eclipse.

You want Soul-Enlightening Beneficence.

That Charm requires that the recipient also trades one permanent dot of Willpower for another point of permanent Essence. Which is...not recommendable. It can be bought again, but it costs Xp. I searched for another, better method but found nothing.

If it was easy, everyone would be Essence users.

Hm. What does Occult 5 mean for magic in a more practical sense, Alexander?

5 dots in anything is peak human capabilities for whatever you can imagine. Lore 5 is Albert Einstein. Investigation 5 is Batman or Sherlock Holmes. Firearms 5 is Simo Hayha, Melee 5 is Miyamoto Musashi, War 5 is Erwin Rommel or Zhuge Liang, etc. With Occult 5 we might actually outstrip Rias and Akeno in arcane knowledge (and I say might mainly because they might have the equivalent of an Excellency in Occult, being devils with a magic focus and all).

Wait, Human capabilities? I thought that in Exalted having 5 of anything put you already beyond human capabilities.

Heck, I thought by being an Exalted we were already beyond human capabilities.

Technically yes but specialties only work for specific aspects of a field rather than the whole thing.

And thanks for reminding me Lar, we should look into acquiring a specialty in Martial Arts (Boosted Gear). It's a really cheap way to get a few extra dice for something we use all the time anyways.

Five dots in any field is something that mortals are capable of acquiring, though for them it may take a lifetime of effort to reach that point. Exalts are set apart by their charms and essence usage. If you think we're good at kung-fu now, wait until we pick up a Martial Arts Excellency.

So, wait. Higher Occult not only improves your affinity to magic, it also gives you knowledge on how to use magic?

The heck are we learning under Akeno for, then? Akeno's hardly 'peak' in terms of magic, though she's above average. There are likely a lot of Devils better than her at it - she's only sixteen, after all.

It doesn't give you knowledge or improve your affinity, it just represents how much you know and are able to apply when you need that knowledge. A person who has no magical ability can train in occult and then be able to identify rituals or remember the proper customs when you're speaking to a god and things like that. It's also an abstraction, obviously -- you can still fail rolls and be unable to identify a type of spell, but it will happen considerably less often than it would if you were untrained.
